Rand Paul for President: Is Rand Paul Using His Father’s Campaign to Lay the Groundwork for 2016?

Ron Paul’s campaign for President has, according to most observers, lost any trace of hope that it could somehow be a relevant force in this year’s election. That is, assuming the elder Paul doesn’t run on a third party ticket, which he has said he won’t.
But what if Ron Paul‘s 2012 run isn’t the point? What if Ron Paul 2012 is, in fact, a well-coordinated dress rehearsal for a far more serious campaign on behalf of Paul’s son, Senator Rand Paul, come 2016? Business Insider thinks that’s the story that might be developing:
The younger Paul’s prospective campaign is still four, or eight, years away, but the junior Senator appears to be taking all the right steps to position himself for when the time comes. Later this month Rand will return to Iowa — without his father — to deliver the keynote speech at the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalitions spring rally — the most obvious indication yet that Sen. Paul has his own presidential ambitions.
“He loves Iowa,” Sen. Paul’s communications director Moira Bagley told Business Insider. “He’s been out there so much, with his dad’s campaign, so he’s really comfortable and really happy with the people out in Iowa, and especially the evangelical groups.”[...]
Business Insider has learned that Sen. Paul has even been approached about a possible trip to Israel with Christian activist David Lane, a conservative kingmaker whose “Pastor Policy Briefings” helped launch Mike Huckabee’s political star in 2008.[...]
Lane‘s interest in Rand’s Israel positions also underscores the opportunity that the younger Paul has to rewrite parts of the narrative about the Ron Paul movement, specifically regarding national security and foreign policy issues. Although the two Pauls positions are mostly similar, Rand Paul appears to have the political instincts and finesse that his father so endearingly lacks.
This last point could mark an encouraging turn for the many people who have long wanted to harness the Paul campaign‘s youthful energy without necessarily accepting the candidate’s more anti-American sentiments regarding foreign policy. More to the point, Rand Paul’s successful insurgency in 2010 shows that he is capable of coming up against the GOP establishment at a national level, while also working with them once the primary was over to defeat a Democrat.
Is Rand Paul the Presidential candidate of the future GOP? Weigh in below.

I would like to see Rand as his dad’s VP and then Run for Presidency for the longest Paul family Dynasty that would finally bring some Patrick Henry common sense back to this country. 16 Years of the greatest liberty bomb ever. Do not mistake Ron Paul for a pacifist, he has stated that if we are threatened and CONGRESS felt it was in our National security and made a proper declaration of WAR, he would enforce and conduct that war in the most efficient and quickest means to obtain victory. No nation building, just a destroyed enemy emitting no more threats. People must stop with their ridiculous “I like him but his foreign policy scares me” . This is media brainwash crap. For anyone to say that Ron Paul would not defend this county’s liberty is a fool. The ideal that we can’t be diplomatically engaged to promote peace and trade, speak softly but carry big stick is unproductive and encourages confrontations which ends up costing us TRILLIONS of dollars in the end and does little to secure the peace. As Ron has said our policy is what is instigating a lot of the bad behavior around the world. BLOW BACK!!!! The CIA termed it blowback in a congressional briefing.. People need to stop being so scared of boogey men. The United States still retains the means to ASSURE DESTRUCTION!!!!

That is because they are making an educated guess about who unbound delegates will vote for, not because it is part of their blatant effort to marginalize Ron Paul.

Either the Republicans elect Ron Paul as the front runner, or the vote will be split between Mitt and Gary Johnson and Ron Paul as a write in, and you will end up with Obama again!
The fact is that Ron Paul has been right for 30 years! Click on the links below to see for yourself. Perhaps this will help you to think for yourself as well, instead of listening to Fox, that are in the tank for the establishment Republicans!

You severely overestimate the number of people that will to vote 3rd party. For example; I am going to vote for Ron Paul in my state’s upcoming primary, however I am definitely going to vote for Mitt Romney in the general, as he will obviously be the nominee.
Most people are smart enough to realize that a second term for Obama would be disastrous, and will not trash their vote on Gary Johnson or any other 3rd party candidate.

Posted on May 4, 2012 at 3:34amRon Paul has 40 delegates…in two states, Colorado and Minnesota each have 20 Paul delegates and Minnesota isn’t even done electing delegates to national. Many other caucus states are having similar results. Better question is why, when the race is far from over, are people like Hannity and Limbaugh, alleged conservatives, are carrying Romney’s water for him, pretending he’s got it all sewn up? Imagine what it would do for Paul if these phonies actually treated him fairly and started promoting him like they did with Cain, Santorum and Gingrich. Rush, et al. are every bit as corrupt as the so-called mainstream media.

Posted on May 4, 2012 at 10:49amI confess I have a man crush on Rand Paul. I love his dad as well but we must all acknowledge that in a country like America where such large swaths of the population are entirely ignorant and superficial appearances do matter.
I’m almost to the point even with Ron Paul winning state after state with Delegates to encouraging him to run 3rd Party. The filthy Neo-Con establishment isn’t offering us one thing. Although we are prepared to totally take this Party back in 2016 so maybe we just sit back and watch Romney lose it.. Bottom line on a scale of 1-10 with Obama being a 10 (bad for the country and Constitution); Romney is 8. That’s not good enough folks. And when you start throwing in names like Christy or Rubio that puts him up to a 9!
Regardless Rand Paul is a man among boys.. Never like to esteem or exalt people too much because we are all so fallible but Rand is the man! As good as Rand is do you know he barely won the KY Senatorial race.. That Democrat that he beat reminded me very much of Bill Clinton – a consummate liar but looked good doing it.. Funny thing about Obama is that he’s so pathetic his lies are not even believable. He’d absurd but that’s where we are at today.. Demographics are about to overcome us all.

Posted on May 4, 2012 at 3:06pm@MrSuperPat My problem with Paul isn‘t that I think he is a pacifist or that he wouldn’t fight if we are threatened. My problem is that his thinking is that we sit back and wait until we are threatened or attacked rather than proactively trying to prevent such things from happening. I do agree that if we are going to war with someone that this whole business of bombing them into the dust and then spending years trying to rebuild them so that we can make nice is most of the time a waste of time and money. But my fear that Paul will not be pro active and rather reactive when it comes to dealing with threats to this country from others is what keeps me from voting for him sorry. You can’t be reactive or under estimate your enemy or you will get burnt.

Get ready GOP, I have been telling you about all this for quite some time and a lot of you dismissed it. Romney supporters are not as co-ordinated or excited about their candidate and that will hurt him. We will see what Texas and California bring and see you at the convention. If nothing else, we are going to change the GOP for the better no matter what anyone says. All Ron Paul supporters listen closely, vote for Paul on the first round no matter what state you are from. Let’s kick some butt. If the GOP continues to fraud the vote, we will make sure their pick does not win the general. That way we can look at Rand in four years. Pass this on everywhere.

I am tired of broken campaign promises from elite candidates that promise the moon, and everyone knows that nobody can promise the moon. Government cannot create jobs, get that through you thick head. Paul supporters are looking at the big picture, and that is if Romney gets the nomination, we will do all we can to keep him from being elected. If he is elected, it will be 8 years before we have a chance to put in a true constitutionalist. If Obama is in, it is only 4 years. The GOP is going to pay for the fraud that they have done in this primary. I nothing else, Gary Johnson has won the Libertarian nomination and is a better choice than Romney. All you stubborn Republicans are doing the party an injustice by listening to the media and believing what they say.
Paul still has a good chance though. You asked where do we get our numbers? From real media sources. The GOP is being taken over by Paul supporters and in 4 years, the party will be different. You have nobody to blame but yourselves.

Do you want your freedoms returned or do you want to eat, sleep, and work, pay taxes and banker interest.
With Paul there will be no riots in the streets in America. WIth Obama you may see a full blown revolution. WIth Romney who knows at this point. Romney may keep the people drugged with lies.

By winning these “contest” Romney isn’t awarded a point that you write on a chalk board never to be changed. He is merely the recommended person for the delegates of that state to vote for. Those delegates are people, individuals with free will. Ron Paul supporters happen to be taking the most initiatives to become delegates. Now it’s a matter of whether or nor they will follow the recommendations that these so called “contest” dictate, which from the rules of the convention seems to indicate, they are not necessarily bound to cast a vote for any particular candidate.

At least the democrats are fairly up-front that they love top-down government, redistribution, community property. So-called conservatives are enslaving themselves to the same top-down structure, with just a slightly modified version of it from religious leaders. My favorite is the those who display Fire Obama stickers on their cars while they supported Bush’s shredding of the constitution since 9/11 forward with bailouts, wars, expanded police state. We’re having fun here in California, I think we’re going to get 120 of the near 200 delegates for the good Dr. Many of us are working very hard to save a semblance of Liberty for our children’s future, the rest of the so-called conservatives are working towards electing the most milk-toast candidate (Romney) who is as stale, boring and polished up a a 1980′s Ken Doll. C’mon JUST……… YOUUUU know. But then again maybe not? All the Ron Paul worshippers here don’t do drugs, watch endless hours of certain types of degrading porn, or visit prosiitutes ever. They JUST want everyone ELSE to have the freedom to do those things. So you may in fact not know what I’m writing about, lol.

You would rather have some one work hard and support your lazy ass. Just because I mention drugs doesn’t mean I am some bong smoking pot head. It is common sense that Marijuana harmless. Alcohol ruins lives, Pills ruin lives but that is all legal so go ahead sheeple.

Posted on May 3, 2012 at 6:28pmYes please don’t ever consider someone that wants to actually use the Constitution to govern a free and independant society where people have the chance to make their own life. And we certainly don’t want a country that is not running around the world trying to tell everyone else how to live since we do such a great job ourselves. And God forbid we actually stop adding TRILLIONS to the debt … yeah thats freaking NUTTY THINKING
