Private Eye Locates Homeless Man to Give Him Good News Hes Rich!

The Melitzer Family last heard from Max last September (Deseret News) A private investigator says he has tracked down a homeless Utah man and delivered some good news: He's inherited a lot of money.

David Lundberg says he found Max Melitzer pushing a shopping cart filled with personal possessions in a Salt Lake City park Saturday afternoon.

Lundberg declines to disclose how much money Melitzer will be receiving, but says the man’s brother who died of cancer last year left him a “significant” amount in his will.

He says Melitzer was “in shock” after learning of the inheritance.

Lundberg says he was hired by the family’s New York law firm to locate Melitzer, and some family members plan to meet Melitzer next week in Salt Lake City.

YING, you must be to young to realize that death is the natural cycle of life. From the second we are born we start to die. It is a thing of NATURE, not “backward brainwashing” and in normal people the workings of nature are accepted as a truism of the ages.
The “mentality of a racist” you proclaimed we have,in which we love money more than the race, I would like to see further explaination of. You are trying to inter-mix the worldly goods of a human being who does not exist any longer no matter his color or wealth.

Yeah, his family members will be there to meet him…now that he has money. Where were those family members when he was in the street. Apparently they found him, when they wanted to, so they could have found him before his brother died. But then again, he would not have any money for them to scam off of him. He needs to get a mental evaluation, be appointed a conservator by the court that is not blood related, or they will use him up till he is broke and kick him back to the gutter.

Here come the leeches, his family didn’t give a damn about him when he was homeless but will surely be sucking up to him now. They‘ll probably drain him dry and then he’ll be right back to where he was all over again. This commonly seems to happen with lottery winners too.

I hope your wrong, but know you could be right. I had a wealthy uncle die several yrs ago and it tore my family apart. My aunt and other uncle robbed him blind leading up to his death and then screwed my parents over their portion of the inheritance. Broke my dads heart (the 2 uncles were his brothers).

      Same here.
Mental illness is the cause of many on the streets, seems possible here. The family can only have him hospitalized if he is a danger to others or actively suicidal. If he does have problems, hopefully the family will help him with some of that money! Otherwise, he won’t have it long and he will be back on the streets.

      IN AMERICA ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE

Though under this economy you have to wonder. The President as we saw this week doesn’t really care about the economy with all his poor jokes about the economy. Thankfully the GOP candidates are talking like they are taking it seriously.

The best ads I think are from Romney and the GOP:

Hollywood will make a movie about it, however the “brother” will be the government and the “homeless guy” would be a broken down Conservative and the government made him wealthy, happy and tolerant of everyone (except evil Christians) and he lived happily ever after.

      Hey Blazers,

This is worth reading. Not sure I agree with his final decision but he details the judicial system very well and how it causes a lot of homelessness due to mis-categorizing domestic violence. What has this country done to families???

Friend, you have no idea how hard families try to help their loved ones before it comes to homelessness.

It doesn’t matter how much money you have. The fact is, some people — largely because of their own actions — cannot be helped like you’d like to believe they can.

I have a brother who is brilliant. Positively brilliant. Could have done *anything* he wanted. But, well into his 40s, he battled us as he battled mental illness. I’ll spare you the details, but suffice it to say that we, his family, supported him in ways you cannot imagine. My parents probably spent several hundred thousand dollars over the years supporting (enabling!) and bailing him out of one scrape after another.

Finally, they cut the strings, and my brother was out on his hind end. After a while, he landed at the Salvation Army, which got him back on his feet, got him to FINALLY accept treatment, helped him find a job, an apartment, etc. GREAT organization. They were able to accomplish in a matter of weeks what we were unable to do over the course of almost 25 years.

The bottom line is, all the money in the world won’t cure or help someone who refuses to accept help and treatment.
