‘Rainbow in the Night’: First-Ever Music Video About the Holocaust Hopes to Go Viral

More than seven decades after the Nazis invaded Poland and World War II began, filming is reportedly underway for the first-ever short film and music video about the Holocaust.
With a cast of dozens and a production company based in New York, “Rainbow in the Night” is set in Krakow and the Majdanek concentration camp.
Israel National News adds:
Much of today’s youth, raised in the age of technology such as Facebook, Twitter and smart phones, has little patience for large volumes of history, yet the memories of those six million Jews who perished at the hands of Nazi murderers during World War II must be kept alive.
Having recognized the challenge of keeping the Holocaust alive in today’s day and age, composer, writer and producer Cecelia Margulies has teamed up with producer and director Danny Finkelman and created “Rainbow in the Night,” a new music video which brings the Holocaust to life.
Producers say the reason for the video, which they hope will go viral, is to increase and preserve awareness about the Holocaust, as the number of survivors dwindles and the number of Holocaust deniers grows.

Also, standing with Israel is easily possible without the need to question one’s true loyalty and patriotism. I stand with Israel but I am an American, I am not Jewish, I was born in this country and I will die in this country. Few question my loyalty; most are marxists or delusional…usually both.
Do not question someone’s patriotism just because they say they stand with Israel. That would be just as foolhardy as questioning someone’s commitment to America because they said they stood with Dale Earnhardt Jr.

If you want a glimpse into what it was like for European Jews before the transports to concentration camps began, see the short movie entitled “Ghetto”. It was produced by the Nazis and the cameramen were directed by their Nazi bosses to go to a particular location and film a particular thing. The cameramen did not have the freedom to film what they wanted so every scene in this film was intended to be seen as it is. I believe the Nazis were trying to produce a propaganda film implying that the rich Jews in Warsaw could save the poor ones if they really wanted to and that it was not the fault of the occupying Nazis that Jews were dying. Sound is missing from this film and it was never released by the Nazis. It was found in a vault and brings images to us that are stunning. One conclusion I drew from it was that the only difference between the poor and rich Jews in Warsaw was the methodology of their extinction. The poor Jews starved to death in the Ghetto. The rich Jews survived the starvation to die at Auschwitz. Either way, they died at the hands of the Nazis.

The wasted cadavers you see in all the photos were mostly inmates in camps liberated by the western Allies in the last few months of World War II, such as Bergen-Belsen and Buchenwald. There, the horrific conditions were largely the result of breakdowns of transportation and supply as the Nazi death marches crowded more and people into fewer and fewer camps.

Lloyd Drako: Out of curiosity how does that situation differ from say Andersonville? Did the Southern soldiers have extra T-bones lying around to feed the prisoners? How many more prisoners would have died if the Confederacy would have held out another 6 months?
Furthermore, maybe you can help me understand the situation in Germany a little more. There were estimates of Millions of Russian POWs early on in the war. How do you expect a Nation that is being destroyed by the largest ever in World history coordinated bombing campaign, being beaten back on all fronts, hardly any means of transportation remaining.. how were they suppose to feed these prisoners when they couldn’t even feed their soldiers? Oh stupid me I almost forgot the losing Army is always suppose to take their remaining food and feed it to the prisoners.. Never mind, now I understand.

It is in many respects very comparable to what happened at Andersonville, where the Confederates, many of them on the point of starvation themselves, simply could not cope with masses of prisoners moved there from other locales as the area controlled by the South shrank. Add the subtropical climate of southern Georgia, and voila.
In the case of WWII, most of the Soviet POWs who died were deliberately starved in 1941-1942, when the 3rd Reich was riding high, when the victory of the Wehrmacht seemed likely, and before Allied bombing had much of an effect. The Germans were implementing what they called the “Hunger Plan,” meant to reduce the population of the newly conquered East by some 30,000,000 to free up resources for Germany and open space for colonization.
The photos of emaciated corpses and walking skeletons that you see from the last days of the war almost all come from the western camps liberated by the British and Americans. Though they are commonly presented as photographic evidence of the Holocaust, in fact they are no such thing. Very few are of Jewish prisoners, most are of surviving POWs, political prisoners, common criminals, and assorted other unfortunates who were simply swept up for no particular reason.

I can’t even begin to comprehend the logistics involved in feeding and accommodating 2 million POWs on such short notice. I feel really bad for what those Russian POWs suffered. Many would have gladly fought their Marxist masters with the Germans but Hitler wanted nothing to do with them.

Posted on November 20, 2011 at 6:07amYes, but lets not forget that there were many in all European nations, for that matter around the world that collaborated with the Nazis not just Jews but it was the Jews they wanted to wipe out most others were killed because of working against the Nazis or for other reasons, but the Jews were picked up and put in concentration camps randomly and for no apparent reason but for being Jewish .
