President Obama on 9/11: ‘We Are One Nation’

WASHINGTON – Amid an atmosphere of unease, President Barack Obama wants Americans to mark the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks by recapturing the sense of common purpose felt on that dreadful day.
“If there is a lesson to be drawn on this anniversary, it is this: We are one nation — one people — bound not only by grief, but by a set of common ideals,” the president said Saturday in his weekly radio and Internet address.
“By giving back to our communities, by serving people in need, we reaffirm our ideals — in defiance of those who would do us grave harm.”
Obama himself was marking the day nearly 3,000 people died in terrorist jetliner attacks with a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., the time the first plane hit the World Trade Center in New York City. The president also planned to attend a memorial service at the Pentagon and participate in a service project in the Washington area.
First lady Michelle Obama was to join former first lady Laura Bush in Shanksville, Pa., where the fourth plane crashed after passengers rushed the cockpit. Vice President Joe Biden is in New York for the service at ground zero.
In the GOP’s weekly address, Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., echoed Obama’s plea for a common purpose. Kyl called for the country to “recapture the unity that allowed us to come together as a nation to confront a determined enemy.”
Without mentioning the president by name, Kyl seemed to question the Obama administration’s commitment to the fight against terrorism begun by President George W. Bush. Obama recently declared an end to combat missions in Iraq even as he pledged to renew war-fighting efforts in Afghanistan and pursue al-Qaida terrorists.
“The fact that none of the subsequent attempts to attack us have succeeded seems to have removed some of the urgency and commitment so necessary to succeed in war,” Kyl said.

Over in Cairo, Obama said there are 7-million Muslims living in America. Truth is there are somewhere between 2-million to 3-million Muslims living in America. Either Obama is stupid or Obama is a liar. I think the boy is a stupid liar.
Appearing on France’s Canal Plus television, Obama claims America is one of the largest Muslim nations. Truth is America is not even in the top fifty of Muslims nations based on Muslim population percentage. Obama is a stupid liar.
Pew Research indicates the number Muslims in America to be 2.5-million.
U.S. News & World Report, a extreme left liberal publication, claims 5-million Muslims.
Council on American-Islamic Relations, a known Islamic terrorist support group, places this number at 7-million. This is Obama’s claim. Obama is using a known Islamic terrorist affiliate as a source.
Easy to see as a source of information becomes more left liberal or becomes outright Islamic, the claimed number of Muslims living in America increases dramatically.
I will go with Pew Research whose numbers are supported by the CIA World Fact Book.

I am an English professor of over twenty years. I am a professional writer. I am published many times over. I know what is appropriate content and what is inappropriate content. This is evidenced by my articles scattered all over The Blaze. This is further evidenced by many “Thank You” notes from participants here at The Blaze. There is a gracious “Thank You” note right here in this blog, next page. I appreciate those kind words and take those words to heart.
Nonetheless, despite my credentials and carefully worded articles here at The Blaze, I am being censored evidenced by my snapshot above.
I have serious issues with an alleged conservative web site engaging in censorship. I am a patriotic American who fiercely opposes censorship. This is doubly true with my being an English professor.
Censoring out vulgarity, hate speech, spam, other postings of this nature, this is acceptable. Contrasting, censorship to control the message is extremely offensive. This is wrongful.
I am putting The Blaze on notice if you continue to practice censorship I will go out on the web to ridicule and mock The Blaze for engaging in “controlling the message” which is not in keeping with our American way of life.
Glenn Beck calls for a return to “Honor” and The Blaze engages in unwarranted censorship.

Posted on September 11, 2010 at 12:59pmI have to call bull[beep] on this as well. But I differ at the date. We became a divided nation at the 2000 elections and it only gotten worse since. How else could be describe our behavior–and our resistance to repair the damage caused by 9-11 (or Katrina, or replace the Space Shuttle, or the Oil Spill, or even as simple as wiping our own [beep])–ever since. We might have been united in the day or two after 9-11, but that was all but forgotten because of all the radicals on both sides spouting off their crap.
Obama had a chance to unite the nation when he got elected and he screwed the pooch on it. And I doubt we’ll ever be a united nation ever again. (Could be why I’m making the Blood and Metal novel series. I wanted to see a form of America that just doesn’t exist anymore.)

Kyl is well versed it seems in Rules for Radicals. Emphasizing extremely blatantly that either you are a heavy handed violent terrorist or liberal. He had nothing good to say about democratic or even simply peaceful other nations. No the terrorists to him were subverting Liberal governance. He does know they attack conservative churches synagogues and governments too right? But its not about who the Extremists attack its about polarizing people to see everything except for Liberalism as bad.

Obama presents a theme of, “America should kiss Islamic butt.”
Kyl presents a theme of, “America should kick Islamic butt.”
Obama appears to be a talking head mannequin during his speech. Obama does not look directly into his camera rather never takes his eyes off his TelePromTer. Animation of Obama is stiff and is only tilting of his head back to raise his nose higher into the air. Obama telegraphs personal arrogance and an aloof distancing from Americans. His facial expression is a facade mask.
Kyl appears to be a living person speaking to America. Kyl looks directly in his camera and works at making eye contact with Americans. Animation of Kyl is relaxed, lively and is a tilting of his head downward to display earnest sincerity. Kyl telegraphs personal humility and a sincere concern for America. His facial expression is alive and real. Kyl does not wear a facade mask.
Obama begins his speech with a significant upward tilt of his head and does not offer a greeting. Obama is clearly nervous; first word has his head jerk and he suffers cotton mouth during his speech.
Kyl begins his speech with a small smile and a “good morning” greeting as if sitting down to have coffee with America. Kyl delivers his speech with relaxed comfort and confidence.
Obama has poor taste in clothing. His tie is garish and his shirt collar is stiff and sharp. His shirt appears to be brand new.
Kyl has good taste in clothing. His tie is American traditional, a Fifties look. His shirt collar is soft, a button down and clearly his shirt is worn many times; old and seasoned.
After several readings of a transcript of the Obama speech, I note his ghostwriter is a poorly skilled writer who has little knowledge of effective writing. I count about two dozen hard grammar errors in this written version of the Obama speech. Topic flow of the Obama speech is irregular and sporadic evidenced by numerous repetitive semi-colon “afterthought” inclusions; scatter brained. Tenor of the Obama speech is of a Harvard elitist feel, a cold and calculating frigidity. This Obama speech writer walks a reader into huge echoing university lecture hall.
This speech of Kyl is well written and flows smoothly. Kyl employs a talented ghostwriter. His speech is constructed by a person who really knows how write; almost no grammar errors. Transitions between paragraphs and topics is smooth and flowing. This Kyl speech is written to impart a friendly feel of sitting at kitchen table while having breakfast and coffee. This Kyl speech writer walks a reader into a small cozy kitchen of a typical American family.
This English professor is disturbed by a persistent habit of Obama and his ghostwriter; lousy writing.
“And that by giving back to our communities, by serving people in need, we reaffirm our ideals….”
Note this “And” at the beginning of my sample sentence from the Obama speech. Makes me grit my teeth each time Obama begins a sentence with “And”. Making this worse, this specific case example of high school level writing uses “And that” to begin a sentence. This is taboo, this is forbidden in good writing. This is sophomoric, is grammar school childish. His sentence is to begin with “By giving….”
If you, the reader, will take a bit of time to review Obama’s speeches from campaign to election to presidency, you will note with annoyance this psychotic habit of Obama to begin sentences with “And” over and over. This is a symptom of being scattered brained, this is a symptom of suffering poor communication skills. This is indicative of a person who does not think before speaking. This “And” habit of Obama evidences he adds “afterthought” rather than speaking planned “forethought”.
This scatter brained thinking of Obama is easier to spot when he does not have his TelePrompTer. Without a prepared speech, Obama stammers and stutters his way through disjointed random thoughts. Obama is incapable of formulating smooth flowing thoughts.
“And that by giving back to our communities, by serving people in need, we reaffirm our ideals….”
There is something more disturbing found in this sample quote. What disturbs me is Obama’s words are simply awash in socialist thinking.
I take notice of those subtle clues in English language. Ironically, English is not my native tongue.

Yep. There are times I want to reach into the boy’s mouth and pull his words out. Drives me crazy to sit and wait for Obama to quit all his stammering and stuttering, “and… ah… and… ah… and…”
I contribute this thinking problem of Obama to his lacking self-confidence, to his not being very bright and especially to his being a sissy boy. When pressed to think on his own two feet, the boy falls flat on his face, tongue tied. Let’s hope his red phone never rings at three in the morning.

Obama is not a good speaker, quite the opposite, he is a lousy speaker. His mind is full of jumbled up thoughts and his poor choice of words reflect this disarray of thoughts in his head.

I for one am glad Obama didn’t go to Ground Zero. It is sacred ground and I’m not sure where his loyalties are. Isn‘t it sad that the president of the USA is so divisive and controversial that he can’t even go to NYC on 9/11. It’s his own fault. He brought all of this onto himself by apologizing for America, kissing up to our enemies and by willingly listening to Rev Wright blame 9/11 on America. It feels like America is not only fighting our enemies abroad, but our biggest threat is right here at home.

After 9-11 what brought people together was the universal personally felt grief and globally recognized need for Justice and Closure. That is why even in England there were some people carrying American flags in reaction to this. It was a time where all the world was looking to do what is right in response and it was an easy path to see. Politics were not a factor in what brought us together.
Acting without worrying about agendas is what I feel lead to the unprecedented bipartisan unanimity on so much. You can’t do that with Czars. If Obama will put away progressivism and politics following his heart and God I could see us getting together again. It would be nice if all politicians could do that.

I am furious that it had to get this bad before America woke up to what the demolibersocialcommies have been getting away with since the 1960′s. Yes, we are also one nation with one vision. What Mr. O doesn’t accept is that radicial islam has another vision…sharia law. That is NOT a vision I can share. It does not fit the American concept of freedom or liberty.
And regarding the post on “paranoia” … it is not good to have paranoia if no one is “out there” to do you harm…but when there IS a real threat???? That’s not paranoia. That’s rational survival… that is sanity. Insanity is closing your eyes and refusing to see what is going on all around you. I am not saying all Muslims are bad…. I am saying Sharia law is dangerous. I do believe there is something very very unsettling about this whole NYC mosque. Something is not right!

I was raised that we don’t treat a President that way, no matter what party he is in and what his policies are. Our Founding Fathers told us how to handle situations like this – vote against him in the next election and pray for him to make wise decisions. I am so disappointed in all of you who comment on this website. All you do is make yourselves look foolish to the rest of the world – other people are laughing at you and this website and our country because of the Obama bashing you take part in. Vote them out, yes… but our founders themselves spoke out against tyranny repeatedly putting their lives, their families, and their fortunes at risk.. We must never become complacent. On 8.28 I met a vet who shared with me the history of DC. and the reason DC is not a state. It was because the founders felt it was important to have a place for the people to assemble to address what the federal government was doing as it governed as a republic. Yes, the Office of the President does deserve respect, and I do give respect to the Office of President. The problem is that the current president is violating his oath to “preserve and protect the constitution of the United States of America”. While you may believe the “world” is laughing at our comments, where else in the world CAN a person voice grievances as we are doing…where else in the world can a person insist that the government is to serve the people and not the people to serve the governement. We must speak out…or we will lose our freedom…we will lose our country. It is imperative that we speak out.

Walkwithme, I do agree with you that we should not insult the president personally and we should definitely pray for him. But I do agree wtih Solvitur that we need to speak out against policies. Political beliefs, policies and actions are separate from the president personally for those are the things that govern the land. And if he is promoting policy that takes away our freedom, or he lies, or he promotes things against God’s will made clear in the Bible, then I have a responsibility to speak against that policy and those words in a respectful manner.

Sorry that I was not able to respond right away. I had to go work for a little while.
All you have to do is look at the destruction of our work force and society as a whole. The motivation to work hard and be good at what you do has SLOWLY been extracted from our American Culture through the ever enlarging entitlement system and the expanding regulatory agencies. Yes, it is the peoples fault that they have chosen to delegate that authority to the goernment, but not all of us have been willing to take the dangling carrot.
Some of us were smart enough to know that nothing is for free. The payback will be ten fold.
This president has a philosophy of, he knows better than you. This has been failing for decades and will continue to fail. You can count on that. That is why we cannot have a president that believes the government is the answer.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to “debate” you.
