‘President Obama, You‘re Killing Us Out Here’: See the Hard-Hitting New Romney Ad

The Romney campaign released an ad Thursday attacking President Obama for his “You Didn’t Build That” speech. And it’s a blistering assault:

“My father’s hands didn’t build this company? My hands didn’t build this company? My son’s hands aren’t building this company? Did somebody else take out the loan on my father’s house to finance the equipment?” asks New Hampshire business owner Jack Gilchrist who, along with his family, operates Gilchrist Metal Fabricating Company.

“Did somebody else make payroll every week or figure out where it’s coming from? President Obama, you’re killing us out here. Through hard work and a little bit of luck, we built this business. Why are you demonizing us for it? We are the solution, not the problem,” he adds.

The video, titled “These Hands,” is part of an increasingly critical ad campaign from the Romney camp. And should the tone of these new ads come as a surprise?

As it turns out, if you go around implying a guy’s a possible felon, mock his wife for her multiple sclerosis therapy, and then tell him to “put on his big boy pants” when he questions your tactics, he might do just that.

What we’re trying to say is that everyone has a breaking point and Team Obama may have found Mitt Romney’s.

“[F]acing what the candidate and his aides believe to be a series of surprisingly ruthless, unfounded, and unfair attacks from the Obama campaign on Romney’s finances and business record, the Republican’s campaign is now prepared to go eye for an eye in an intense, no-holds-barred act of political reprisal,” writes BuzzFeed’s McKay Coppins .

Indeed, as it has become increasingly clear Team Hopenchange is more than willing to get down and dirty, we should probably expect a full-on, gloves-off brawl between the Romney “Death Star” and the Obama “Chicago Machine.”

“[Obama's] policies have been such utter failures, the only thing he can do is to try to destroy a decent man and his wife,” a Romney adviser told BuzzFeed.

“So he gets some hack political adviser from Chicago who has nothing to point to in her own life, and tells her to call him a felon… When did our politics get to that point? I mean, it’s Nixonian,” the adviser added.

However, because both campaigns are well-oiled and have deep pockets, this slugfest probably won’t be decided by who can outspend who or who can out-organize the other.

It’ll most likely come down to which campaign makes the biggest mistake.

So far, Mitt Romney has a few missteps under his belt and Team Obama has taken advantage of each and every one. But, right now, President Obama may have really stepped in it last Friday night when he told the nation’s small business owners that government, not their own determination or hard work, is responsible for their success.

And you better believe Romney’s boys back in Boston are going to capitalize on this and go for Team Obama’s throat.

“Obama has always benefited from being able to shape the argument such that he avoided harsh negative attacks,” one Romney adviser told BuzzFeed.

“That served him well. He made other pay a price for going negative. These past couple weeks have completely squandered that positioning. They are now taunting how tough they are. OK, but once you cross that line, there is no going back,” they added.

Final Thought: Now, strictly speaking, the president wasn’t wrong when he said society (as a whole) has a place in individual success. The social contract, that thing Hobbes talks about, does enable us to flourish and grow.

But the way in which the president delivered these prepared remarks was so abrasive and inflammatory that it’s almost impossible to not brush it off as pure leftist nonsense.

Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey gives an excellent analysis:

… had Obama not been so ham-fisted in his construction, he would have had a good point about the balance between liberty and the government that secures it. We do need to have roads and bridges and the like that allow sellers and buyers to find each other; we need some regulation to prevent fraud and theft, in order to make markets operate efficiently and honestly. Our system of constitutional self-government provides a framework that allows for enough governance to provide those necessary checks without becoming overbearing, and without government distorting those markets for the preferred outcomes of elites rather than the outcomes decided by voluntary associations in the marketplace.

Unfortunately, we have deviated far down the latter path for decades, and Obama wants to go even farther down a road that leads to economic stagnation and the stunting of liberty. That path also leads to the arrogance and ignorance on display when a politician who has never operated his own business or worked in any significant manner in the private sector tells people who took enormous risks to start their own businesses that “you didn’t build that” and “someone else made that happen.” Of course the business owner built the business and was primarily the one that “made it happen”; without someone willing to take the risk, businesses wouldn’t get built at all.

“Obama took an opportunity to make a good point and booted it into the realm of clueless-elite satire,” Morrissey concludes. “Whether or not it took a White House village to create that speech, Obama made it…happen.

Like the guy says that we are the answer (not government), we need to be rewarded for success (back to a merit based society), Restore America back to a merit based society.

Agree completely…. and watching the ad… where the final thing was Romney… Believe in America…. what a contrast between that and Obama’s “slogan” FORWARD. No, that Marxist slogan was not unwittingly chosen… as some in lamestream media have pondered… There is not a chance of one out of trillions (yeah makes you think of deficits), that Obama would not know that FORWARD was a battle cry of Marxist progressives. I think it was a purposeful choice to stick it right in America’s faces….. wish Romney would point that out… as he would get good mileage because once he pointed it out and got into people’s minds, they would remember that contrast everytime they saw the FORWARD slogan… a good long lasting effect or lifetime for the ad.

Progressiveslayer, We got what we got? Paul is not out of the race yet. He does have the plurality of delegates in 6-7 states, his name will be placed in for nomination, Paul will give a great speech at the convention and I fully expect a judge to unbind all the delegates for the first round of voting. So, we do not have anything yet. The battle still rages. If enough people or delegates wake up before the convention, Paul could in fact win the nomination.

This ad needs to play and play and play until election day. I would like to offer Romney our families small business story! Keep making these ads. This is the message that they need to hear. This and him saying the govenment needs more money for jobs “but the private sector is doing just fine”. Put the two comments together with the stories of small business owners. Then make an ad of doctors saying how Obamacare will kill their practice, get some who are “retiring”. I lost both my doctor and my pharmacist in this last month…“retired”.

Tired of having a president say that if your successful its not because you have an education or work hard to be successful, or that generations of your family didn’t dedicate their lives to their business or trade. No, No, you didn’t invent that someone else did. No, No, you didn’t come up with that concept, someone else did. No, No, your family didn’t work for generations to build a business to where it is today… someone else did..

If Obama goes one more term or is not impeached strictly for that speech alone then I have lost all faith in the United States of America. This country was founded on hard work, dedication, small businesses, and new ventures. For anyone, especially our nations leader to demonize literally everything our country stands for is not only insulting it’s down right repugnant.

I’m always struck by presidents who think, well, it must be because I was more popular than the last guys. There where allot more popular before you. It must be because I was better than the last guys. Let me tell you something — There’s been a whole lot better than you.

If you are president, someone along the line gave you a whole lot of help. There was a great deceiver somewhere in your life. Someone has helped you con this undiscerning American system that has unwillingly allowed you to strive. Someone invested in your lies and pompous arrogance. If you got in office — you didn’t do that. Somebody else made that happen..

      —–
NO, absolutely not. That balance ALREADY EXISTS in a Constitutional Republic, so the point is moot. The only reason Obama brings it up is because he wants to transform our free enterprise system into a govt.-controlled economy.

Commies destroy capitalism by DE-LEGITIMIZING free enterprise: “That business is not yours. It belongs to the govt., because the govt. provided the infrastructure.” Pure BS. If that’s your claim, Barack, then let’s take it all the way back to origins: WE THE PEOPLE ELECT THE GOVERNMENT. Better yet, We the People instituted the FORM OF GOVT. we wanted, and established its boundaries and obligations. We crafted you, not the other way around.

Did you see the Terminator series, Mr. Commie? You need to, because you are a corrupt, broken machine; a degenerate version of Skynet. You think you own us and you want to control us, but I’ve got news for you: Although Salvation tarries, it will come. If we have to perform a hard drive wipe and reset the machine, so be it. TexasGranny, I do not know many Paul supporters that will hold their nose, especially with the way they were treated during the primary with the RNC, Romney’s campaign and establishment GOP violating federal law against them. Here is one instance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzyGtc61Ph8&feature=youtu.be
So, even though you are not worried about my one write in vote, you should be worried about the several million write in votes that will be along with mine. Romney is not going to win, sorry. He does not have the backing he needs, heII, he cannot even get 100% of Republicans. What makes you think he can get enough Independents, which many are Paul supporters? The youth? They will either vote Obama, write in Paul or stay home. Democrats? Seriously.
      Another Ronald Reagan quote:
“If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberals — if we were back in the days of the Revolution, so-called conservatives today would be the Liberals and the liberals would be the Tories. The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is.” – Ronald Reagan

VERCEOFREASON, I seriously doubt that you are old enough since your musings are generally juvenile. But, maybe I’m wrong. I covered this yesterday on another article, but it needs to be repeated here. Romney has released two years of tax returns which are hundreds of pages. The third is about to be released shortly. All of which are not required by any law to be released, but it is a courtesy. One thing, we already know he is wealthy. Are you trying to say that he is out of touch with the common man? Or accuse him of being a tax cheat. Bet the IRS has audited him each of the last 3 years. But, lets drop back to the presidential race of 2004. Let’s take John Kerry for instance. Wealthy guy, right? How wealthy? Roughly a little over five times the wealth of the Romney family. Does that mean Kerry is 5 times more out of touch than Romney? Well, my point is, if you are old enough I bet you gladly voted for him regardless how wealthy he was. Oh yeah, for his presidential run, how many tax returns did he release to the national media? Answer: 2. Yes, he had released others earlier during each 6 year term for the senate, but only 2 for his presidential run. So, keep running that crap hole under your nose while being hypocritical as almost all little lib-turds.

But speaking of not paying taxes, Barry‘s ’hero’, Warren Buffet owes the FedGov about $366 MILLION ($366,000,000.00) in BACK TAXES for his Berkshire Hathaway Co. And that goes all the way back to 2002! So much about ‘paying your fair share’, huh TROLL.

Yeah, lets talk about “rich guy loopholes”. Do you take a mortgage deduction on your taxes? There’s a pretty big loophole that lets the govt pay part of your house. How about your medical care through your company? There‘s a huge loophole that small businesses don’t get that and it directly benefits YOU. Or perhaps you take the biggest loophole of all: maybe you‘re don’t even PAY income taxes like 48% of the population don’t.

You just don‘t like someone else’s loopholes, but you sure love your own.

Obama has the proverbial three fingers pointing back at him. No one is more out of touch with the common man than a commie elite. What does Barack ever do except party, travel and play golf? His Jobs Council hasn’t met in six months (not that it even matters). Barack throws crumbs under the table for the poor to lick, but he won’t allow them to use vouchers so their kids can get a better education and break the poverty cycle. What a hypocrite.

I’m using that line as my Come & Take It moment. Obama & his advisers have not the slightest idea of how bad this really is for them. Nor do they seem to care & the surrogates are doubling down. Many are just keeping quite & going about the normal routine. This is in the minds of most business people. The backlash will come quietly @ the polls. I swear this man is trying to lose in the most grandiose fashion possible. His people want him there another 4.

This is what we are looking for – A leader!!! We need more ads like this!!! We need Romni to feel and spread this kind of passion for the individual, for the “I Can Americans”, for the American dream. We can, as humble servants of God, use the gifts given us by God, to create things yet unknown to man, known only to the creator of the universe. Set us free and watch the miracles begin.

      I’ve been dreading the possibility of that myself, but he needs an issue;

Major California earthquake might do it, but inner-city riots are easily planned and executed. Remember that the pigs at OWS are recruiting a militant arm and calling them Black Bloc, aimed at physically challenging police forces; no doubt financed by Soros and his ilk; no doubt backed by union thugs and college Leftists. They are planning riots to break out in major cities prior to the election and they’ll set these off “flash-mob” style. L.A. would fold under the weight of political cowardice; Chicago will gleefully participate, as will Newark, NJ, Harrisburg and Philly, PA, Detroit, etc…

This is the first truly inspiring and dead-on political ad I’ve seen from the Romney camp. Whoever came up with this should be cut loose to help craft more of his commercials. This election is all about each candidate getting his base excited to show up and vote. I believe, and have believed for quite some time, that many (maybe millions) of voters who voted for the first time in their lives in an election in 2008 to put Obama in office will not feel compelled to return to the polling stations in 2012. Barack Obama inspires me to vote in 2012. I would charge through a pack of Black Panthers to vote against him in November. If Romney can demonstrate and dictate a conservative message, that is simply icing on the cake. Romney’s REAL test will be stepping up and doing the right things needed to preserve this Republic and ensure that liberty is revived. It will be a tough task, and will require a strong measure of courage from alot of previously spineless politicians.

Isn’t it ironic that Obama says the government builds the roads and infrastucture that support businesses in the U.S. Yet that infrastructure is paid by our tax dollars and most of those tax dollars come from hard working business ownerss and enteprenuers. Now the ones that use the infrastructure to get their government handouts, they didn’t build anything, especially a life of hard work and an example for their children. What can you expect from a man that never did a hard day’s work in his life. Mrs. Romney has worked harder than Barrack Obama.

Although Morrissey is technically correct – Obama could have made a legitimate point – he misses the critcal purpose behind Obama’s statement. The way the Marxists/OWS/radical left rationalize taking other people‘s money is by convincing themselves that the people who have money don’t deserve it.

Obama’s base is comprised mainly of slack-jawed mouthbreathers who have never paid taxes in their lives. They are the takers. But by telling him that THEY created Apple, THEY created Microsoft, THEY created the corner bakery, Obama provides them with the moral figleaf they require to justify his redistributive ideals.

In short, Obama made exactly the point he intended to make. And this country would be well advised to stop trying to interpret it as anything other that what it was: a clarion call for Marxist redistribution of wealth.
