Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., lambasted the Energy Department today, saying the agency forces Americans to buy toilets that don‘t flush properly and light bulbs they don’t want in the name of energy efficiency.
During a hearing of the Senate’s Energy and Natural Resources Committee, Paul told Energy Department official Kathleen Hogan “my toilets don’t work in my house. And I blame you and people like you who want to tell me what I can install in my house.”

Posted on March 11, 2011 at 1:56amThose curly-Q light bulbs do not fit many lamps,
and even if they do, then the lamp shade won’t fit!
And try fitting a curly-Q mercury bulb into candlestick lanterns.
Lamps and light fixtures, both interior and exterior,
will have to be completely replaced.
And…no dimmers!
Report Post »Yikes…light switches will also need replacing!
Who will pay for all this? Hmmm…and who will profit?

I think everyone was one, big special argument they would love to go in front of a governmental committee and complain about. For Rand, it was his toilet. If only we all had such an opportunity to go and complain about how government intervention has affected us personally . . .

Posted on March 11, 2011 at 1:46amPeople are not going to dispose of those bulbs properly…no matter what the fine is/jail time. They don’t have GPS, it’s not like they can monitor each one. If broken/old ones get dumped in a lake repeatedly then it turns from saving energy into an environmental problem/health concerns. These people do not have a clue. I think we should cut them out of DC budget altogether, same with the internet takeover control freaks. Tooooo many control freaks in power. Stock up on the old bulbs before it’s too late! They should have to demonstrate how to properly clean up after one of those things…I bet they wouldn’t care anyway….I’m sure their decisions, don’t effect them in any way.

The libs smuggle in the larger toilet tanks from Canada. The rules they make don’t apply to them, you know. Of course they have to install them themselves because a plumber could lose his license or even get arrested….Constitution, anyone?

The new bulbs STINK! they give off a nasty light and i dont like the thought of mercury floating above my head. GOD forbid one breaks. If it does you literally have to call the EPA to clean it up because there is enough mercury in there to make the area toxic. So much for progress. Id rather have my old bulbs back.

Optic nerve pain is really bad, and I‘ve never found a medication that really kills the pain for me when I’m having an attack from that. I’d like to tell the people who are forcing me to use CFLs a big “Eff You”.

The U.S. Military has takenj an oath to uphold the Constitution. They have not pledged allegiance to the POTUS. Terry Lakin believes, as do MANY people believe, that Obama is not a legal president. He refused orders to be shipped to Afghanistan, and Obama allowed him to be stripped of everything and be put in Leavenworth Prison for six months — solitary confinement for 23 hours a day. The military judge would not allow discovery of the evidence that would have put Obama out of the White House and kept Lakin out of prison. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!

Posted on March 11, 2011 at 12:53amNotice Ms. Hogan’s response was not that they do these things for good reasons but rather that it has been a “bipartisan effort”. So in essence, her answer is “well, the other side went along with it!” Whether that is true or not…what the heck difference does it make? The question is WHY are they restricting our choices and forcing us to buy things that CANNOT BE MADE IN THE U.S.? She can’t answer that. Not because she is hypocritical (which she is)—but because she doesn’t know the first thing about the job she does other than it is where her ginormous paycheck originates from and that she gets to sit around in a cushy job dictating what Americans can and cannot do and to H with keeping manufacturing in the U.S.

Take those bulbs into the Capital and start busting them open on the floor. When they come to get you, ask them what the problem is – these are perfectly safe – just ask Kathleen Hogan and the Department of Energy.
If you mail one to her, make sure you bust it open inside the package. Imagine the Fed coming for you for a Terrorist Act for shipping her the very bulbs she if forcing all Americans to place in their homes.
Its the same old crap with our Government – If the curly bulbs are soooo great then let the Free Market Decide by individual choice at the store.

During periods of drought I have seen it gat as low as 12 feet below normal. Surprisingly, my area wasn’t under water restrictions during this period. Then it rains and it fills up again. During one Summer I saw it go from 12 feet below average to over 12 feet above causing water to run over the spillway. Freshwater is a naturally replenishing resource, at least where I live. I’ll pay for what I use, so yes, hands off my toilet, too.
