Razor Wire, Beatings, Volunteer Punishment & a Sniper’s Nest: This Scientology Camp May Have Been the Reason Katie Holmes Decided to Divorce Tom Cruise

Personally, news of the split between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes registers somewhere between “Wow, I don’t care” and “Why are you telling me this?”

But what is of some interest is the alleged reason Holmes decided to call it quits: Cruise apparently wanted their six-year-old daughter Suri to join a “religious order” within Scientology known as the “Sea Organization” (aka “Sea Org”).

Razor Wire, Beatings, Volunteer Punishment, & a Snipers Nest: This Scientology Camp Is Allegedly the Reason Katie Holmes Decided to Divorce Tom Cruise“Wilderness: Sea Org is run from Gold Base in Gilman Hot Springs, Colorado

Cruise, as you all probably know, is a Scientologist, which means he subscribes to the religion founded by the science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard.

Razor Wire, Beatings, Volunteer Punishment, & a Snipers Nest: This Scientology Camp Is Allegedly the Reason Katie Holmes Decided to Divorce Tom Cruise“Spiritual home: The $9.4million mansion which former members claim was built for the return of L. Ron Hubbard who died in 1986″

So why did Holmes protest Suri being sent off to to join the Sea Org? We turn to the Daily Mail for details of the almost 6,000 strong group:

The clergy like group is run like a military clique from the Scientology Gold Base in California which has a sniper-style nest bunker on the site.

Members are banned from having children, are paid just $50 a week and can be punished for simply looking at somebody the wrong way by being thrown in ‘The Hole’ — two trailers set aside for punishment.

It has been investigated by FBI agents looking into human trafficking and one member claimed he was locked in a ship’s hold for 18 hours a day with no food.

Well, that sounds like a great place for a six-year-old.

Members are … banned from leaving their base or they are tracked down by a special team who use emotional pressure or physical force to make them come back.

Former Scientology security chief Gary Morehead has claimed that he tracked down more than 100 Sea Org members who left in his 13 years on the job using what he called a ‘blow drill’, referring to the techniques he employed to hunt people down.

Razor Wire, Beatings, Volunteer Punishment, & a Snipers Nest: This Scientology Camp Is Allegedly the Reason Katie Holmes Decided to Divorce Tom Cruise“The road less traveled: The strict community of Scientologists have installed tight security at the base”

If Sea Org members try to leave they are also given a ‘freeloader tab’ which is a bill for all the work they have received, and can run into six figures.

Under the influence of Scientology ‘elders’, Sea Org members are convinced to ‘volunteer’ for punishments which can include being given poor quality food, sleep deprivation or being banned from talking to anyone.

They can also involve manual labor, wearing black clothes to mark you out from everybody else – and can go on for years.

And there is alleged violence:

Then there are the alleged beatings at the hands of leaders and The Hole, two trailers which can hold up to 100 people forced to do group confessions all night.

In one episode detailed in an piece in the New Yorker, those put in The Hole were told that they had to play a game of musical chairs and only the person who won would be allowed to stay.

Razor Wire, Beatings, Volunteer Punishment, & a Snipers Nest: This Scientology Camp Is Allegedly the Reason Katie Holmes Decided to Divorce Tom Cruise“Rough terrain: Members are allegedly banned from leaving the isolated base, according to former members”

As the Queen hit ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ boomed out of the stereo, it took until 4am before there was a winner, by which time things turned violent with one chair being ripped in two.

But you think that’s bad? Some of the other reports are far, far worse:

In 2009 former Sea Org members Claire and Marc Headley sued the church after joining in their teens and falling in love.

She claimed to have been pressured into having two abortions because rules state she could not have children, although they lost the case.

Razor Wire, Beatings, Volunteer Punishment, & a Snipers Nest: This Scientology Camp Is Allegedly the Reason Katie Holmes Decided to Divorce Tom Cruise“Devout: The religious technology center at the gated compound which sits in arid foothills, 90 miles from LA”

And the oddities continue:

The security measures are extreme and include motion sensors, razor tipped wire and what appears to be a camouflaged nest bunker with clear sightlines over the entire property.

Razor Wire, Beatings, Volunteer Punishment, & a Snipers Nest: This Scientology Camp Is Allegedly the Reason Katie Holmes Decided to Divorce Tom Cruise“Faithful: An aerial shot shows members at Scientology HQ Gold Base – where it has been claimed that members are paid just $50 a week and tracked down if they try to leave”

Katie has public support and spirit on her side.
It’s nice to see her smile again, obviously this major decision is a huge weight
off her shoulders, without it, she gains strength.

The worse thing Cruise can do…is bully this mother & child
and put them through the wringer….the world has Katie’s back !

All adoration & any feel-good fuzzies toward Tom will dissipate quickly,
if he proceeds with a heavy hand and angry heart.
He will become one of the most despised persons on earth-
he will NEVER live it down.
He’s too smart to not recognize that & would have to be too evil to force his hand.
He risks losing his daughter & losing his good-guy reputation.

Sooner or later. Scientology gives everyone the creeps-
just ask Lisa Marie Presley ?

Practice what you wish but leave innocent children out of it.
In due time, they will make their own decision about life, religion, whom & what to worship.

Cruise needs to set Suri & her mother free
and hope his daughter maintains a role in his life,
as a happy, healthy girl who loves her dad, unconditionally !
Katie & Suri deserve better…and Tom Cruise should KNOW better !

One major difference to me is Mormons believe they are the “true Christians” and the faiths that follow Jesus Christ of the Bible are not really any different than other faiths of the world. We claim to have the authority that Luther, Wesley and others said was lacking from the Roman Catholic Church.

I just don’t get it, the salvation story as presented in the Holy Bible is a complex history, yet simple “story”–God created us for His Own Glory, for Communion with Him, for our own good. Yet, we soon became self-centered, believed a lie and turned to our own answers. History since the Garden of Eden has been one of increasing civilization and understanding. Our sinfulness separates us from God who can stand nothing but complete Righteousness.

God, outside of time, allows us to “mature” to a point in history that He wraps Himself in the guise of man, shows us Himself through His Son, pays the price of sin at the cross, comes back to life in a Glorified Body, goes back to heaven leaving many firsthand witnesses, and promises to return in the future for His Own, and to set up a New Heaven and a New Earth.

Now, all of this is “fantastic” enough for me, yet others must had to this story or completely COMPETE with this story–scientologists with all of the above and more, Mormons with golden tablets that magically appear and disappear, additonal “gospels,” secret temple rituals (“secret” being the key here), and beliefs in becomming “gods” from a PART OF A VERSE taken out of context! In addition, 15 hundred years after God came to earth and the eye witnesses set up the Church he desired, small groups who want their own way break off and “rediscover” only part of the story. . .

We are a very strange people! God help us and save us as You already have!

Well, yeah! Could anyone think it’s anything but a slavish cult?

So, L Ron Hubbard was somewhat akin to another prophet from the 7th Century. When will this cult evolve to women forced to wear only certain apparel, stoning, and beheadings?

As soon as they run out of rich people to pull into their scam. Hubbard was a ok SF writer but this ‘church’ is a pure and simple CULT/SCAM to make the leaders rich. I‘m surprised that they don’t have an influence with the DNC. Or maybe they do, that might explain a whole lot.

And it’s also been reported Tom worked as a Fudge packer for many years, but currently only does it as a hobby now.

Hollywood types are crazy. They live and work in fantasy land but don’t understand the real world is different. Scientology seems to be an extension of the fantasy!

Anyone who’s ever lived in Clearwater, FL has a good basis of understanding of what these Drones are like. They march around town in their creepy uniforms scaring the pants off the women and children.
