NewZeal’s Trevor Loudon is looking at the plans of leftist coalition that is looking to launch an “occupation” of Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC beginning October 6th:
David Swanson is the Washington Director of Democrats.com, co-founder of the After Downing Street Coalition and creator of Meet with Cindy.org.
He serves on the steering committee of the Charlottesville Center for Peace and Justice and on a working group of United for Peace and Justice.
He has worked as a newspaper reporter and as Press Secretary for the Dennis Kucinich 2004 campaign, Media Coordinator for the International Labor Communications Association and three years as Communications Coordinator for ACORN.
Swanson is working with a coalition of groups to launch a protest with a goal of shutting down the U.S. government.
These tactics will be familiar to those who remember The Blaze exclusive report on the protest plans of SEIU’s Stephen Lerner and his plans to “swarm” Wall Street to the point of bringing down the stock market.

Swanson told Press TV’s U.S. Desk on Monday that “we are going to occupy Freedom Plaza in the middle of Washington D.C., the name of which is very similar of course to Tahrir Square in Cairo, Egypt, and from there we are going to expand to shut down offices, buildings, streets, hallways, to nonviolently, strictly nonviolently resist what our government is doing.”
The author of “War is a lie” said “we are taking the same sort of agenda that all left, liberal and progressive groups intend to take to Washington: Tax the rich and the corporations, end the wars, cut the military spending, protect our safety net, our social security, give us Medicare for everybody, end the corporate welfare, give us clean energy and jobs and infrastructure and cleanup the system.”
Swanson said the takeover of Freedom Plaza coincides with the “ten year mark in the war in Afghanistan that they have now suggested may continue for another 13 years or so.”
According to Swanson, the event is also planned to overlap with “October 2011 when the next year’s budget kicks in, in the United States which includes cuts for just about everything useful but again a larger budget for the military.”
A coalition of organizations and prominent individuals is announcing at http://october2011.org a plan to begin a people’s occupation of Washington, D.C., on October 6th, to build it into something larger on the 7th, 8th, and 9th, and to not leave until we are satisfied. There is absolutely no reason that our government must be permitted to continue functioning on behalf of Wall Street and a war machine. In Afghanistan, the people protest our bombing of their homes. We sit inside our own homes complaining about our economy, our banks, our schools. Instead, we now have a chance to have a say, in solidarity with others around the world, with success just as likely — if just as shocking to those in power — as with past U.S. people’s movements and the recent advances in Tunisia and Egypt.
This will not be another rally and march on a Saturday, make home movies, pat ourselves on the back, and go home. We are coming to Washington to stay. Today’s announcement is an open invitation for all kinds of organizations, national and local, to join in the early planning stages of this campaign. We need not agree on political ideology or party or much else. We need only agree that nonviolent resistance to a government that routinely ignores the will of its people is appropriate in our nation as well — even above all, given our nation’s impact on the environment, global finances, and wars.
Now word of these plans did not exactly surprise Glenn Beck, who has been predicting an increasing wave of such protests, but he began his radio show Tuesday morning by analyzing Swanson’s strategies:

Posted on August 30, 2011 at 3:30pmDoesn’t matter if 1,000 or 100 or 10 show up —- we need to ensure we have law enforce that will not allow for a single minute this kind of anarchy…. there has to be something in the DC Laws stating that no person can camp, sleep or stay in a given spot for any more then a certain amount of time, that they can clear an area for security, health and/or fire hazard reasons, and basically they’ll just keep them off the mall, if they so much as squat the stairs of any public building, have them arrested….
What worries me is the Obama Admin will be complacent and allow this anarchy to happen and won’t stop it, I’d have to believe that this may be grounds for some kind of Impeachment proceeding, that the Administration is purposefully causing traitorous acts and that others will have to step in and countermand any dictates from the WH on this….
We can’t let these people setup their attempts anywhere in the country, law enforcement and military have to be ready to take these anarchists down, they are posing a direct threat to the country and are being very public about it, so there is no doubt it is happening.

Do these guys even think their protests through? Let’s just say hypothetically speaking they are able to shut down the government and wall street. They are going to end up with more people out of jobs and all the money that they wanted to take from the rich to help “feed the poor” is not going to be there anymore because no one will have any money. Just think back to Black Friday and the turmoil from the stock market crash. If they bring down the government and the stock market then they just made it inevitably worse for those they say they are fighting for.

These International ( this is an international movement ) Lefty nut jobs have been writing comments for the last two years in the New York Times crying for “take to the streets/ let’s have a revolution.” But I had only heard of the September 17 Wall Street planned fiasco. I think that these guys should only be allowed to “protest” within a fenced- in area. They should be required to pay a damage deposit. And they should not be given the opportunity to stop any government or business functions. Cage ‘em in. They are planning havoc. If our Left leaning photo -op present administration could be so prepared for Hurricane Irene, let’s hold them accountable to be as well prepared for Hurricane Anarchy – September 17/October 6. Wall Street/ Washington. Wherever and whenever these little political hooligans want to stage their “revolutions” ( only in a contained area !!) This will be a local issue – alert your mayors and police too !

Okay, this man sounds more and more as if he is calling for an out and out overthrow of the national government; he is working with people who are openly declared socialists, anarchists and communist in affiliation and dedicated to the downfall of the Republic.
We shall see just how “Non Violent” this gathering actually turns out to be; I expect there will be plenty of hate filled rhetoric, class warfare rhetoric, and anti government, anti conservative and anti tea party hate speeches as well.
Honestly, do not be suprised if all hades cuts loose with this band of thugs gathering in DC. This does have the smell of one more set up by the administration for the inevitable slamming down from the top upon all of us….think on this scenario:
A. “Uprising by demonstrators” threatens the safety and continuity of govenrment function.

Posted on August 30, 2011 at 11:16amThis has worked in other countries that used to have a republic where “Emergency Law” was declared and enforced “Emergency Law” for many years as a way to establish a dictatorship. This happened in Egypt starting in 1958. Algeria in 1992 and just recently forced to lift it and Syria for the past 50 years. I fully expect this administration to try the same thing so elections can be postponed.
What is fully is Glenn Beck called out these actions back in 3.28.2011 that they would happen about now by what the administration said back then and sure enough it is happening right on queue.

I can‘t see obama doing anything to these idiots when he protects those scrawny ’Black Panthers” that were harrassing people at the polling sight. As far as “Marshal Law” , do you realize what rights the Government has when it’s declared or when FEMA moves in? They tell you to stock up on everything that your family ight need to survvive for 4 -14 days yet they have the right to confiscate any excess you have, food, fuel, med supplies not to mention your weapons. As a veteran and retired cop, I found and joined the “Oathkeepers”. NOT POLITICAL IN ANY WAY. you should check out the web sight. If all of us that took Swore our Oaths stand and honor those Oaths then the political machine, which ever side, will be only as effective as we need it to be. WE WILL NOT DISARM AMERICANS, PERFORM WARRANTLESS SEARCHS, DETAIN AMERICANS IN “ANY” TYPE OF FEMA CAMP OR AREA (KATRINA) WE WILL NOT ASSIST AN FOREIGN TROOPS ON US SIOL AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, and there are several others but the simple fact is .WE WILL NOT OBEY ANY ORDER THAT INFRINGES ON THE RIGHTS OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. These are Oaths that all miltary and uniformed publics service people take. I took mine seriously, it’s the reason I spent my live serving.

Most likely he already has the decrees set us and ready to sign in a moments notice — also expect Obama to be out of DC on vacation or something when the DC “insurrection” commenses.

These radicals are trying to start a war in this country, but frankly, they have no idea what that means, and when it comes, they will be totally unprepared to deal with the reality of what they get. What am I talking about – Washington spends money on automatic pilot. They could all go home forever tomorrow and there would still be trillions of spending. No, we must have legislation that rolls back previous legislation. We must write laws to eliminate past laws. This is the only way, other than bloodshed, to reverse government. it’s our choice.
