Prostitution ‘Tax Meters’ Unveiled in German Town

Prostitution, which is legal in Germany, must be taxed like any other industry. To make certain no tax dollar goes uncollected, the city of Bonn has installed the equivalent of “parking meters” on its streets to serve as depositories where prostitutes can pay their nightly taxes.
According to BBC, the prostitutes are taxed six euros per night, or, the equivalent of about nine U.S. dollars. Isabelle Klotz, a spokeswoman for the city, said they expect to collect roughly 200,000 euros per year from the meter:
Those who fail to pay face fines or even a ban, and 264 euros were found in the meter when it was first emptied, according to AFP news agency.
Tax has been levied on prostitutes elsewhere but Bonn is the first city to use a meter, a spokeswoman said.
But a prostitutes’ rights activist said the scheme amounted to double taxation.
Prostitutes are expected to pay the flat rate, regardless of earnings.
According to BBC, Bonn has also erected “consummation areas” — in this instance, wooden garages — where prostitutes may service their clients.

Even before capitalism was full developed, Germany under the monarchy in 1870′s introduced minimum wage laws, unemployment insurance, minimum working hours. As the result, immediately permanent unemployment occurred as predicted by free-market economists. Aristocrats and trade unions blamed the capitalism. Marxians felt the urge to join the chorus.
Big government just has that urge to tax. We should cut its hands by electing Ron Paul to White House and only people who will observe the Constitution to Congress.

Pimps don’t exist and extract their money because prostitution is illegal. They do it because they’re violent and exploitative of women, even moreso than the johns are. You might reduce the incentive for them if you legalize prostitution, but some men will still force “their” women to sell their bodies to make a profit. You can’t remove them from the equation that way, because you haven’t changed the fundamental problem: that they see women as property and a commodity. Better for society to discourage violence toward women by making it illegal to profit from sex, even if it’s tough to enforce. You can say I’m imposing my own morality if you want, but it’s really more about basic freedom: you can RULE that a woman’s body is her property by the fiat of law, but if you can still assign a monetary VALUE to that body, it’s still exploitable and therefore ownable by force of imposition of someone else.

Ron Paul has been speaking the same message for 30 years. There‘s no reason everyone shouldn’t know his message by now — Unless they are blinded by GOP (like I was for so many years).
I began looking for answers after 9/11, when Bush II didn’t close the border. What was with that? I learned it’s because he had bought into the “global agenda” that I believe will be the end of the US Constitution and America as it was meant to be. Democrats and Republicans BOTH are for the “new world order” as is Soros. Do you have a chance against these huge groups? The only chance I see is Ron Paul (and yes, I disagree with some of his stances, but his overall message will save America.)

I will vote for the republican candidate who ever that might be. Please do not sit at home on election night just because the person you like is not the candidate. How exactly does your view apply to the countless woman who are independent “escorts”, some models, some college students, some moms, etc…… Who exactly is exploiting them??
