Get excited — summer starts today! And this is hands down the most important summer of your life. This is the summer we take the responsibility of restoring America out of government hands and put it back into ours. We’ve got a lot of work to do.
But before I get into what I want you to do this summer, let’s take a moment and remember what our brave men and women in the military have already done and continue to do for this country and for freedom around the globe. After the disgraceful way we treated Vietnam vets, we promised to never let that happen again. Today is a great chance to stop and remember the price the countless heroes have paid to secure our freedom.
This Memorial Day, I’m drawn more than ever to the words of Abraham Lincoln. Speaking in his Gettysburg Address, he said, “It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us — that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion — that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain — that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”
Those beautiful words describe not only the incredible price American soldiers pay for our freedom, but also the responsibility that we owe to those soldiers to make sure their sacrifice was not in vain. Everyday, “We the People” are charged with making sure freedom is not lost in this great country. Do you want to be the generation that allowed freedom to perish? That allowed the greatest nation in the history of the planet to fail? I for one am not going to sit silently and wait for someone else to do something about it. The time for action is now.
One of the major stops along the road is Restoring Love. Most regular seating is sold out, but there are packages still available that will offer three full days of amazing programming and events focused on getting us all active, informed, and organized – not just as a political movement but as a cultural one.

I know you are busy. But I urge you to do whatever it is you can. One day your kids will ask you what you did during this time. The words of Samuel Adams come to mind:
“If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; may your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countryman.”

Ever had a look at Charles Dana’s politics. Lincoln’s Assistant Secretary of War, flaming socialist who personally accepted Karl Marx’s “Manifesto” from the hand of Joseph Weydemeyer. Dana was penpals with and personal employer of Marx.
Have you ever studied any of Lincoln’s administration for any connection to socialists? I’ll bet not, but the flaming liberals sure know the facts about it.

You might want to read Lincoln’s state of the union adress, December 1862.
Read all of it. Abe was perfectly willing to allow slavery into perpetuity, set up federal funds for those states who would free them by 1900 to compensate the emancipation – and gave the Confederate States 100 days to come back if they’d agree to it. Doesn‘t seem like he’s too worried about taking the US off the gold standard, nor running big deficits in the Mail, or having any qualms about enlarging government even during war – hence the establishment of the USDA and transcontintal railroad.
Us “Good Ol’ boys” aren’t the ones lying – its the folks feeding your this Lincolnite crap to keep the train rolling toward socialism. Marx wasn’t a well recorded supporter of Lincoln and the “Union” for nothing; he never mentions slavery without equating the “plight of the working-man” with it – which is the socialist mantra. So as it was in 1861, it is now in 2012. If you’re conservative presently, you’re a racist slaveowner – even though slavery hasn’t existed for 143 years – and nobody is calling for its return.
Marxists have always been the same and have used the same language since Lincoln. The Marxist Liberal Progressives have a more legitimate claim on the the man than any Conservative ever has, and Obama is about to prove it to you. When he pulls the trigger, he’ll evoke the name of Lincoln to justify himself – will you cheer then?

As a state senator, Lincoln was in favor of preventing free blacks from entering the state. Lincoln was part of the Whig Party which today would translate into a protectionist-high tariff-government subsidized industry type of person…..Sort of a democrat moderate.
Lincoln wrote to Horace Greely on August 22, 1862 -almost a year and a half after the Civil War broke out, when the South was gaining momentum and the outcome was far from certain….
“My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave, I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves, I would do it; and if I could do it by freeing some and leaving others alone, I would also do that.”

I do question why he idolizes someone who raped the Constitution, had the Maryland Legislature arrested so they could not vote against him, tried to have the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court arrested, only “freed” slaves in a country of which he was not president, and was seriously considering sending blacks back to Africa. And these are only a few examples.

Actually, I didn’t…..you just imagined that I did….
When Lincoln says: “The most that can be said, if so much, is, that slaves are property.” …..then he is talking about using human beings as an object or instrument in order to use them to wage war with…
The Emancipation Proclamation didn’t free any slaves inside Union-held territory at all (that wouldn’t occur until ratification of the 13th Amendment in 1866)…..Lincoln’s only interest was to use the slaves remaining inside Confederate-held territory as a weapon against the Confederate army.
It’s crystal clear what Lincoln is referring to here, so I don‘t know what ’other’ context there is that you could possibly be referring to.
Haven’t you ever used somebody before in order to get what you want??

It was an awesome sight to see people of all creeds and colors paying their respect to the fallen and to the living who currently are serving. When members of the different branches of the military walked by, everyone rose to their feet and started clapping and cheering. Now this is the America that Glenn and all of us envison where we can stand shoulder to shoulder, despite our differences and celebrate the people who fought for our freedom!

I believe that they emphasized States over National Government… and saw Union as simply being a Beneficial Conidtion, as in the First Confederacy, where lacking Benefit could result in Independent Republics, such as Texas!

There was no need to abolish it in the North since the citizens found it disgusting. I hope you also realize that the Missouri compromise is one of many steps that led directly to the Civil War. That effectively drew an imaginary line through the country that would become the source of animosity between the North and the South.
I honestly believe that slavery would have eventually been stamped out through States rights, but I also agree with Lincoln. If the States have to vote to allow you in, they should have to vote in order for you to leave.

I live in Virginia. The colonies did not vote whether to accept Virginia….Each state voted independently whether they wanted to join. You are wrong to say that they ‘allowed’ Virginia in. Therefore, if an individual state wants out – they should be able to vote amongst themselves the same way they came in.

Just finished reading UNBROKEN a WW 2 true story about American POW’s in Japan. All young kids about the same age as the OWS crowd. Makes you want to go down and strangle them. This book should be required reading for admission to college. and by the Professors that teach there. These young men were the real Americans. GOD BLESS all of our present and past service men and women.

If you can’t meet their dress code, you don’t get to enter. Furthermore, cities, counties, and states have laid out laws and ordinances regarding similar dress codes…by their respective health departments predominately where those businesses serve food and/or beverages. Various cities, counties, and states also provide dress codes regarding entering businesses around ocean front beaches, and even fresh water recreational areas. So, go ahead and whine all you want, and try your best to excoriate Beck for agreeing. Just because one is somewhat handicapped, and I myself fall within that category, does not mean you can just willy nilly get your way when in public.
