Christina Romer, the former chair of Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers on Friday offered a rather strong opinion concerning the announcement by Standard & Poor‘s that the credit rating agency downgraded America’s debt to AA+.
Appearing on HBO’s “Real Time,” Romer said we’re “pretty darn f–ked.”
Was she just joking? You be the judge. And, yes, the content warning applies:

Posted on August 6, 2011 at 10:47amThis woman has always been a joke. She giggles, she laughs, all the while planning the destruction of America with Obama. Now, she’s a teacher! Great, those who can, do, those who can’t, teach. Obama needs to go!!!

Posted on August 6, 2011 at 10:46amYes they are right on target, getting this nation as buried as it can within the time frame that we give them to do it. I did notice the smile as they said that we are f***ed, they really take pride in sinking a ship that they said could not sink. Bravo lib’s, borrow some more money and give it away to keep that ball rolling.

Posted on August 6, 2011 at 10:45amAnd the most ridiculous part is that we are paying these people to bring our own demise. So….if the councils and czars aren’t actually doing what they should be, what exactly do you think they are doing behind the scenes when they get together?
Add to that the fact that it is the tax-paying Tea Partiers that are the idiots and the real problem in this country. So…..we also pay these people to insult and belittle us. Their plan is working even better than they thought it would.

Posted on August 6, 2011 at 10:36amBill Maher is an example why humor is no longer funny. The comedians of today do nothing but ridicule and mock what used to be good in this world that they are ignorant of. Self deprication used to be what made lasting humor. The subject doesn’t matter but the arrogance does. Maher drips arrogance and is a very good example of someone who has absolutely nothing to be arrogant about. That is another leading quality of a liberal, lashing out at people that do things they can not do or understand. “We never failed to fail” to coin a phrase.

Posted on August 6, 2011 at 10:49amYours and most of the other comments so far are dead on. Maher is a disgrace to the art of comedy and he has a lot of company in that category. His audience consists of a bunch of dysfunctional idiots that believe Cuba is Nirvana.

Posted on August 6, 2011 at 10:34amWhat countries are doing good? It seems some of those Arab countries aren’t doing too badly. The cost of protecting us from the evil of Islam is the main cause of our debt. It’s time we make the Muslims pay.

Posted on August 8, 2011 at 4:01pmWrong! .. Over 2/3rd’s of our spending each year is MANDATORY spending such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.
We borrow $0.40 per $1 we spend … So if 66% of each dollar goes to mandatory that leaves only 33% left for all the rest, such as defense, all of the departments: defense, education, commerce, etc.. If you eliminated the military we would still be running deficits, hence the absolute NEED to reform entitlements.

Posted on August 6, 2011 at 10:34amMaher’s audience seems to applaud at every proclamation containing profanity. I;m sure in their mind it all comes down to if the Republicans hadn’t held us hostage by forcing spending cuts instead of raising “Revenues” we would be fine.
I saw it posted and I can’t agree more. I will support a return to the Clinton tax rates, BUT we HAVE to return to the Clinton era spending.
Of course, that would gut the military again setting us up for ANOTHER upscale of the military leading to more debt when we have to do some kind of war.

Posted on August 6, 2011 at 10:30amJobs and change, “Yes we Can”. Less jobs and a change to the worse. Is it planned that way? If it isn’t planned, (to destroy this Nation) we have some individuals that do not need or belong in Washington D.C. making plans for us. There is not one program that has worked. How about the dealing with the Indians, failed. Post Office, failed. Housing, Fredie Mac, Fannie May failed, Health care, failed. Stimulus, failed, TARP, failed, Cash for clunkers, failed. Afghan, failing, Iraq, failing, Social Security, failing, Medicare, failing, Medicaid, (States) failing. And on and on. Why?
