President Obama: Hey, We ‘Rescued’ the Auto Industry, Why Not Every Industry?

In an attempt to draw a clear contrast between himself and his Republican opponent, President Obama on Thursday touted his supposed “rescue“ of the auto industry and claimed that he intends to do the same for ”every industry”:

“I said, I believe in American workers, I believe in this this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back,” the president said during a campaign speech in Pueblo, Colo. “Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.”

“I don’t want those jobs taking root in places like China, I want those jobs taking root in places like Pueblo,” he added.

The president also advocated the renewal of tax credits for “green” energy projects and spoke about establishing credits for companies that bring jobs back from overseas.

“Gov. Romney brags about his private sector experience, but it was mostly invested in companies, some of which were called ‘pioneers of outsourcing,’” the president said. “I don’t want to be a pioneer of outsourcing. I want to insource.”

      Yes, GM is number one in sales and the GM Corporation still owes 27 Billion Dollars to us tax payers, so there isn’t much to brag about. Ford set at 15% and GM is 17% in the auto and truck sales market as of July 2012, and Chrysler is supposedly on come back stands at 10.9%, If Obozo hadn’t made a push to purchase GM products for federal vehicle replacements such as 100 Chevrolet Volts and 5,600 GMAC hybrids, the outcome would have been different for GM.

      I can’t understand why we can take over a car MFG and not come up with a Government Oil Co. Our government leases oil rights on government owned land and they are the biggest land owners in the USA. Here in Oklahoma the EPA has nearly shut down drilling. The day of the little guy drilling and hitting a gusher is over. If Obama would start the Government Oil Co.(GOC) they could put millions to work and start a new union at the same time. It would men and auto re-elect also.

Let me ask you this. When the Govt. loaned GM money, GM did some stuff with the money, but GM sent money overseas to Banks. So whats wrong with that, you ask? We still owe the money and in case you’ve forgot, were borrowing 40 to 60 cents per dollar just to pay China for money GM sent to the EU Banks!       It’s a shame that people like TXDAVE22 probably vote. The highest DIJA was in October of 2007, during the Bush administration. It was over 14,000 at that point. You take the lowest point at the end of the Bush years, during the collapse, which we can argue WHY we went into this recession in the first place. You don‘t take into effect the failed stimulus or the monetizing of the debt and the damage it’s doing to the dollar. Useful Idiots compare apples to oranges.       Obama took over G.M. and turned over the assets to his union buddies and in doing so, he cut the throats of every stockholder (From major stockholders, IRA holdingers along with small investors holding only a couple of hundred shares) by giving them only cents on the dollar for their investments while padding the union’s coffers.

      I love my “Burb” but again, I will not support GOVERNMENT MOTORS!!!!!

      How about a little history lesson. Check on the government purchase of Chrysler vehicles after Reagan provided GUARANTEED government loans to bail them out. So in Reagan’s approach the investors were made whole and the banks made money. So the government took on all the risk, with no potential upside when the company was turned around. Capitalism doesn’t mean the government takes all the risk while the investors and bankers are kept whole and are the only beneficiaries of the upside. And yes it is reasonable that the auto workers have an equal seat at the table and are protected during the restructuring at least as much as the investors and bankers. Let’s keep in mind who does the actual work that generates the revenue.

      Government Motors is sucking eggs. The Volt is an Obozo like colossal disastrous failure. They shafted the Private Sector Citizens to the tune of 10 billion dollars. They still owe the giant toilet bowl (federal government) 27 billion, and the sales are down 40% from last year.

      They are buying me off, and many other retirees. They can’t afford us, every year the letter that’s mandatory shows retirement UNDERFUNDED. I’m taking the money and running, already talked to my banker, I’ll be safer there and GM can do the epic fail it deserves. Hope the Dephi suit wins for the screwed over. Obama is without doubt the worst thing that EVER happened to this country. Well, except that he woke us up-bigtime.

      Obozo has borrowed 6 trillion dollars more money than we take in just 3.5 years. His campaign plank is that he is going to cut taxes to the middle class, but all he is really proposing is to keep tax rates the same to people who are middle class, and poor.. Half of those don’t even pay taxes. He has destroyed the country and a dozen eggs just went up over a dollar at my local super market today. These leftist are so clueless.     Really Barry? The auto industry has come “roaring back”? Let’s see, GM’s profits fell 41% in the last quarter and they still owe us $25 BILLION. That is your definition of “roaring back”? I’m not surprised considering you think 8.3% unemployment is the definition of “doing fine”.

    Who is “we” Obama? Do you have a turd in your pocket? So you are taking credit for “rescuing” the auto industry huh. How was that done exactly? By screwing people who were not union members out of their pensions? By closing family owned dealerships against their will? By forgiving the billions of dollars of debt and leaving bond holders and parts suppliers hanging out to dry? Is that how YOU did it? What about FORD? They are still here after they declined to be bailed out. We already have bankruptcy laws to deal with companies like GM and Chrysler. The reason they were in trouble was BECAUSE of the unions you helped out. You didn’t save the auto industry you lying SOB, you saved the unions in exchange for their support. That‘s the Chicago way isn’t it?

    Government bankruptcy was better then a normal bankruptcy? I wonder how the small town dealerships and their families feel about this one? So we paid to bail them out. Have we also paid to prop up their sales? Check your local and state government vehicle purchases in the last few years.

    Where are the critical thinkers in America? I don’t think they are in that crowd.

    “The Detroit automaker (GM) said Thursday that its second-quarter net profit fell 41 percent on a big loss in Europe. And there are signs that North America, GM’s main income source, also is slowing. Profits there have fallen for two straight quarters, the first time that’s happened since the company left bankruptcy in 2009.”

    Now I know why Obama hasn’t met with his “economic counsel” in over 6 months..he’s been meeting with his “choom gang” instead.

    I can’t wait for the debates when Romney takes Obama to school instead of Obama crowing anything that comes into his lying head before a crowd of the faithful.

      They say that profits are down mostly overseas, but here in the USA profits are steady. Unfortunately, they conveniently left out the fact that most of those numbers are directly correlated with the HUGE government contracts they have for fleet sales!!! So, Government Motors stays in business selling cars to the Government, imagine that!!!!
