‘Pretty Shocking’: Sen. Reid Decides Sen. Gillibrand Is ‘Hottest’ Member

Fresh off of calling Delaware candidate Chris “Bearded Marxist” Coons “my pet,” Sen. Harry Reid raised a few eyebrows at New York City fundraiser when he referred to the state’s junior senator, Kirsten Gillibrand, as “the hottest member” of the U.S. Senate. Politico reports she was sitting just a few feet away at the time:
The comment prompted Gillibrand to turn red, according to the sources, and created a bit of stir among the small crowd there.
“It was pretty shocking when he said it,” said one source familiar with the remark and the reaction.
A Reid spokesman confirmed it happened, but also noted that the Democratic Majority Leader also praised Gillibrand for her work.
