Fearless blogger Zombie informs us:

As you may have heard by now, San Francisco will be voting this November on whether or not to ban circumcision in the city.

Defenders of the measure say it’s all about “human rights” and “protecting babies” from unnecessary procedures.

But critics suspected there was something vaguely anti-Semitic about the whole proposal, since among Jews (and Muslims, as well) circumcising male babies is a religious duty, not just a mistaken medical procedure.

Ban proponents insisted their proposal had nothing to do with Jews — really, it’s all about the rights of children.

So, really, this has nothing to do with not liking Jews!  Oh, wait.  Because now there is the issue of …Foreskin Man!

The author of the anti-circumcision referendum is Matthew Hess.  San Francisco Chronicle’s Debra Saunders talked to Hess:

His website, mgmbill.org — which pushes “a bill to end male genital mutilation in the United States” –also pushes his literature and merchandise starring “Foreskin Man,” shown here at right.

The star cover image of his comic book shows a dark, bearded rabbi looming over a naked baby laying on a pool table, as a superheo appears ready to save the child.

Saunders asked Hess if his comic is anti-Semitic. His answer: “A lot of people have said that, but we’re not trying to be anti-Semitic. We’re trying to be pro-human rights.”

See? No worries! No anti-Semitism here!

    This is barely the begining. If obummer gets 4 more years, the list of different minority groups that suffer similar fates will start to expand. I know they play book they are using and I know the next steps. The hate is just begining. Its sad to see how easily man can be coaxed into repeating history.     OK seriously, can we stop with the use of the phrase “anti-semitic”. It is a misnomer, at least in the manner that its commonly used, and it baffles the mind why no one else seems to recognize this. My favorite is the people who say something akin to “they’re being anti-semitic and you notice they don’t say anything bad about the muslims” which is profound ignorance. A semite is not just a jewish person but is also arab, phoenician, or even ethiopian.

      @Rose-Ellen. Israel was chartered as a Jewish state. They have never attacked first-just defended themselves…any land gained was gained from self defence. They are the smallest nation in the area and yet kick butt whenever they are attacked.       Look I hate to be partisan here BUT… I went to college with a guy who had this done when he was 18. Not pretty, and a lot of pain. I say let the child decide, and the default is clip if no complaint (of course this only applies until the clip) but who the hell remembers being clipped?       All I know is that my brother was uncut and I was. After countless infections my brother had it done at age 41 and he said it was the most painfull procedure he has had and he was shot up in Viet Nam. I have never had any problems and my 3 sons are cut – no problems and my 4 grand sons are cut. None of us remember being cut.

      Yes, some people make different choices than you, that is life, that is how we get diversity, etc..
      Some people pierce the ears of, micro-chip, tattoo and sell their babies. As long as they dont kill their babies, the baby has the same chance as every other living thing on the planet. Everyone has made it in the past without these regulations, bans and laws… somehow we are all here..

      Why do we always have to ‘BAN’ something? Why can’t it be the choice of the parents or persons themselves when they are out of the parents custody?
