Rachel Maddow: I Used to Love Glenn Beck

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow made a startling admission to David Letterman Wednesday night: she used to be a huge Glenn Beck fan.

During her appearance, the liberal TV host said that she really liked Beck and his radio show prior to him getting a TV gig at Fox, even admitting she used to listen to Beck every day.

“I think he was the most talented radio personality of my entire generation,” she told Letterman. She described Beck’s pre-Fox radio show as “incredibly performative…he inhabited all these different characters, he would do all these voices, it was very entertaining. really funny, really fast-paced, very unpredictable, surprising, very good.”

But now her opinion has changed: “He mostly just talks about himself and it’s not as fun. But when he was on the radio, before he got on TV, he was great.”

The compliments were mostly backhanded, Letterman and Maddow made sure to take jabs at Fox and conservatives in general. Letterman even called Beck “loony” and a “blowhard”:

Beck is still talented, whereas Maddow never was and never will be. As for Letterman, he seems to have most of his talent lodged in that part of his anatomy directed at the female help.

So, she liked Beck when he wasn’t delving into serious topics, when he was playing the clown?

I guess that’s something, in a way, at least from her. Most on the Left scream bloody hate murder about the guy, and won’t admit to even his superficial comedic qualities.

The reason for this is, when you are so far beneath someone, the only way you can be herd is by screaming outrages things. This holds true for everyone on the left. But what they don’t realize is, that only the truth will bring you up, and screaming nonsense will only get you squished.

Self-deception is when a person justifies their own actions and views by inflating their own ego and virtue while exaggerating the faults of those who disagree with them. It is a form of self-betrayal as we decieve ourselves of what reality truly is. I see this more and more present in the Glenn Beck following.

Am I deceiving myself about the true reality? Our federal government is deep in debt, with continued deficit spending. Our federeal government has a one size fits all mentality, sending mandates to the states and making the state governments pay for the programs. What is needed in NYC isn’t necessarily needed in South Dakota. This affects our future, but more importantly, it affects the future of my children, grandchildren and so on.
By the way, I’ll be in the Hub City later today, spending our hard earned money and paying sales tax to support your town. But it is MY choice to shop there and I gladly support my home town.

It’s interesting to watch as all the commentators “sort themselves out” on the networks. Liz Claman (sp) used to be on CNBC, now she’s on Fox Business News (she was always a strong presence on CNBC. The migration from the libs’ networks to Fox seems neverending. The ones who have conviction of conscience will find themselves on Fox and enjoy a long, fruitful career. Of course, there will be that small percentage of them who will move to FOX because they want to be with a winner. But, they will eventual implode because they can’t sustain the message. Libs have no conviction. . .they bend with the wind because their end justifies their means.

That’s exactly when Beck stopped being entertaining and began sounding dangerous. When Beck began weaving an insane conspiracy that President Obama was a this or that because he once was in the same room with so-n-so or that George Sorros is that evil super villain from those James Bond movies trying to destroy the world and the democrats have been plotting the destruction of the US since, forever. As for Letteman; his show is bilge material when he stoops to entertaining people like Maddow. Keep to the humor and the Hollywood eltie David. Your show sucks when you do politics. I tune in late nite to get away from politics not be insulted by you and your progressive guests.

Maddow is one person I cannot tolerate watching. The event on Letterman had her sitting there pntificating about her issues. She has that Obama postre; I am obviously all knowing and so much more intelligent than you little people. She is, in her mind right about everything she talks about. The right is the problem, Glenn Beck is the problem, the Tea Party is the problem, everbody NOT a part of her chosen group of progressive elites is the problem. She thinks Obama is perfect, her beloved democrat party is untouchable. I’d lik to ask her one question ” the dems OWN the congress and the White House and have now for almost two years so why Ms.Madcow are you blaming everything on the republicans and George Bush”?

Sounds like if you disagree with liberals you’re a “blow-hard.” It’s ironic that this conversation, that Letterman’s show, could easily be broadcast in Venezuela, Cuba, Russia . . . without changing a thing . . . Mmmmmm.

But you know . . . there’s an unreported travesty in their performance: They still have an audience that believes their premise and their themes.

And despite Dave feigning all the usual liberal reasonableness, humanitarianism, he and his liberal friends, Maddow, Moore, Olbermann, which ever liberal face you want to mention, they would separate your head from your shoulders if they could only have a chance to prove their problems with conservatism can only be cured in one way.

Jorge, Beck was very critical of Bush when he was in office both on his CNN show and on the radio. He has been talking about the safety of gold for the past 8 years at least. Long before he had a TV show. He was also very critical about Bush “Abandoning free market principles to SAVE the free market” and Beck is also on about all Progs. NOT just dems and is all about booting out the prog repubs as well. You should actually listen to him. I drew very dangerous and scary lines between Soros years before anyone talked about him on TV or radio. The truth remains that progs have always aimed for the destruction of our republic so they can easily integrate it into their one world government model. Open the eyes.

Whom ever this Maddow person is, she’s not on my radar scope. The few things I’ve read about her
are hateful trash from her mouth and really mean spirited talk. She belong in the same group of people as un-joyful Bayhar, Kathy Griffith and all that ilk, (can‘t remember their names as I’ve erased all memory of them from my mind) but you know who I mean. Can’t stand mean old broads.

How did she finish the sentence?

RACHEL MADDOW: I USED TO LOVE GLENN BECK …
… until I found out he loves his country
… until he started using facts
… until he saw the good in people

Madcow is just jealous that Glenn is much better looking with short hair and more easily identified as a male than she is.

      Jorge,

      “Questioning with BOLDNESS”

That’s cool, but the idea is to NOT ask stupid questions. Glenn started asking serious questions. It‘s not his fault you don’t like the answers he found.
