One Wisconsin Now, a Madison-based progressive media advocacy group, is hoping to use the selective quotes and images of conservatives in order to spur liberal voters into action — an attempt to overcome the enthusiasm gap between liberals and conservatives in the upcoming midterm election.
On their list: Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, Wisconsin conservatives such as Rep. Paul Ryan and tea partiers — who they collectively classify as “the hate.”
Oh yeah, and they still don’t like George W. Bush:

Posted on October 21, 2010 at 11:56pmWhile everyone is entitled to their ‘opinion’, IMHBLO Beck is a motivator for myself and many others like me. I was convinced that the corruption in our government at every level, from local all the way up and in every corner, was institutionalized, systemic, irrevocably, hopelessly and irretrievably corrupt. And that Americans hadn’t the strength of character to confront it.
Well, that turns out to be incorrect. There are millions of Americans that have proven to me that they do in fact have the kind of character required to be considered caring “Americans”.
Contrast that with the left and it has been revealed with crystal clarity that there is a mind boggling population of numskulls whose critical thinking skills have been eviscerated by PC brain washing. Leaving them empty headed android like shells that mimic the taking points fed to them.
Beck challenges his viewers to THINK on their own. Nothing, absolutely nothing, makes a lefty dither more than the challenge of independent critical thought, theirs or some one else’.

Posted on October 22, 2010 at 12:04amIt takes a while for the People of America to finally get fed up, rialed up, and woke up to make changes in this country. Yet when we do, things happen, and the worst thing in this world someone wants to have for an opponent is the full fury of an awakened American People.

But they do know how music moves and they use it to their advantage. Always. It’s enough to make me sick. And especially in Madison, which I hear is a huge college town full of liberals. Right? :)

Posted on October 22, 2010 at 3:20pmHere‘s a comment I entered on Walkwithme’s web site (that she’s constantly promoting here) under a post calling for the Fox/Beck boycott by media matters and Tides. She promptly deleted it in true to form kill-the-messenger fashion. I guess I can’t blame her, because it pretty much obliterated her post, and I really need to be posting it here where someone will actually see it. I‘m calling on people to not sit idly by and let a few bullies create the false impression that there’s some kind of mass uprising in the country against Glenn and Fox:
First of all, Tide‘s and Media Matter’s argument about their political enemies inciting violence is built upon a foundation of hypocritical* bovine excrement. Now if you can point me (won’t happen) to an example of them also trying to silence Al Gore or Robert Kennedy Jr. due to their influence on Ted Kaczynski or the Discovery Channel terrorist, or ELF and ALF, or any number of other leftists influencing any number of individuals or groups toward violence, I’ll at least credit them for consistency. But of course their argument would still stink.
* http://tinyurl.com/Tides-pot-kettle
This transparent political ploy would have our political speech muzzled or at least chilled for fear of just where the line would be drawn next. I seem to remember Tim Robbins saying: “A Chill Wind is Blowing in This Nation”* — with reference to his perception that his political opposition to the war on terror was bringing him retribution, although I don’t think there was any kind of organized boycott of his movies at the order of some powerful right-wing multi-billion dollar foundation, and certainly not the White House itself.
* “I can’t tell you how moved I have been at the overwhelming support I have received from newspapers throughout the country in these past few days. I hold no illusions that all of these journalists agree with me on my views against the war. While the journalists’ outrage at the cancellation of our appearance in Cooperstown is not about my views, it is about my right to express these views. I am extremely grateful that there are those of you out there still with a fierce belief in constitutionally guaranteed rights. We need you, the press, now more than ever. This is a crucial moment for all of us.” — Tim Robbins, April 2003
The similarities of this campaign to the one waged by Islam are even more chilling. We’re simply not allowed to freely criticize Islam or mock Muhammad. To do so results in people getting killed, having to go into witness protection, or getting fired from NPR. The whole world‘s formerly free media cowers in fear of insulting someone’s ever changing idea of what constitutes a violation of their delicate sensibilities. So it is with Tides and MM. They‘ve decided that Glenn Beck has violated THEIR idea of what’s free speech, (because …pssst…. he’s got their number) and they‘re out for metaphorical blood in the form of someone’s livelihood. Who’s next, and what is going to be judged by them to be the next violation? The capacity for anyone being able to criticize them or someone else in their progressive sphere has been severely diminished. Does this really somehow ultimately bode well for democracy and liberty? Is muzzling people really a healthy thing? What are the consequences of causing frustration over not being able to express opinions without fear of someone showing up in front of your house or business with pickets and bullhorns? Tim Robbins, call your office. We need to hear from you on this. Are you consistent?
I would submit that campaigns like this are infinitely more dangerous and negatively influential on the behavior of unstable individuals than anything Glenn Beck has ever said. This is an assault on our bedrock principles of freedom of political speech and dissent, and serves to stir a much bigger pot and turns the heat up to a whole new level.
So yes independents and conservatives here at TheBlaze and even the seemingly few consistent liberals who still have some conception and appreciation for free and open political dissent and discussion on a TWO way street, go to that list of sponsors provided by Media Matters — who btw needs to be investigated by the next hopefully Republican congress for violation of their tax exempt status. Take that list and write to the companies, email them or call them. But instead of complaining about Fox or Beck, thank them for sponsoring programming you value. If you’re a liberal, tell them you appreciate FOX having lots of liberals on to fight for you. Thank them for not cowering to thugs and ginned up astroturf boycott campaigns. Let them know there’s more of you than them, and that your turf is natural. And also tell them that if they DO bow down to these disingenuous partisan gamers, then you WILL indeed boycott their products on THAT basis.
We can play this game too, Mr. Soros. I suggest we do, en-masse. Spread the word, people. Get the list, and go to work:

Mind you, in the above description of myself, Napolotano former governor of AZ (I jumped for joy the day she finally left) has already stated soon after she made it into office that people like myself are “potential terrorists.”

He then went on to say that he never thought that he could come to hate any victime even faster than that, until he saw the “scumbags” who took refuge in the Superdome after New Orleans was flooded by Hurricane Katrina. You can hear his actual words in context here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hf33g9ep4YU&

Does he really hate 911 victims? No. It is the left winged radicals that dont want us to call them terrorists and that dont want to prosecute them as Prisoners of War, they ahve been attaking us since forever, along with christian extremists or even athiest extremeists.
I dont think I have ever heard Beck say that he hates teh 911 victims or attackers, I have seen nothing but love and tolerance demonstrated by him and the fact that people want to critisize him for doing what he feels in his heart is right.,….also read the book of habakuk, since you want to quote the bible, tell me we are not headed down this path
I dont see how they get off calling tea partiers or limited government people racists, when in all the videos I have seen there are multiple races depicted and then I see a rally with the democrats where it looks like all one race or a majority of a race.
1 Timothy 6:17-18
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.

Posted on October 22, 2010 at 8:59amHere’s the game everyone: Remember when a few families were fighting over money and who would get it when decisions were being made who would get the payouts? Well it got so bad Glenn made a statement about their behavior. A few families, but they were coming across as selfish. Well the leftists have been trying to make hay about it ever since. Again, they are taking small peices of audio out of “context”. When you take the time (which none of them hope you do) to listen to the entire piece it makes sense. Instead of cooperating they were fighting over scraps.

He was talking about that small group of people, that you can find in any group, that go way overboard. We need to stop taking little snippets from the far left and far right that they feed us and hope believing it to be the whole truth.

Posted on October 22, 2010 at 2:45pmTo answer (as usual) you would need to hear the rest of the context. The very next thing Glenn said was “Not all of them, just a few…” who were essentially trying to capitalize on the tragedy. Anyone not poisoned with hatred knows Glenn has nothing against thee 9/11 families in general.
Report Post »That said, the comment was not one of his best moments, but hey, you try to talk 4 hours a day everyday without saying something ‘inartful’ once in a while!

Posted on October 22, 2010 at 5:03pmI’m actually glad someone asked this. I was recently in a discussion with a naive individual who claims to hate Glenn Beck because of statements like the one about the 9/11 families of the victims. I have listened to Beck long enough to know that this was somehow taken out of context. But I couldn’t find the source material and when I did a search for it, the stuff that came up was from sites like Mediamatters and other groups who hate Beck like that, so I felt sure they would edit it or take it out of context.
In any case, I would like to know more about the incident and it would have helped if the commenters here weren’t so quick to jump all over 13thgenerationamerican. Perhaps this guy is a known troll or something, but an honest answer rather than name calling would have helped a lot of people.
BTW, the commercial is deplorable. Talk about scare tactics.

Posted on October 23, 2010 at 9:33am@13thgenerationamerican – It’s pretty easy to google the comment and listen to it in context. He was referring to the entitlements that some people feel after a disaster (like 9/11 and Katrina). Glenn even reiterates twice that it is only very small portion of the victims and how they put a bad taste in people’s mouths, ruining it for everyone else.
