President Obama Does ‘Slow Jam’ on Student Loans, Says He‘s ’Not Friends’ With Romney in Fallon Previews

President Obama’s late night appearance with talk show host Jimmy Fallon on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” has been fairly closely guarded. Nevertheless, early preview clips from the show suggest that Obama’s appearance is set to be highly entertaining, with the President playing straight man to Fallon.
In one extremely brief, 9 second clip, President Obama is asked whether he knows Mitt Romney. The President responds awkwardly, “I’ve met him. We’re not friends.” The audience laughs in response to this fairly obvious admission.
In the second clip, Obama delivers part of a talk on student loan debt seemingly in standard campaign mode, until Fallon’s band begins to strike up and R&B style tune, and Fallon croons, “You should listen to the President. Or as I like to call him, the Preezy of the United Steezy.”
MSNBC has a very long, and superbly comprehensive description of what’s to come in the interview. Highlights are below:
“The Secret Service, these guys are incredible,” Obama said. “They protect me, they protect our girls. A couple of knuckleheads shouldn’t detract from that they do. What they were thinking, I don’t know. That‘s why they’re not there anymore.” [...]
The more serious points of discussion revolved around Obama’s plans to promote college education by reducing student debt, as well as his ongoing energy policies.
On Mitt Romney, Obama’s presumptive Republican challenger in the November general election, the president said, “We’re not friends; his wife is lovely,“ and he ”seems like somebody who cares about his family.”

Look at Vietnam – we gave them 30 years of a respectful hands off policy to work out their system of government and now they are becoming one of our biggest trading partners, and a fairly good example of state directed capitalism, with some nascent signs of democracy rearing its head.
