Protesters Give Nazi-Style Salute to Wis. Gov. Walker at Tree Lighting

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is in the middle of a recall battle stemming from his attempts to save his state money by taking away collective bargaining privileges for public workers. And it seems that battle just took an interesting turn when, at the Christmas-tree-lighting ceremony at the state Capitol last week, some protesters raised their hand in a Nazi-style salute when he was introduced.
The MacIver Institute has the video:
A listener of WSAU-RADIO in Wisconsin was next to the protesters and snapped a picture. According to him, he heard them say “Herr Walker ” and “Heil Walker:”
I was behind those protestors this morning and I can say for sure they
were giving a Nazi salute…I posted the picture on Senator Alberta
Darling’s Facebook page. I heard them say “Herr Walker” and “Heil
Walker” etc.
Here’s the picture:
Unfortunately, this isn’t anything new. During protests at the state capitol last year, people made signs calling the governor Hitler.

Posted on December 5, 2011 at 1:42pmI read earlier today that the unioins have enough signatures to get Walker out of office. If that is the case, it will have a very bad effect on the entire country. This Hitler salute is yet another ploy by the progressives to ruin this man. We have allot of road blocks right now. I would like to see Trump financially back Walker and those who are trying to help him. We’ll see where all of this leads in the weeks ahead.

America‘s Left is FAR more like Europe’s Left – AND Right. The American Right is unique in that it wants a small government which is the polar opposite of both of those European styles.

I stand with Gov Walker and his efforts to reform the corrupt practices of the last 40 years in Wisconsin government.

Posted on December 5, 2011 at 3:09pmI’d say they were providing the level of respect he has earned through the lack of respect he has shown to the wider community. People beyond those who elected him. Let’s wait for the recall to see how many of the people who voted for him the first time will do it again. His backhanded attempts to slow the process down, obviate it through redistricting and election laws don’t seem to be consistent with someone who is honorable or deserving of much respect.

Nazism, the common short form name of National Socialism. Initially Nazi political strategy focused on anti-big business, anti-bourgeois, and anti-capitalist rhetoric. They considered Jews a parasitic race. Explains why they are affiliated with the OWS crowd.

Posted on December 5, 2011 at 3:04pmBoston, the original Nazi “25-Point Program” contained anti-capitalist rhetoric, but was never taken seriously after the early 1920s by Hitler or anyone else. Big business provided Hitler with a lot of his financial backing, especially in 1932-1933, and was quite comfortable with Hitler once he was in power. No wonder: he smashed the Marxist parties and ended all semlance of an independent union movement in Germany.
Swampy, most of the biggest Nazi fudge-packers were SA leaders who were killed in the 1934 Night of Long Knives. Thereafter, homosexuality was ruthlessly suppressed by the Nazis, though a decided air of male bonding lingered on in some circles. Nazi opposition to Jews was racial, Nazi opposition to Christianity mostly stemmed from dislike of Christian values, plus the fact that especially the Catholic Church was a rival hierarchy.

Posted on December 5, 2011 at 3:17pmSwampy, you are absolutely, unqualifiedly wrong about this.
On May 1, 1933, three months after Hitler’s appointment as Chancellor, German workers were invited to observe a “Day of National Labor,” a paid holiday featuring marching, speechifying and celebration of honest work. The following day, the Gestapo and SS carried out lightning raids on union headquarters all over the country, confiscating assets and packing union leaders off to concentration camps for a spell of reeducation.
The Nazis then replaced the independent confessional, socialist and other unions with their own front organization, the German Labor Front, to which all workers were henceforth required to belong. The Labor Front, or DAF, encouraged superficial fraternization of workers with bosses, and provided some social services, e.g., it was the organization through which cruises and holidays were made available, and the “People’s Car” (VW) offered on a sort of layaway plan.
The DAF was in no sense a union as we would understand the term, capable of bargaining over wages, hours, benefits and the like, and having the right to strike. Encinom may be a troll, but the ignorance is all on your side.

Collective bargaining is NOT a RIGHT. If it were all citizens would be awarded it.
Unions have laundered the memberships dues into the Democratic party and teacher’s unions in particular have stacked the deck against private sector workers and taxpayers by setting up boards made up of past educators who vote in raises and benefits. If Act 10 had not been enacted WEAC would still be pushing WEA Trust insurance, with premiums triple the rate of other health providers.
We taxpayers have been taxed enough, with nothing to show for improvement in education for our kids.
