Meet The Blind Tea Partier Who Traveled 700 Miles Alone for Restoring Love

Tom Bozikis may be completely blind, but that didn’t stop him from traveling nearly 750 miles all by himself from Evansville, Ind. to Dallas, Texas just to learn about the Constitution and attend Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Love” event.

It didn’t even slow him down.

Blind Man Travels All the Way From Indiana for Becks Restoring Love

The Blaze caught up with Bozikis at a Constitutional training event in Dallas, put together by the American Academy for Constitutional Education to coincide with “Restoring Love,” where he explained how the trip has already enriched his life.

“I came alone, and I figured I’d probably find some folks here that I could befriend, and that’s happened,” he told The Blaze. “It’s just been very good.”

Gripping his walking stick and furring his brow, Bozikis passionately talked about the importance of restoring the principals that America was founded upon and being a source of goodness in a country that has seemingly lost its way.

He said he was drawn to “Restoring Love” because he thinks that’s exactly what the country needs right now — more love. Additionally, the blind Indiana resident admirably wants to be of service and take part in some of the charitable projects going in the Dallas area throughout the week leading up the Beck’s finale at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, never once mentioning his disability as an obstacle.

“We’ve been given more time and hopefully with that time we are going to be able to start the process to restore America to its greatness,” he added.

    I wish I could go and could have gone to the other events. I’m too poor to go. I’ll try to catch it on GBTV, but I would have preferred to stand and be counted.

    By the way, I keep hearing Democrat talking heads and Obama’s media fan club saying, “We’re much better off than we were 4 years ago.” EVERYONE I know is worse off. No one’s pay has kept up with inflation, some have been out of work for a very, very long time, and still more are making less and paying more to make ends meet, but ABSOLUTELY NO ONE I know is better off.
    So, who are these people who are better off? Welfare recipients and government workers? Certainly not most of the working class.

      @Shiroi Raion….you and a lot of people fail to see where Obama is coming from. When you look at it from his perspective then yes they are doing better. His supporters and those that want to change America into his vision are doing better, so that means those who depend on the government.

      I hear all the time that this man does not know what he is doing, however, he knows exactly what he is doing. So when you look at it from a Socialist, Marxists’ point of view….then he is doing a great job.

      However, those of us who believe in independence, personal responsibility and what America was orginially built upon….we are the ones struggling.

      Popp40: I would bet that you listen to Sean Hannity…I like Sean, however, for some reason his message about Obama changed dramatically early in 2010…his montra is that Obama is in over his head…you and I both know that that just is not the case. Obama KNOWS exactly what he is doing…and he is doing it well! I would have to bet that Sean is looking out for his young family and doing what Fox has told him to do…he still gets the message out..just like Glenn has always said, “I may not always tell you everything that I think, but what I do tell you will be the truth”…something like that…You get the point…I prefer the message coming from Beck, Savage, Limbaugh, Jones…that speak the truth with the PASSION I feel!

      I’m with you on the not being able to afford to go, so we can watch it together on GBTV. Sigh, we won‘t be able to help out and won’t get the same ‘vibe’ but we’ll still show our support.

      Oh, and those that say they are better off — they’re drinking the Obama Kool-Aid. That’s the only explanation possible. I know a number of them myself, who complain about the state of everything, but still say Obama has been a great president and will vote for him again. Hey, I’ve tried, and tried and tried to wise them up, but I think that Kool-Aid they’re drinking makes them unable to listen to reason.

    I think he see’s more clearly than many. Glad you could make it Tom. He will meet people from many different Countries and of different faiths with different talents..and other differences. They will work side by side to help others. They will see and do and learn together and they will laugh and cry, make new friends And it will spread as each person tells the stories of thier time there. Wish I could be there to feel it but I will be watching on GBTV. Thanks for spotlighting people and telling us their stories, it makes me feel like I’m getting to meet them too. Have a BLAST one and all. Thanks to Glenn and his amazing family and crew. It takes so many people and skills wow mind boggling. God bless America and all her childern.

    I did not know his name at the time and did not know he was attending Restoring Love. When my husband and I was taking the shuttle to our Hotel from the Airport, we made a stop to the next concourse. He got on the shuttle van and seemed very independent and you could tell he didn’t need anyone to “fuss” over him. I wish I would have had the chance to talk with him. Such an inspiration. He probably sees more than a person with perfect eyesight. I hope to meet him tomorrow. Truly inspirational~ ♥

    Tom is AWESOME! I have run into him at several conservative events in the Evansville area. (I gave him a ride to one of them!)
    So, we have Fr. Dusty Burns, Tom Bozikis, and a jillion other AWESOME people in SW Indiana! You should come visit us sometime! (We also have a Chick-Fil-A and Turoni’s Pizza!)

      GB is really just annother one of millions of U.S.A. Citizens who make OUR Country work. The silent-majority is yawning but now waking-up! When the progs see us stretch and stand and moove,in various gentile but honest ways, They Won‘t know what’s up.     Sounds like this man sees more clearly unsighted than those who have it and refuse to see and hear what the truth is right in front of them.
