Pro-Life Group Exposes Planned Parenthood Mammogram ‘Corruption’

It‘s become part of Planned Parenthood’s mantra as conservatives fight to take away the organization’s federal funding: doing so would strip women of vital health services like breast exams and mammograms. But what if it wouldn’t? What if breast exams and mammograms aren’t as widespread as Planned Parenthood would lead us to believe? According to a new video from the pro-life group Live Action, that may well be the case.
In a new set of recordings posted on YouTube, Live Action — which busted Planned Parenthood for supporting child sex trafficking last month — reportedly called 30 Planned Parenthood clinics in 27 cities to see if they offer mammograms. None — not one — did.
Live Action explains on its website:
Every Planned Parenthood, without exception, tells [the Live Action caller] she will have to go elsewhere for a mammogram, and many clinics admit that no Planned Parenthood clinics provide this breast cancer screening procedure. “We don’t provide those services whatsoever,” admits a staffer at Planned Parenthood of Arizona. Planned Parenthood’s Comprehensive Health Center clinic in Overland Park, KS explains to the caller, “We actually don’t have a, um, mammogram machine, at our clinics.”
The video is based on a claim from Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards, who recently appeared on the “Joy Behar Show” to decry the Planned Parenthood defunding bill: “If this bill ever becomes law, millions of women in this country are gonna lose their healthcare access–not to abortion services–to basic family planning, you know, mammograms.”
A March 9 press release on the organization’s website reiterates that claim:
“Among its many harmful provisions, H.R. 1 proposes to completely eliminate the national family planning program as well as prohibit Planned Parenthood from receiving federal funds for any purpose, including for preventive health care, lifesaving cancer screenings, breast exams, birth control, HIV testing and STD testing and treatment. [Emphasis added]
Live Action’s video is below:
Live Action President Lila Rose says on the group’s website that the new video is just one more example of PP’s “corruption:”
“Planned Parenthood is first and foremost an abortion business, but Planned Parenthood and its allies will say almost anything to try and cover up that fact and preserve its taxpayer funding. It’s not surprising that an organization found concealing statutory rape and helping child sex traffickers would misrepresent its own services so brazenly, playing on women’s fears in order to protect their tax dollars.”

@Dawg…You have some valid criticism to be sure, but I wonder about two specific things:
1) In the Constitution, who do the founders say our inalienable rights come from?
2) Do you really think it’s fair (intellectually) to compare PP who RECEIVES funds confiscated from taxpayers to charitable organizations (like churches) that simply receive tax breaks?
3) I agree there is hypocrisy on both sides of the aisle, of course, we’re dealing with human beings here, and I’m with you in pointing that out; however, wouldn’t you say in this instance something needs to be done? Aren’t you angry that your tax dollars are going to an organization like Planned Parenthood, especially with all the things that have surfaced lately?

We provide pap smears, STD exams, birth control and family planning counseling as well as treatment for TB. We also provide flu shots and childhood immunizations. We do not offer mammograms or other cancer screening, nor are we open “all the time.” We operate Mon – Fri, 8:00 to 5:00.

No matter what twisted logic you are trying to use conception and birth are two separate events and the Constitution says that a person has to be born in the United States in order to eligible to become the President. In the one I read yesterday the interview ended with Sammon saying that although he considered it “far fetched” at the beginning he later found that it was “not far fetched” at all and that Ohbummer, indeed, was socialist. I see now where the PP rep used the term “mammogram” whereas the press release used the term “breast exam”. The former is false and the latter is true. Was this said to intentionally increase their perceived importance?… most likely. Was it part of a huge campaign on the part of PP to lie in order to keep their funding… I don’t see the evidence of that… yet.
Perhaps if the people who want PP to keep their federal funding donated to PP, rather then to political campaigns of those who would give away other peoples money, then PP wouldn’t need the federal funds in the first place.

These people just simply called all those Planned Parenthood offices and got the truth.
