      My point is God did not intend us to live in his world for the mere pursuit of capital. Jesus spoke out against the principles of capitalism;
-LUKE 16:13 “You cannot serve both God and money”
-MATT 6:19-21 “”Do not save riches for yourselves here on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and robbers break in and steal. Instead, save riches for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and robbers cannot break in and steal. For your heart will always be where your riches are.”
-Heb 13:5 “Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have.”
-Mark 10:21-27,31 “There is one thing you lack. Go and sell everything you own and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.” But his face fell at these words and he went away sad, for he was a man of great wealth. Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” The disciples were astounded by these words, but Jesus insisted, “My children,” he said to them, “how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
-Acts 2:44-45 All the believers joined together and shared everything in common; they sold their possessions and goods and divided the proceeds among the fellowship according to individual need
-Luke 3:11 John answered, “The man with two tunics should share with him who has none, and the one who has food should do the same.”

      @First

in the Old Testament…God clearly states through the prophets and through the stories accounted that Man is supposed to WORK/LABOR for his food, his clothing, and his shelter.
The Bible, when you search for passages on handling of money or finances, clearly states that a Man’s first duty is to provide for himself and his immediate family THEN to provide for 1 generation up – being his mother and father – and 2 generations down – being his children and grandchildren.
Charity in the Bible is not done through the State but through the individual and through God’s Will – “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, give to God what is God’s”

If you look at the Bible from the frame of reference as a Financial Planning textbook…this would be the summary: Never borrow – Never lend (those were not just words from Hamlet but Shakespeare took them from the Bible) – Debt makes you a Slave to the Debtor. Live within your means and provide for you family then give joyously and generously from what is left over, through time or money or effort to those less fortunate. The Bible is completely Capitalistic. Man should seek out what God has called him to do on Earth, do it well, do it joyfully, do it to glorify God. Use what God has called you to do, made you for, to provide for your family and bless those around you less fortunate.

Do not confuse Laissez-faire with Capitalism. Capitalism says that you can do what you wish for a job or employment or business. You can charge what you like if someone is willing to pay the price for the good or service. You assume the RISK…you assume the LOSS…you assume the BENEFIT.

Laissez-faire simply applies to Governments keeping their hands off the economy and letting the markets dictate what price should go with the corresponding good. Capitalism is an economy model, Laissez-faire is a governmental policy used to support the adovcacy of Capitalism. Capitalism is the OLDEST economic model in all of Creation. When Man first came into contact with another family group, they sat down and bartered….this goat for that cow…this wheat for that fruit….Capitalism was born. The society of Man, created by God to labor for his food, shelter, and clothing, trading with each other based on how they choose to live their life…one a hunter, one a gatherer, one a tanner, one a weaver, one a carpenter, one a mason. Each specialized by their CREATOR to benefit himself, his family, and those around him in his community. NO GOVERNMENT involvement, just Man, God, and nature.

Uncle Crusty, I suppose it all depends on your interpretation of capitalism. Ultimately it is characterized as motivation by profit. I support a free market system, yes, but I do not support unrestrained capitalism that allows, in America’s overwhelming love of money, others and the environment to become exploited in the process. I support business, but how do American people compete with economies of scale and mass accumulation of capital in the hands of mega-corporations; that is not a free market.

But VRW Conspirator, as long as there are evil and greedy people in this world, unrestrained capitalism will not work. Capitalism becomes a eat or be-eaten, survival of the fittest, system. Without restraint, capitalists (in my definition of the word) will not spend the money to preserve, protect, and safeguard against damage done as a result of their economic pursuits. Many capitalists are only concerned with the bottom line and will pay employees (costs) as little as they possibly can–even using slavery–to increase profits. It is government regulations, supposely bestowed by the voice of the majority, that prevent this from occuring. Communism would work in a perfect world too, but as we all know this is not a perfect world and the temptations of Satan are much too strong. As we have seen with the corruption of politicians in our society, the lure of money and power is just too irresistable to us weak humans. The resources just arent there for the masses to compete when consolidated and hoarded in the hands of so few, thus we are disillusioned when we think there is any possibility of a truly free market in our society. Perhaps we are confusing human rights of freedom with capitalism. IMO capitalism is based on the science of economics devoid of consideration for humanity or extrinsic costs, and this is not what God had in mind for us.

You mentioned: “Jesus spoke out against the principles of capitalism;”
Really? Where did you hear this from? Your proof is verses about the evils of setting your heart on money as more important that God. This is apples and oranges, but I digress.

Please read the whole of scripture, and here I will point to the fact that Jesus actually preached the very principles of capitalism: which are risk / reward.

Please see Luke 19: 24, & 25 for but one example (of many I could offer)
Remember the context: This is a parable about the Kingdom of God (or what the Kingdom of God is like). Also note the peoples response and what Jesus says to them. Lets look:
In verse 24 Jesus says to take the mina/talent from the evil person who did not risk anything or (work to improve what he was given) and give it to the one with the most money, the one with the 10 mitra/talents!

Here is the most fun part: The peoples response! It’s the same response we hear from the whiny libs and fairness people: But he already has ten! Or “that’s unfair, he already has the most money, etc…..” Check out Jesus’ response: (Note: its capitalism continued!) Put another way: Jesus rewards risk – which is the basis of capitalism:
The ones who take the risk receive the reward! And it will be more than others receive.

Obama is the one who wanted to take from Joe the Plumber! Note, it was Joe who wanted to take the risk, yet, Obama wanted to take his reward and give it to those who did not take the risk! Obama is preaching the exact opposite of Jesus – and note to those reading: It is not compassion!, it is not altruism, it is not fair, to take from those who risk and earn and give it to those who choose not to!

Please read the whole of Jesus’ teachings and think some more about your presuppositions.

And I do agree about the money issue which Jesus speaks about, but do note, that Jesus did support capitalism, and rebuked the “its not fair” people.

So by that definition, can I become a pimp if I choose? How about a drug dealer? Can I charge whatever I wish if I choose to go into the business of selling life-saving goods, such as medical care and prescription drugs? Now if Im a truly decent human being I will NOT charge the price given by a economic cost/benefit analysis, because I will find that people are willing to pay A LOT to save thier life. But not everbody is a decent human being and many will charge an unethical fee for those services simply because people will pay it and the demand will not be affected. Would they be holding human lives at ransom? Yes. Does that fit you definition of capitalism? yes.

Are we confusing freedom with economics? Capitalism is the philosophy of capital! We need to dig a little deeper and consider what lies at the root of our problems, on both sides of this spectrum. I find it to be greed and self-centeredness. Even the lazy man who refuses to work and take responsibility is guilty of selfishly draining resources designated for the indigent, just as the big fat rich man on Wall Street is for hoarding resources, far surpassing his needs and wants, necessary for a functioning society for all.

      @TOPHAT

Capitalism is not antithetical to laziness. Laziness is simply irresponsible and any reasonable person would condemn it as it ultimately causes suffering. Perhaps I should clarify my point; Jesus condemned greed and exploitation of people and religion, for example his treatment of the temple marketplaces. In a capitalist utopia those people would be free to do whatever they wanted under the guise of a free market society, right? By that same token, an oil company can choose not to safeguard against a spill because it will cost too much capital and will thus be restricting his “freedom” to profit. Capitalism is not compatible to religion because it is based on scientific economic principles; compassion is not a tenent. It does not factor in extrinsic values, such as environment, ecology (though in the long term this impacts economy), asthetics, freedom, health, honor, love etc. Capitalism is generally only concerned with concrete intrinsic values. And you may interprest risk and reward in a monetary sense; however, I may take a risk, but my reward is not necessarily monetary. Perhaps Jesus is speaking of risk as in putting your faith in God. And perhaps Jesus is speaking of rewards as eternal salvation.

And perhaps Jesus is speaking of rewards as eternal salvation.” I could not disagree more! Remember the context and what was said: He already has 10!” They were responding to the idea that it is unfair he gets more. It was not about faith, it was about concrete reward. (The words of the text make it plain.)

And this is my ultimate point. We are not to love money, but we should be allowed to earn reward without the libs, fairness, Obama’s and others who wish to steal it from me to, as one famous guy just said: “to spread the wealth around.” This is immoral and wrong, as much as it is for the rich to ignore the poor.

The difference is the choice one has to being kind and generous vs. legalized theft! And the idea that it is wrong for others to prosper above one’s self appointed limits.

The rich can choose to be generous or not to be. They will have to give an account. This in far from the same things that our current President has said, and the Michael Moore’s have said. I consider Mr. Moore to be rich, should I be allowed to confiscate his money as he is saying we should do to other’s more wealthy than him? My answer is no.

Capitalism is an economic system in which the means of production are privately owned and operated for profit . Take your money and make it grow by exchanging it for: goods to be sold elswhere for profit (don’t be cheatin folk in the temple though.. might get you a$$ floged and run out-a-town), seed to plant crops, or raise animals to be sold for profit, or to be a deposit to earn interest.. “well done, you will be in charge of five cities” Yes, I believe capitalism was/is the Godly method of economics. Don’t covet or value money over God. Be productive/profitable and poised to be a blessing to others.

These millionaires that profess the need to share what the wealthy has with the poor should be setting the example….Michael Moore, Larry King, Susan Surandon, and last but not least the Reverend Wright. Number one rule for liberal capitalist, make everyone under you think you hate capitalism.

#2) Produce nothing for society other than hate to get what you want (Paid).

#3) Try to get the people that make more than you to give up their money so you can gain in status without producing anything.

#4) Legisislate that everyone else but you and your friends don’t make money.

#5) Make sure the people under you, STAY under you. (You don’t need to work, you should be given everything from those who make too much, and remember to tip your pastor/rev/union boss with the money you have stollen from others)

      Posted on March 16, 2011 at 10:30am

The recent events in the Middle East, Japan, Europe and in the United States have prompted much discussion among Bible-believing Christians about the end times. When events occur at such rapid pace–earthquakes, kingdom against kingdom, wars and rumors of wars, famine and pestilence–it is natural for the human being to look for answers. And while the world is taught that there is no God, that the higher power is limited only by the education of man’s brain, many are seeking answers in vain. The one’s with the answers must, as Christ said in Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

But if Christians are fearful, anxious and panicked about the events around them, their light will not be so strong to those who have no answers. We, as Christians grafted in to the root, must respond to these times with knowledge, wisdom and compassion. As the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Many have asked how to survive as we enter these times of accelerated prophecy. First and foremost, trust in God and call upon His name. Joel 2:32 says, “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered.” You have nothing to fear. Be a Godly example. This is the first key to survival.

To survive, we also need to know God’s plan. And God’s plan is found only in the Bible–not what people say about the Bible, but the very word of God. Read the word. Know the chronology of events. Matthew 24 is a good place to start. Jesus begins his teaching of his disciples in verse 4, saying, “Take heed that no man deceive you.” This is excellent and straightforward advice. Do not believe your government. It will lie to you in these days. Do not believe your politicians. They will lie to you in these days. Do not believe big name Bible teachers for as Jesus said in Matthew 24:11, “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” You will know who to believe by knowing the word of God.

Also know that survival is not dependent upon governments. Our survival is in the hands of the one true God. Have faith in Him that He will take care of your needs. Jesus tells us the formula for survival in Matthew 6:31-33, “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? Or, What shall we drink?, or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” One other thing–don’t be worrying about the rapture. Trust that God knows when to bring you home and occupy until He blesses you with such a joy.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Here’s some context to the Micah passage.

      Micah 4:1-4 (NASB)

1 And it will come about in the last days That the mountain of the house of the LORD Will be established as the chief of the mountains. It will be raised above the hills, And the peoples will stream to it.

2 Many nations will come and say, “Come and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD And to the house of the God of Jacob, That He may teach us about His ways And that we may walk in His paths.” For from Zion will go forth the law, Even the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

3 And He will judge between many peoples And render decisions for mighty, distant nations. Then they will hammer their swords into plowshares And their spears into pruning hooks ; Nation will not lift up sword against nation, And never again will they train for war.

4 Each of them will sit under his vine And under his fig tree, With no one to make them afraid, For the mouth of the LORD of hosts has spoken.

This is the mindset behind BHO remember he listened to this guy for over 20 yrs. Everything BHO is doing is that of one who embraces socialism, if anything this should tie BHO firmly to Wright and squash any though of what his religion is. Some say he is Muslim, others claim Christian. Good arguments are made that he is Muslim but let’s look at the facts of what we know as of today “he’s practicing Christianity”. Obama’s ‘Christianity’ is based on Liberation Theology. We know this because Obama himself has said he has sat in Rev. Wrights church for over 20yrs. We know for a fact Rev Wright preaches Liberation Theology (aka Black Theology). Robert Gibbs, White House Press Secretary, claims that Glenn Beck has conjured up the Liberation Theology claim. Well to clear things up once and for all lets look at the facts and Robert maybe you should take some notes as this isn’t something conjured up by Beck. The best way to do this is let you see and hear them in their own words!

Oh for all the critics out there, quit it with the ‘you only know because Glenn Beck talked about it’ garbage, most of this material is pre-Beck in the spotlight. Look at the dates on all of this its before most people knew who Glenn Beck was.

Right on. You have defined anti-capitalism well. This is why there is no such thing as a moderate.
The reason there are so many different ways of saying anti-capitalist is that distribution of power within a society of fallible humans can never be equal. Capitalism is the only ideology that openly acknowledges and embraces this fact. All other ideologies declare Capitalism the demon to justify a different means of distributing power, always with the proponents inherently on the recieving end of that power. Therefore, there is no benefit in trying to convert the proponents of anti-capitalist ideologies, only to awaken their followers.

His views are the same as Radical Islam, also, him and Obama have the same views of the US! How the Heck did people vote for him? Why would anyone sit in a chuch, and say they’re Christian, with views like this! Its all about Hate!…. Why can’t people see this, its the same view point as Islam! Hmmmm, then we find out both were muslims, and went to muslims Madrassa schools! Obama’s trying to destroy this country, and he will do it any way to get his way!!…. obama does not love this country like most US people do! He’s a muslim!

Oh, wait I must have missed the part where he moved back to Kenya to teach farming and educate the poor, right? No wait……he’s still draped in his golden robes of sin and greed, spewing hate from the pulpit……sigh….just another day at the BLT school of leading the blind into more poverty.

Anyone see muslim views in his hateful speech? I wish people would realize Wright was a muslim, and so was our muslim in chief! Jesus told us to watch out for this, I believe he talked about “Wolves in sheeps clothing!” When the muslims start to blow themselves up in churches, and we find out they were proclaiming to be christians, we’ll know the real truth! I hope its not to late by then! We are in Big trouble. With people like this, who needs enemies? Lord, Jesus please, please, please bring these wolves to our attention! Please guard and protect our little ones, and never let these wolves get their paws on any of them! In Jesus name I pray! Amen!….

Unless my memory is totally gone, wasn’t it the Marxist and Communist that were synonymous with walls, check points and guards shooting people?????

Obama says that he sat through Rev. Wright’s sermons for 20 years, yet never heard a word of Wright’s prejudice, hate-strewn rhetoric. What does that say about Obama’s listening skills or ability to decipher the truth from lies! You would think a Harvard graduate?? would have learned these very important skills.

I recently viewed a show on The History Channel that discussed the concept of infinity. In discussing it they gave a fitting example to what I see happening with liberals and their agenda.

You are going to cross a street. In doing so you only cross half way. From that point you again only go half way. From that point…half way again. See, there are two things happening with the liberal agenda: 1) They don’t try to go all the way in completing their agenda in one shot. It is bits and pieces at a time. 2) Because you keep halving the distance, you never reach the other side. This way you can keep complaining that you never reached the goal. This complaint is then used to fuel the next push forward.

You know, the race baiters and poverty pimps no longer have their main discrimination argument in this brave new homogeneous, no standards, least common denominator liberal Democrat world, so now they have a new straw man to go after – capitalism.

But in the words of author Piers Anthony:

“When one person makes an accusation, check to be sure he himself is not the guilty one. Sometimes it is those whose case is weak who make the most clamor.”

The Blaze continues to censor my comments because of content.

I’m going to shorten this because what was censored was rather long. The reader can decide if it should be censored…

Re. Wright was top dog at Trinity for 20 years, then he retired to his million dollar mansion paid for by his flock.

His first official act as the new Rev at Trinity was to throw out all the white members of the Church.
Wright stated that Black Liberation Theology had no room for the white man.

Shortly after throwing out the whites Obama started attending Trinity.

Wright preached against the white man for the next 19 years with Obama in attendance, becoming his spiritual mentor.

For 20 years Wright spread racist rhetoric and took racist actions. This makes him a racist.

Obama sat and listened, and observed this racism for almost 20 years. If this doesn’t mean that Obama is a racist, then it does mean that he at least sides with racists (which in my mind…is racist).

Reverend Wright, gives a bad name to true men of God. He preaches hate and discontent, while collecting funds for his culture of hate. I can’t listen to the man for one minute ,without realizing his true message, and have to ask how a smart man like Obama attended Wright‘s church for 24 years and didn’t hear the hatred. What Divinity School taught the Reverend to spew such hateful rhetoric? None of the Religious schools I’ve ever heard, of teach hate as a subject. The Reverend is a poor role model for his young parishioners.

Its so amazing that anyone would sit and listen to such a demonically misguided human being. He abviously doesnt know the bible’s truths which leans more toward capitalism. Solomom being the richest king in the bible was never asked by God to evenly share his wealth nor was any of the other wealthy patriarchs of the bible. Gods wish is that those he has blessed with the skill and intelligence to make money will help those in need.

      Mr. Rev Wright,

The capitalistic system you hate so much is the same one that made you rich and make millionaires out of all of you freakin socialists. The only time you come out and say something like this is when you want to get 15 more minutes of fame or you think it’s going to benefit you finanically some how. I would like you to espouse these same things about the government if you lived in Iran or any where in the middle east. I would love to see Rev Wrights family tree , is it me or does he have some whitie in him. Seems a little to light skinned to me.

The God I know has no relation to Wright’s God. He takes an obscure verse in the Old Testament and preverts it to mean what fits his agenda. Exactly who appointed him judge and jury of the world? I believe that job belongs to God.

He is using RACISM to promote himself and his evil ideology. By promoting the fear, hate and class envy in his audience, he drives wedges between us all. It is not difficult to take verses from the Bible and corrupt them to mean what promotes ones agenda. I am glad that I won’t have to stand in his shoes come judgement day. I would be surprised if he even believes in Jesus Christ, the God of love and understanding, forgiveness and redemption. This is evil in its purest form.

The Left excoriated poor President Bush for going to his Texas ranch for (MUCH well deserved time off because he truly WORKED during his Presidency!) They complained that he golfed and shouldn’t have…President Bush listened and stopped golfing. Obama NEVER LISTENS to opposition; he continues to do the very opposite things! We NEVER hear those same Lefties complaining that Obama and wife take way too many BIG VACATIONS ON TAXPAYER’S DEBT!!!!! Obama’s latest “good time on our dime” will be in Rio De Janeiro this weekend!!!! Just despicable, when the United States is BEYOND BROKE and the world is in such a HUGE MESS. The president should not be having a good ole time living it up spending OUR money!!! MOST OF US HAVE LOST OUR ABILITY TO TAKE VACATIONS and BUY WHAT WE‘D LIKE BECAUSE OUR BETTER LIFESTYLES HAVE BEEN STOLEN AWAY FROM US BY OBAMA’S “CHANGE” TO SOCIALISM and MARXISM!!! THE MIDDLE CLASS IS SUFFERING FINANCIALLY FROM THE DELIBERATE CAUSE OF PRINTING TRILLIONS TO PURPOSELY CREATE LOADS OF DEBT FOR SOCIALISM!!!! EVERYTHING IS MUCH TOO EXPENSIVE. WE HAVE LESS INCOME WHILE TAXES and BILLS have DOUBLED and TRIPLED!! The Left CONTINUALLY bashed and blamed poor President Bush for high gas prices, but WE NEVER HEAR the LEFT BLAME OBAMA FOR OUTRAGEOUS GAS PRICES! Classy President Bush was ridiculously and deliberately BLAMED for everything in order to brainwash the people against the Right. During the last two years of the Bush administration when Democrats took over the House and Senate, the RADICAL Left was “setting up shop”, taking full advantage of their power grab using Saul Alinsky tactics to destroy the credibility of the Right, all while the rest of us were unfortunately asleep at the wheel.
