Protesters Disrupt Newt Gingrich Harvard Speech With ‘Human Microphone’

Several protesters at Harvard University were escorted out after Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich got “mic checked” during an appearance Friday.
Protesters began screaming as soon as Gingrich took to the microphone, mockingly thanking him for standing up for corporations. Security officials quickly removed the demonstrators from the hall, Boston ABC affiliate WCVB-TV reported. There were no arrests.
In a video posted to YouTube by Occupy Boston, the group is heard shouting the following in the call-and-repeat style that has become the Occupy Wall Street movement’s signature [begins at the 3:40 mark]:
“Mic check!”
“We love you Newt!”
“Thank you for standing up for corporations!”
“They have rights too!”
“Thank you for understanding — ”
” — that simple point!”
“We are — ”
” — the 99 percent!”
The former House speaker was at Harvard to screen his documentary, “A City Upon a Hill: The Spirit of American Exceptionalism.” He did not appear rattled after the interruption, but said all of his appearances at Harvard have been interesting, the station reported.
Gingrich said later he feels “disoriented” in the wake of recent polls that have him on the rise among his fellow GOP candidates.
“Because as long as everybody thought I was dead in June and July, they didn’t pay any attention to me. When they thought I was just limping along they didn’t pay much attention to me. But I’m now I think – with Romney – we’re probably the two frontrunners,” he said.
Gingrich was similarly interrupted by Occupy protesters a day earlier during a campaign stop in Jacksonville, Fla. Speaking to a crowd of Tea Party supporters, several Occupy demonstrators shouted “mic check!“ and ”the 99 percent!” toward the end of his nearly 90-minute appearance, CNN reported.
“Hold on, I want to answer you directly,” Gingrich said to the demonstrators as his own supporters cheered him on. “There is no such thing in America as 99 percent. We are all 100 percent Americans. We are all part of America.”

Posted on November 20, 2011 at 8:13amAbout that national test of the emergency broadcast…..we have a local talk radio guy (John David Wells, on The Wells Report) who said that he was against it because of this….he’s been in radio for something like close to 30 years and he HAD to perform monthly tests, but HE did it. During this national test, the man in the booth talking had NO CONTROL over the radio in those close to 3 minutes. The control was taken from them. That is scary. This was not a voluntary test, it was government forced. I don’t know that I like government having a kill switch for all communications.

Isn’t this the time in our history to have someone just like this to deal with them, because whoever is elected the next President will have to for certain. Obama has a huge amount of the evil left backing him in every way. They will lie, cheat, steal even kill, oh yea, to get Obama reelected. Don’t doubt this for a moment. This is not the time to vote for your FAVORITE….which will separate our votes, thus Obama gets back in forever. Once Obama gets back in, he’ll make an executive decision to have no more elections and that he will be the once and for all DICTATOR of our country. This is the time we MUST join together as ONE, United to remove Obama and his evil CZARS and wanna be DICTATORS out of our government forever! Let’s do it, let us get to work now!

Posted on November 20, 2011 at 7:30amGRACE …the anarchy scenario is a real possiblity, what with the determination of the radical left shown over the last several decades. I’d agree with that part. However, if Obama were to use unrest (actually, any reason) as an excuse for martial law or to delay elections, the gig would be up for ol‘ Barack Hussein’s re-election campaign.
The Dems (other than the CBC and most extreme Whites in the party) would not support that action. However, the DOJ (sorry for the oxymoron) is polluted with extreme radicals. Many of those are bent on exacting revenge for once-existent discrimination. The hate-filled racists in the “civil rights” division are working on stealing the 2012 election as I type this.
That’s why I mentioned in another thread that there needs to be an overwhelming victory by whoever the Repub candidate is in order to assure Hussein is defeated.
No, I don‘t think you’ll see any type of country-wide martial law. I do see curfews in certain cities. Obama (and his partner-in crime) Holder will allow a certain amount of unrest to gin-up support by erergizing his radical base and the gullible young.

Report Post »Certainly, for me at least, R Paul is the closest to what this country needs ‘right now’. His track record with regard to the Constitution is impeccible. Might I add [that if you do not think that this is an important aspect] that you better study our founding and why it was done the way it was. As I’ve said before, you don’t have to believe that your rights come from GOD, but you better sure not believe that your rights come from man!
Michelle Bachmann, based on her record (and in my opinion), is legit Presidential material. I slightly favor Paul based on his past record and his committment to our Constitution, without which, our country will surely fall.
Newt is a brilliant man, and I believe would soundly defeat Obama in any debate. His command of facts in second to none, and can respond to just about anything thrown his way. If you say….”well, you know, his past history with his personal life is a concern, blah-blah-blah……….” I’d just have to laugh at that one. How about Obama’s past history with Ayars, Dohrn, Acorn, Wright, Pflager, Resko, and his “the Courts didn’t go far enough” (with regards to civil-rights legislation), “people cling to their guns and bibles” statement. I could go on for days about this anti-American man and the retributionist chip he has on his shoulder.
And he got elected!
Paul, for me, or Gingrich are the final choice for the candidate. you pick the VP.

“Paul doesn’t have the kahonas to express his position.”
Ron Paul the Libertarian doesn’t have the cajones to express a lot things. I personally think Ron Paul is a coward. Ron Paul knows full well that his closest connections are a mixed bag of the most extremist sort of anarcho-capitalists you have ever seen. He refuses to engage these subjects. He does not publicly dispute their claims. He sits on the sideline, collecting millions in campaign contributions as a candidate who has never ever ever won a single state primary (in what seems like a million attempts), but is never asked to separate himself from his lunatic friends like say… Lew Rockwell. It is appalling.
His platform to promote a “blame America first” foreign policy is so important to him, that he will not jeopardize his credibility by publicly saying in the national media that he believes “Abraham Lincoln was a warmonger”, or that “the cold war was a figment of our imaginations”. He believes that America is a malignant “dictatorship”, yet somehow has been accepted into the mainstream of American politics.
If you want to really know Ron Paul… all one has to do is look at his buddy Lew Rockwell and Lew Rockwell.com. Rockwell’s take on the Constitution is an eye opener to say the least.

Ron Paul supporters marched today through the snow from the State House to Faneuil Hall, then smashed the one-day fund-raising record for a Republican presidential candidate.
As of 7 p.m., the supporters said they had raked in $4.3 million, surpassing the record $4.2 million total they raised on Nov. 5.
Most of the 33,000 donations were made over the Internet in what the supporters called a “money bomb” timed to coincide with the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party.”

Lew has published Ron’s books. He has Paul speak at nearly every one of his conferences (to this day). And he accompanies Paul frequently in campaign travels. The two are joined at the hip politically, financially, and ideologically like Siamese Twins.
Yeah, just call me retarded CONSERVATARIAN.

Posted on November 19, 2011 at 10:04amNewt can handle it. He is afraid of nothing. You have to remember Newt is a American historian, He knows American history better then any of the GOP candidates. He respects America, He respects American history, tradition. He is a proud American and would NEVER apologize. he has more experience in politics then any of the candidates.
Does he have baggage – you bet, who of us doesn’t- his personal life is between his family and God None of us should judge him on personal issues but judge him on political issues. But when doing so compare his policy‘s to Obama’s- then Judge
They are going to interrupt him because they know he can form a thought without a teleprompter – he is the biggest threat to Obama.

Posted on November 19, 2011 at 12:31pmNewt has the POTENTIAL to convince a majority of conservatives that he’s the best man for the job and Im praying that he lives up to it. I don‘t think I could handle listening to 4 years of the others’ speeches but sure enough, I‘m confident I could follow Newt’s.

Posted on November 19, 2011 at 1:25pmNewt is no conservative and he is BIG GOVERNMENT personified. I thought he was a conservative too, until I started researching his record as he climbed up in the polls. This guy is emblematic of what is wrong with Washington. Newt is for government solutions not private sector solutions. Just look at his history. Newt made his millions like Pelosi from BIG Government. I would vote for Paul before I would vote for Newt who has had zero experience in the Private sector economy.
Just check out the following video on the Real Newt. I can’t see how Glenn Beck and say nothing about this guy. He is everything that Beck supposedly detests.

Posted on November 20, 2011 at 2:10pmSLR….that is why I said “POTENTIAL”. I’ve seen the video and a lot of it IS disturbing to me. That is why I have said before: “VET the HELL out of Newt Gingrich”. I‘m more interested in where Newt’s life’s journey has led him to today more then where and what he was doing in his long ago past. Ron Paul’s beliefs on foreign policy and drug legalization are too simplistic and radical. When he speaks of these things, people’s jaws drop. His unrealistic explanations don’t help either. He’s not in the running IMO. Beck has said “Where‘s today’s George Washington?”…..Well, I don’t know, but I do know we have to completely vet ALL the candidates and rally behind the winner no matter what. If Obama wins again, I’ll probably give up on this country.
