Pro-Union Protester Uses Hard Blind-Side Shove on Opponent in Atlanta

Pro Union Protester Uses Hard Blind Side Shove on Opponent in Atlanta

This incident reportedly took place during a midday rally at the Georgia Capitol in Atlanta on Saturday.  Even though this was part of the nationwide campaign by MoveOn.org to hold rallies in all 50 state capitals, this even got very little press coverage. This is one of the few reports I found from WGCL-TV:

ATLANTA — Union activists rallied Saturday at the Georgia Capitol as part of a national campaign to support workers in Wisconsin.

Organizers say they are afraid a push by the Wisconsin governor to curtail labor unions in that state will spread nationally.

Participants are also protesting budget cuts which they say have become “dangerous.”

Today’s rally was sponsored by the AFL-CIO and MOVEON.ORG.

Now take a look at the video:

(h/t FireAndreaMitchell)

IMPORTANT EDITOR’S NOTE: We have just posted an interview with the Bill Greene, the victim in this attack, describing exactly what happened before, during and after the assault.  To hear that interview click here.

YouTube poster 1cfbjr caption the video this way:

This guy crossed the street and came into the group intentionally to thug it up.

There was a cop that I missed on the video.

You can see the officers trousers as I am trying to catch back up to the action and I am outside the barricade looking back in.

The cop stopped anyone from pursuing this freaking hero

Here’s a screen grab of the guy:

Some of the usual suspects were in attendance, like the International Action Center founded by Ramsey Clark.  You can see that in this picture from WGCL-TV:

Pro Union Protester Uses Hard Blind Side Shove on Opponent in Atlanta

This was a turbulent week for protest in Atlanta. On Wednesday a similar rally had some intense moments.  Progressives were already concerned because one conservative pre-rally post seemed to encourage Tea Party-types to bring weapons:

The advice that “attendees are requested to be flexible in your attire” is apparently a suggestion to keep firearms concealed. The original author goes on to claim that “the lefties are idiots who are very good at running their mouths… and also very good at keeping their distance from an armed American”.

A couple of posters advised against bringing firearms to the rally, but that point of view did not seem to carry the day.

While I could find no reports of violence at the Wednesday rally, there was indeed some ugliness exhibited toward the Tea Party:

I understand a lot of the nations workers are in unions. Some by choice, some because the only way they can work in their field of expertise is to be in the union. (ie union by FORCE).
I know most of these people are regular hard working folks. It is THESE people who need to stand up against the Neo-Marxists who have replaced the Mobsters as unions leaders. The union does NOT represent you OR the American way of life. They serve the Marxist cause & they are USING their members to that end.

that is strictly outside of his job title and duties. He is putting in a request for service that has to flow through 8 layers of bureaucracy before he will have authorization to bring in an authorized fingerer. And even that may not happen due to the fingerer filing a grievance with his shop steward because he was late from his 8th break of the day due to a faulty time clock which has been requisitioned but has not been approved by the aforementioned 8 layer burrito and when so approved there will need to be another service request to bring in an authorized installer for said timeclock and an officila request for accurate time.

Smitty1969, Like everything in our society the police officer of today is different. I find it intersting the new bread of officer likes the color black as a uniform, more significantly a militarized version. This has significant historical background. In Rome the Preatorian Guard was the only faction allowed to wear black; this was for intimidation purposes and to signify that they represented the Emporer and not the People of Rome. In Socialist Germany and Italy the SS wore black for the same reason. There can be no real reason to wear black as opposed to traditional dark blue other than the intimidation factor. The first time I saw black uniforms in the U.S., I knew from my history that this was significant. Is it possible the allegiance of the police force is shifting from the people to that of the state? We must stand vigilant against an oppressive state. I know many here will support the police without question, but remember Jeffersons quote,”Question boldly everything, even the existance of God…”

Remember the riots in L.A. after the Rodney King beating? The beating by police was wrong, but the riots that followed have shown us how the dems/left/socialists/progressives and blacks get their retribution. If Omama doesn’t win there will be more of that. Should we run and hide or face it? ….duh!

The Socialist/Communist/Progressive/Democratic element in America is pushing hard today. It’s wise to remember that more Americans died in our Civil war than all other wars combined. When good Patriotic Americans reach our tolerance level there will be hell to pay…make no mistake. If Unions keep pushing, the ones who survive will regret it later. …rf

      First @ Buckeye

Do something rather than just say you are ahamed as mentioned above.
I’ve heard too many Union members cry wolf and shame…
if you really are against your dues being used to promote violence
      please, please STAND UP!!!

Or don’t lay claim to being ashamed.

Granted it not easy and probably in a way dangerous and I am
not ‘picking on you’ – it’s your Union and your dues.
When enough of YOU get beyond the fear… maybe something
      positive and productive will happen.

@ all the concealed weapons folks…

don’t go to any tallies armed. It just what they want.
Don’t even think of it. Just think of the reponsibility of
carrying a weapon and it’s actual purpose.
I’ve been carrying in NY, of all places, for 30 years.
I teach combat, home defense and self protection weapons techniques.

In NY the law states ‘equal deadly force’ – so pulling a weapon
for being pushing or shoved is a heavy duty NO, NO.
Besides, what if some creep grabs the weapon, or a cop sees the weapon
      and draws down on you.

I believe that the quieter we all are on the right is best.
Eventually, the violence and stupidity of the union rally
protocols will get to the main stream news and people.

‘Never let the enemy know what you are thinking’

Things will get worst. Don’t become a headline.

The question I have now is, how long until Obama decides to send in the troops in order to establish his own policy of ‘public safety’ the first time someone gets hurt in a union started riot or shooting. I have the feeling something is coming, and soon, that he will use the troops against the people of this nation…he has already disregarded one law on the books by declaring it unconstitutional, now that he has started the trend what will keep him from making other such declarations..especially of ones such as the ‘possee comatatus’ act (if I spelled it right).

Same kind of thing happens at Tea Party rallys here in Northern IN. Union thugs protesting us on opposite corners intentionally cross the street and try to incite some kind of physical response. Never the other way around. The (unionized) police stay close to the Tea Partiers and watch in hopes of hauling one off to jail. We recognize the tactic and don’t fall for it, just shouting them down until they tire and go back to their scummy brethren. This scene is repeated over and over, but does the local liberal rag report on it honestly? Do I need to answer that?

I believe that the unions (or progressives not unionized) via MoveOn.org will need to initiate something major for things to blow up to the point of federal troops being used. Also, consider how slowly BHO moves to condemn anyone, foreign or domestic. He will need to be pushed pretty hard by the left before he makes any kind of administrative (police state) move against the anti-union protesters.

I honestly cannot see why people want to be with a union.

In Phoenix a couple of years back, we had the Fry’s foodstore workers go on strike, and finally the management gave in to the union calling for a raise across the board for all workers. Net result has been prices gone up noticeably on all items, the work force has been cut back, and the workers have been telling me that half of their new raise goes to the unions as dues.

      Only the union won.

@ Smitty. It is probably the reason I don’t go to a counter rally (violence). I carry a concealed firearm (legally) and if a 300 pound piece of debris was coming at me, he would learn why I carry. These bullies and thugs need to be arrested, prosecuted and jailed. In reference to your earlier post, yes Mr Obama is usually slow to denounce anyone, yet recall when the one officer (of beer gate fame) was accused of racism, the POTUS slammed down upon all of the officers of the land very quickly. He will do so if it becomes expedient for his agenda and that of his cronies and allies.

Obama fails to understand one thing though, in his calling for Libya’s Quaddafi to stand down due to his sacrificing the right to lead his nation, and the UN supporting the call with another of their useless resolution, he (Obama) is opening the door for the same to be done to him. And if that happens, then there is the door being opened for the UN to step into the US and assume control over it.

You guys don’t realize that there are many types of useful idiots on the Left
      • The regular rank and file that thinks the Union is on their side
      • The socialist and communist who think that the Goal is more important that life it self and willingly will put themselves in harms way.
      • The community organizers that think they will have a place in the new order. Sadly, this may not be the case.
      • Criminal element that don’t care as long as they get their cut.

Above them are the elite few that use the rhetoric to control these idiots. I have a relative that ask me somewhat bewildered — But Unions are good are they not? I told her that unions had become basically criminal organizations using Sol Alinsky tactics to extort money from Corporation and Government. I went on to say that collective bargaining in a public sector was nothing more that license to steal from the tax payer. It went on for hours but she began to see what I was getting to. She is still pro union but did not like what was going on.

The message has to be carry to everyone, the unions want the public to believe that this is a Robin hood moment that they defend them against the oppressors and the big fat cats. Only one problem with that assertion. The tax payer is now the “Fat Cats”. We have to expose the travesty of the Union Thugs so the message the Unions are trying to portray is revealed for the scam that it is. Rush calls it the great big money laundering operation for the democratic party. I believe that is 100% true. But this is only one aspect of the great conspiracy on the Left.

These pro-union protesters and the national tea parties are exactly the same – and I am very proud of all of these patriotic souls. I agree equally with the FOX descriptions, and think it’s great that the tea party demands that the public respect them and obey their wishes whenever “America speaks” at one of their rallies. And I’m sure they are ready to listen to and carry out the wishes of the pro-union protesters who are just as much “America speaking,” in fact, they are representing the will of the country exactly the same by temporarily occupying the public spotlight. It’s quite obvious both factions are patriotic and passionate, and both are quite moral, good-hearted citizens who care about our generations to come. That’s what I think. And I think Congress should treat them both with their due respect, like Senator Scott Brown would.

On a long boring day, a state worker decides to clean out an old filing cabinet. While poking around, he discovers a brass oil lamp inside. It’s a little dusty, so he gets a cloth and starts rubbing it clean. Instantly a puff of smoke comes out of the oil lamp, and a large genie appears. “Oh master, thank you for releasing me from the bottle,” he said, “I will now grant you three wishes.” The state worker thought carefully, and said, “Let me wish for a tropical paradise.” POOF, and the state worker was on an island in the South Pacific, a cold drink in his hand, and two buxom ladies smiling at him from the beach. “Okay genie, I now wish for a million dollars.” POOF, and large bricks of gold appear on the shore. At least a million dollars’ worth. “I wish I never had to work another day in my life!” said the state worker. POOF, his final wish was granted, and he was back in his office.
