‘Rape Tag’ Shocks Parents at Minn. Elementary School

Parents at a Minnesota elementary school were alarmed to learn about a disturbing new playground game that was apparently all the rage at recess: Rape tag.

Principal Bill Sprung of Washington Elementary School in New Ulm, Minn. sent a letter home to parents Monday alerting them to the game, described as “similar to freeze tag except that a person had to be humped to be unfrozen.”

According to the letter, the game was played mainly by fifth grade students in two specific classrooms. Teachers were instructed to speak to their classes about not playing the game, and recess supervisors were told to watch for any incidents of it.

A parent first alerted Sprung to the game on Jan. 10, but he only decided to send the letters home after rumors about how it was played began swirling on Facebook. In one variation, Minnesota CBS affiliate WCCO-TV reported children were encouraged to tag each other “by pulling the other child’s private parts.” A separate WDAY-TV report stated the player who was “it” was “the rapist” and instead of saying “you’re it“ would say ”rape,” and get points for touching people on certain body parts.

According to Minnesota Fox affiliate KMSP-TV, Sprung said the school had already put a stop to the game but decided to send the letter to tamp down on the “distorted” versions.

“There was so much misinformation that was going on, parents started publishing lists of kids who might have been playing…the embellishment about the game really became extreme,” he said.

Still, Sprung praised school employees for taking swift action to put an end to the game on the playground.

“I think in terms of extinguishing the game, the school and the staff did an excellent job,” Sprung told MSNBC.

This is the classic example of what our culture has turned into. R-rated, even PG, and for sure X-rated material has been dragged into our homes through TV and movies, taught from older to younger kids, and glorified in music. Then take away teaching kids about God and His expectations for morality, throw in a dose of corrupt government forcing sex-ed and this is exactly what you get. We should all be very proud of our world. (It’s worse in some other countries) Muslins try to keep their kids on the Allah track, but throw in hatred and killing everone else. So, what a world. Seriously, we have a whole lot of work to do, and we will be held accountable if we don’t at least try. Oh, yeah.

Don’t forget the whole l g b t agenda which is being foisted on the kids, how can they be taught not to make fun of someone or discriminate against someone who is one of these categories without being taught just what it means to be someone in them? This is the totally sexualizing of kids from kindergarten on, part of the whole gay agenda, of going from discrimination to non-discrimination to (actually) promotion! If we’d been able to stop with the non-discrimination it wouldn’t have been a problem, although, to teach very young students (grade school age) even the difference between gay and straight is to take their minds off pastimes which will help them grow up with a healthy outlook on life, to putting it on sexual behavior!

you are right. The adults who started this sick culture of no God, no religion, secularism and all, have passed it to kids. Now children grow up without any real quidance in life or any real sense of morals, and this is the disturbing stories which come about.
This is sickening to the point that I am even more willing to go deeper into loan debt just to send my children to a true Christian school or homeschool them. I am so sick of hearing of child molestations at schools and throughout communities, of kids wanting to get rid of religion along with their parents, and of all the immoral stuff that goes on in the education system. It’s sickening. Meanwhile, our schools are not even ranked well internationally. Yet, children have time to play the “rape game.” Absolutely disgusting

This is so deeply ingrained in our collective human psyche that the image of a ‘mother and child’ is not only the subject of many great works of art, but is also a part of one of the world’s major religions.

How many great works of art, classic or contemporary, depict a ‘daycare worker with children’?”

Espada…Minnesota is an intriguing place. Conservative religeous folks who have been tricked to believe that they are giving to charity through the act of voting for more and more taxes to give to government charity. Yet, like my parents, they always complain of the taxes, the immorality and where in the heck did that come from. I am an odd person who would actually like to move to Minnesota and be able to take the opportunity to enjoy four seasons of different types of outdoor activities. The vast majority of my family lives there. They often ask when I’m coming back. I finally told them this past CHRISTMAS season when I was back home again, that, I really can’t see that happening. Too many liberals or like my parents….Humphrey progressives who don’t even know that they are. Funny, most people especially the elderly citizens have no idea they are being manipulated by the progressives. It’s maddening…can’t even talk politics when I go to Minnesota. How can we not be for this program or that one? Don’t you have a soul? That’s what I hear. Then they complain about how high taxes are and how so many people don’t have a work ethic anymore. I love my parents and family, just wish they would read anything else other than the Minneapolis Star Tribune. (Clone of the New York Times)

Too often they are working hard for stuff that the kids don’t really need and have no idea of what is really going on in their schools. Downsize your homes, go to one car, buy second hand clothes, get rid of cable, etc. You’re kids are being indoctrinated and any teacher who speaks out against this, is made to feel like the crazy. You then mention the “youth that don’t have any accountability in their lives. If it feels good – lets do it!” phrase which is what religion helps guard against.

Brother Ed – I was making a stupid point. The problem in our Schools today is no one holding our youth accountable – We took Prayer out of our Schools when at the time the 3 major problems were running in the hallways, talking out of turn, and chewing gum – today it’s rape, Murder and Drugs. Teachers should get combat pay.

The Bible talks about a time when Lawlessness would be removed from the earth – we are seeing that time Today! The Youth of today has been brought up that there is no need for competition, no God to worry about and no one to hold them accountable. So the Motto of the World today is “If it feels good do it! It is not my motto – I personally want Prayer back in the schools, I want those that can work but refuse too to starve or get a job, I want the Atheists to leave our God, Bible, Israel and the cross alone. I want Church goers to read the Bible and Preachers and Pastors to teach from the Bible. Stop teaching “Go along to get along.”

If Church Goers would know the Bible as well as they can make a Casserole’s for Church Dinners, then we still might have Prayer in our schools, Obama would not be in office, and Lawlessness would not be disappearing from America. If we can’t have that – and we don’t stand for that – then get ready – “Tag your Dead” is coming to our schools, Workplace, Churches and our own homes.

Please check out her website and work about what happened to the infants who were sexually brutalized for the sake of Kinsey’s studies. It seems as if the infant’s reactions to being sexually attacked by grown men and the reactions of the toddlers who were sexually attacked by grown men, indicate the children possibly were too young for a sexual experience.

A criminal record for a 5th grader playing “rape tag”, or otherwise touching another childs private areas (over their clothing) is way too harsh. Children at that age dont really understand what they are doing, they are just playing a game. Even if they know it is wrong, it is not so wrong to them that they would not join their friends who are playing. We need parents to teach their children, not have the government getting involved.

Getting the paddle was traumatic but in a good way as I said you learn fast not to do that again and I wouldn’t say it was traumatic in that it affected me negatively all my life I think it helps you know what the boundaries are that event helps set the right from wrong firmly in your mind.

I remember the good old days……Teachers told you to stop……and you did. It wasn’t news. My God, I am only 46!

wow!…rape tag…really…what the h3ll is wrong with people and where did they get this from. they should find out the origin of witch kid started this and do some investigating of the family. any 5th grader who thinks touching private parts and humping is a game has learned this from someone. most likely from someone older or even an adult. something is really wrong here.

You’re right, we’re going down the drain fast. America is being attacked from every direction. The progressives, marxist and commies along with radical religious groups are working hard to kill the constitution and every other western tradition we have. Just look at the stories on the Blaze today. We won’t make it to the election . It appears to me things are past being fixed. I hope I’m wrong and I will continue to work for our country to survive. Lord please bless our country and see us through the evil that is attacking us.

So Blaze, which is it Michigan or Minnesota?

Parents at a Michigan elementary school were alarmed to learn about a disturbing new playground game that was apparently all the rage at recess: Rape tag.

Principal Bill Sprung of Washington Elementary School in New Ulm, Minn.

The school might be named after George Washington or another Washington but in Michigan. It’s common to name schools after presidents.
