‘Pray for Obama’: Faith-Based Anti-Obama Billboard Causes ‘Firestorm’

Pray for Obama: Another Anti Obama Billboard Stirs up Controversy | Psalms 109:8

A faith-based anti-Obama billboard in Victoria, Texas, has reportedly caught the attention of the president’s Secret Service, according to KENS5.com.

The black-and-white billboard says “Pray for Obama” and includes a reference to Psalms 109:8. For those of you unfamiliar with that particular Psalms reference, it reads, “Let his days be few, and let another take his office.”

The man behind the billboard, Milton Neitsch Jr., says it was never the intention of his billboard to wish any harm or pain on President Barack Obama.

“Pray for the president. He needs it,” said Neitsch, adding that the sign means “exactly what it says. Hope he’s gone soon and somebody different takes his place.”

However, critics of the billboard disagree with the Texas man and say it’s hateful and must be taken down. One such critic, Reverend Amy Danchik, started a petition to have the sign taken down and eventually got Neitsch to agree to replace it.

“He shared with me a little about some of the threats that have come at his family, which is incredibly inappropriate, and in no way helpful and in no way how we’re called to react when we disagree with somebody,” said Danchik.

“So I hope that those stop. I hope that people will react with the graciousness that he has reacted with and leave his family alone,” Danchik added.

Neitsch noted that he might replace the sign with something along the lines of “Vote for the American,” which, when we think about it, will probably irritate his critics even more.

      I know the man and he is a good man and I personally called him and told him probably 80% of the people in this town support him. This pastor is way off base if she calls herself a Christian. Obama supports ABORTION IN THE THIRD TRIMESTER, AND HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE. She should be ashamed of herself, I know I am.I live in this town and pass that church at times and I am ashamed of her not Neitsch. Yes, we are to pray for our neighbors but the Lord would not have had that prayer in the book of Psalms if he did not believe there would come a time we needed to pray it. There comes a time in a Christians walk where wer either serve the Lord and his tenants or we serve man. The Luthern Church has already fallen away from the Lords tenants because they support homosexual pastors and that is an abomination to the Lord.

      please do not put all Lutheran churches in the same catagory, and the Lutheran church has fallen away from God’s word. the Lutheran church you speak of is ELCA(Evengelical Lutheran Church In America) there were years ago many fractions of the Lutheran church, but they all formed together to become what is now called ELCA. the two main Synods of the Lutheran Church are Missouri Synod, and Wisconsin Synod. neither condones homesexuality,or female Pastors.
      the different fractions in the Lutheran Church were founded by those in Germany that followed Luther, however they disagreed with him on almost all of his core beliefs. all Religions have their fractions. Catholics do, Mormons do, baptists do, and so on. as the son of a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Pastor(LCMS) you just insulted me, my father and my Church. in the future please look into something alot deeper before you post, and tarnish a Church that you obiviously know little to nothing about.

      As someone who believes in the Bible and who is a fan of the Harry Potter series, I am able to tell the difference between God’s Word and fantasy, thank you very much. God’s Word IS reality. Harry Potter is something made up in a talented woman’s mind.

    There was a billboard in East Texas right after Obama was elected, It said something about Hope and Change, etc and it had a large picture of him. It was a little out of town and it was full of bullet holes.

      I agree with your sentiments – but I also know there’s a line in the sand beyond which God abandons a nation, as He did Israel for a time. And I think America has crossed it.

      With the news of Israel’s imminent attack on Iran, and the nations aligned as they are, can it be very long before we are involved in the battle of Armageddon? What is left to be fulfilled? Has the Arab spring not removed the last restraints on the Muslim Brotherhood and their puppeteer, Iran, and its wacky Ayatollahs whose own prophesies state an imminent war. Only then can their 12th Imam rise from the cinders of the world.

      Its time to be ready, and if God spares us, then that is a bonus.

      Church leaders have every right to express their opinions as well. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech….”

      Notice that Congress has not authority to prohibit the free exercise of religion by anyone or to abridge the freedom of speech of anyone. The idea that a church leader is not free to speak or preach what he believes just because the church is tax free is NOT an idea supported by the Constitution.
