President Obama: Buy a ‘Thingamajig’ For Your Furnace & Stimulate The Economy

While stumping in Golden Valley, Minn., President Obama told a group of Honeywell employees that his proposed tax breaks would help them afford “thingamajigs” for their furnaces.
“There are some folks here who could use $3,000 a year,” President Obama said. “If you got $3,000 dollars a year extra, that helps you pay down your credit cards, that helps you go out and buy some things that your family needs — which is good for business.”
“Maybe some of you will be replacing some thingamajig for the furnace,” the president said to laughs and applause.
“They’ve been putting that off! But if they got that extra money, they might just go out that and buy that thing, right?”
Of course, the staff at Twitchy wasn’t about to let this go without first having a good laugh.
“Hush with your worry about the abysmal jobs report and the worsening economy, people. Just go buy some thingamajigs already!” the Twitchy staff writes.
“Maybe buy some widgets to inflate your tires, too. We guess President Obama forgot that sometimes, at a certain point, you’ve earned enough thingamajigs.”
Meanwhile, Mediaite’s Jon Bershad took exception to the Twitchy giggling.
“[T]his here is an example of you folks trying too hard. Saying ‘thingamjig’ is not a gaffe. Same as going on Jimmy Fallon is not a gaffe. Sames as singing Al Green songs is not a gaffe. I know it’s hard to believe, but most of us actually find those things kind of endearing,” Bershad writes.
“So, let ‘thingamajig’ be. Why don’t you all go back to talking about ‘57 states’ for a while. That was really funny. It really was. I’m sure something good will come your way soon. Just hang in there, kiddos!” he adds.
So, yes. People are making fun of people for making fun of people. Hallelujah! Election season is upon us!

Posted on June 1, 2012 at 9:02pmPerhaps if we had all followed his other “brilliant” advice regarding correct tire pressure, energy prices wouldn’t have “necessarily skyrocketed” then more of us could further assist Obamanomics by stocking up on thingamajigs. Though I think I will wait a bit until the price comes down from $3000 though.
I find it more than just a bit distubing that O thinks $3000 is pocket change to most people to throw around on thingamajigs when it takes almost that to drive to work (for the illiterate trolls – this is an exaggeration for emphasis – exaggeration is a literary tool used to highlight a point in an outlandish fashion to show the enormity of an issue)

Poor guy! Here he was going to make a big “connection” with the crowd by actually knowing something about furnaces and using the right word in front of people who may actually know how to fix their own furnaces.
Notice how he is just like a little kid who says something not particularly funny, but then all the grown ups laugh. So he’s like “woah!… something must be funny here… I’ll just laugh along like I said that on purpose….”

If the world crashes and we go to a barter system or worthless cash you wouldn’t need a wheelborrow full of cash to get a loaf of bread. Probably a old silver dollar will get it.
