It’s hard to believe that we are only a few days away from Christmas. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s starting to become unrecognizable. As I spent my last few days in New York City I saw the streets lined with shoppers at all hours of the day. A few weeks ago I saw people fighting over waffle makers and toasters. It seems like people are more focused on “me” and “mine” rather than on the true meaning of the season.
Whether or not you believe there is a “War on Christmas”, you can’t deny that the real meaning of December 25th is being forgotten. Atheist billboards are replacing nativity scenes and our President is lighting a Menorah as just an excuse for a “good party”. I’m sorry, but if you’re lighting a candle just because it’s that time of year then you are missing the point – that miracles can happen and that God is here to light the way in the darkness.
If you are celebrating next to a “Holiday Tree” and all you care about is shopping and presents then you are missing the transformative nature of Christmas. It’s an idea that is repeated in every story this time of year from A Christmas Carol to Miracle on 34th Street – the idea that we can believe in powers greater than ourselves and we can be fundamentally transformed. The themes of redemption, selflessness and transformation go all the way back to The Bible with the birth of a baby in a manger in Bethlehem.
With our obsession over “stuff” we are missing out on the good things in life – the gifts that don’t need to be wrapped. It’s not about waffle makers or toasters, the true power and meaning of Christmas is about doing the right thing and helping each other. And it’s not supposed to be contained to a two-week season and then forgotten. We are supposed to take these gifts with us throughout the whole year.
I hope you spend the next few days with your family and friends and celebrate the real meaning of Christmas. I hope you reach out to others in need and offer a helping hand, and I hope you get to celebrate the season free from oppression, judgment, or “Holiday Trees”. And finally, I hope you find the transformative power of this miraculous season.
Laos Deo,

Thank you, for all you’ve done to open the eyes of our nation and abroad to the evil that surrounds us.
Uncovering the organizations dedicated to the demise of this great nation. So that this country does no suffer the enslavement my homeland of Cuba has under the Marxist demagogues, like Castro and Guevara. The complicit nature of the liberal media to cover up or distort the intent of this administration and its allies. For your efforts and labor the country is eternally in your debt,
May you and your family be blessed with happiness and surrounded with love, in this Christmas season.
To all Blaze readers and writer, have a wonderful holiday season and may the Lord always be with you.

Posted on December 23, 2011 at 8:13pmMERRY CHRISTMAS, Everyone.
It is all about JESUS. Some “get it” now; others will “get it” as they go along; some will never “get it”.
Sort of like AMERICA. We will either return or turn to GOD so that HE has reason to spare it (we “get it” now); others will “get it” as their eyes, hearts, minds are opened; some never will “get it” ever, for the concept of AMERICA, like the reality of JESUS are only for those with “eyes to see” and “ears to hear”.
GOD BLESS, Glenn, family and team.
GOD BLESS you all reading this post.
And, GOD, please bless AMERICA again.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS. THANK YOU, GOD, FOR THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL.

Posted on December 23, 2011 at 8:08pmOne Solitary Life
Report Post »Here is a man who was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He grew up in another village. He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty. Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher.
He never owned a home. He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family. He never went to college. He never put His foot inside a big city. He never traveled two hundred miles from the place He was born. He never did one of the things that usually accompany greatness. He had no credentials but Himself…
While still a young man, the tide of popular opinion turned against him. His friends ran away. One of them denied Him. He was turned over to His enemies. He went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed upon a cross between two thieves. While He was dying His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on earth – His coat. When He was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.
Nineteen long centuries have come and gone, and today He is a centerpiece of the human race and leader of the column of progress.
I am far within the mark when I say that all the armies that ever marched, all the navies that were ever built; all the parliaments that ever sat and all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully as has that one solitary life. He lives on..King of Kings. Lord of Lords.Jesus..God in three persons..Blessed Trinity!

Posted on December 24, 2011 at 11:10amSounds good, but it is not factual. He was born in Bethlehem, a suburb of the capital city of Jerusalem hat WAS a major city. Bethlehem was the sheepfold for the sacrificial flock. The shepherds by the way were not the despised low class that some thing, they were the Levitical priests that tended the sacrifical flock. In the book of Luke we see the angels making the anouncement to the priests of that flock that the human that was to become THE sacrifice was born. To escape Heord, his family took him to Egypt. From Egypt to the norther areas that he traveled was greater than 200 miles. The word carpenter is a misnomer or mistranslation, Very few trees grew in that part of Israel. His family was construction workers, more likely stone masons. Poor and uneducated are two seperate issues. He was raised in a town that WAS small, the meaning of Nazareth stems from the word netzer which means shoot, as in a shoot from an olive tree.
Repeating good sounding but empty words does no one a favor, and further clouds the issues.

Posted on December 25, 2011 at 12:43amYou forgot to add most of what we think we know about him is based on a conglomeration of 16 other man/god saviors whose mythology dates as far back as 1000 years before anyone ever heard of him and most of what he allegedly said is plagiarized from Rabbis contemporary to the Second Temple era. God forbid anyone should do any investigation into that since it‘s so much easier to let other people think for you and just regurgitate what you’ve been told.

Christmas Dinner Menu for the soldiers about to ship out to the South Pacific…
From the officers at this season come sincere greetings for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in this, our second Christmas at war in this decade.
Last year most of you were still civilians, many not old enough to volunteer. This year you have left family, friends and home in order to make certain that future Christmas seasons here and throughout the world will be celebrated by free men.
You men who are now in training are the special responsibility of the officers here who must needs be parent and friend too. We realize our debt and duty to the men of our command and strive mightily that your Christmas may be happy and that the new year will hold much in store for you in advancement, in the acquisition of knowledge and in the opportunity to match your brains, skill and strength against the forces of evil let loose upon the world today.
our greeting to you is simple—Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Semper Fidelis…

Posted on December 24, 2011 at 11:11amYes you are correct that Yahshua was born on the Feast of Tabernacles (Sept) having struck a tent in human flesh, he was the Passover lamb slain before the foundation of the world, He fullfilled Passover completely and in His second coming he will fullfill the fall feasts of the Lord. And I find it a shame that the church has done so much to try an expunge from the Son of Yah his Jewishness and the fact he was a rabbi. HOWEVER: I care about Christmas: 1. There is such a unrelenting attack on everything associatied with Christianity these days, putrid so called art that desecrates Christianity, attack by groups like these misguided pittiful fools (the bible says those that do not believe in the Almighty are fools), crass commercialism, this politically correct bs of “holiday” tree, etc – so I am encouraged when I hear CHRIST mas, 2 Even though Yahshua was not born on December 25th (instead every pagan god was, mithra, Tamuz, etc), NOT BORN BUT MAYBE CONCEIVED: it would make perfect sense that he was begotten on Dec 25th for the Word says he came “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” Col 2 v14-16 – The timing of the Almighty is impecable and his being conceived on Dec. 25th makes elegant sense. Regardless in the best meaning of the phrase “Merry Christmas
Report Post »BornJewishMuslimByFaith
Posted on December 24, 2011 at 8:15pmThis is actually incorrect. Jesus was not the Passover Lamb. Because the Passover Lamb was not a sacrifice.
http://www.outreachjudaism.org/articles/jesus-passover.html
For this reason, Moses refused Pharaoh’s initial offer that the Jews bring their sacrifice to God while remaining in Egypt, following the third plague of lice. Moses explained to Pharaoh that it would be impossible for his people to sacrifice these animals in this land because the Egyptians would execute us for carrying out this ceremony (Exodus 8:25-26).
The Almighty, therefore, tested the faithfulness of the Jewish people by commanding them to kill Egypt’s cherished god, and place the lamb’s blood on their doorposts, displayed for all of their neighbors to see. Only those Israelites who, like Abraham, demonstrated that they feared nothing but the God of Israel were deemed worthy to have their homes “passed over” during the tenth and final plague.
There is nothing about Jesus here.

Are you mad that your pagan day is used by someone else?
First off it was Pagan Rome that adopted the all of the pagans and their statues. It was a political move when Constantine consolidated all of them into one big happy family while adding a mere sampling of Christianity.
Roman Catholics are not Christian that is why we Protestant Christians started America is to be free of them and the Church of England, which is only a baby step out of the Rome thing.
In America we adopted parts of it true and added something’s from the Germanic people and made it OUR very own time to give notice to the Jesus the Christ of the world.

In the Bible it really does say the tree is just a dead thing. The real celebration, sure is a mix of pagan winter solstice and Christian belief, installed by Constantine, when he converted Rome to Christianity. Same for Easter (Ester), dual meaning. It was a way to get the pagans to come ‘on board’, with Rome.
All could celebrate, EXCEPT the farmers, people had to eat you know.
Still, we as Christian’s can celebrate Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, this and every year, as we really do not know the exact date of his birth. I, for one, wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!

Report Post »Keep on making sure of what is acceptable to the Lord. Ephesians 5: 10
also 2 Corinthians 6: 14 Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what does light have to do with darkness? 15. Further, what harmony is ther between Christ and Be’lial ?

Posted on December 23, 2011 at 10:44pmIt wouldn’t be false worshiping if we are worshiping Jesus, whatever day we may worship Him. The fact that there is one day that we give to Christ, I’m sure He appreciates the one day around a large portion of the world that we celebrate His birth. If you believe in philosophers than time is only by mans standards, there is no past, present or future. So when we celebrate His birth, He is being born!

Posted on December 23, 2011 at 11:47pmYour right Christians were hoping to bring lawless masses to God as well as end the brutality at the end of the Roman festival, Saturnalia. At the end of the festival a man or woman who was picked as the “ enemy of Rome” were killed. Rabbi’s were made to wear clown suits and so on.
It is one of the things the faith leaders did back then that I think was a good thing.
God finds a way brother, God finds a way.

Posted on December 24, 2011 at 3:50amThat Christmas is of pagan origin is hardly a matter of debate. It is a matter of fact that the same date was celebrated by the Pagan Romans as the Birthday of the Sun god and had originated in the Babylonian Mystery Religion.
Report Post »Most encyclopedias readily admit this fact under their articles on Christmas. Even the Christian Book of Why CBW) (which in general advocates observance of Christmas) admits the pagan origin of Christmas. One of the first questions this book answers about Christmas is “Why was Christmas not celebrated by Christians of the Early Church?” (a point even the Christian Book of Why does not dispute). The CBW answers this question:

Posted on December 24, 2011 at 10:04amI agree that “Christians” appropriated the pagan “Sol Invictus” and called it Christmas. I worship the Jewish Messiah as my Lord and my God. I do NOT celebrate “Christmas”. For those of you who say “no one knows when Jesus was born” perhaps YOU do not know when he was born. Should you desire to know, the information is available in your bible. With that said, WE live in America, and you are free to celebrate Christmas, AND I will defend your right to do so.
Shalom

Posted on December 24, 2011 at 12:07pmI am a Christian and I know this to be true. I do use the holiday to spend time with family and we observe traditions. I do not believe this to be a Christian holiday. There are other Christians like myself who believe the same thing and we make ourselves separate false belief or teachings that most Christians follow. Like Sunday worship, once saved always saved and that the souls of the dead go flying up to heaven or hell.

“Yes” and “No”.
Report Post »YES – Some of those who call themselves “Christians” HAVE adopted the pagan celebration of the White Solstice under the name of “Christmas”.
NO – True Christians don’t celebrate pagan holidays — it won’t even occur to them, they already observe God’s Holy Days (as He has outlined).

Posted on December 24, 2011 at 10:54pm@Glenn Beck – “Whether or not you believe there is a ‘War on Christmas’, you can’t deny that the real meaning of December 25th is being forgotten.”
[read this as if spoken by William Shatner] Yes! But! Not! The way! You think!
The “real meaning of December 25th” is … it’s a pagan celebration with a tacked-on Christian-sounding name.
@Glenn Beck – “I hope you get to celebrate the season free from oppression, judgment, or ‘Holiday Trees’.”
6 He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:

But their heart is far from Me.
7 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men — the washing of pitchers and cups, AND MANY OTHER SUCH THINGS YOU DO.”
9 He said to them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.”

Posted on December 24, 2011 at 11:43pmAs athiests my wife and I celebrate Christmas with our children with a Christmas Tree and Santa too. We do it as an American tradition not as a religious thing. I grew up celebrating Christmas just as my kids do today and I think they are learning what it means to give.

She has told me the story. However, she is comfortable with the situation and bears no ill will over it. Perhaps you could take a page from her book?
I acknowledge that Christians are not perfect and have committed atrocious acts in the past. But we have learned from our mistakes (To a certain point. Come on, I said we’re not perfect.) and have moved on. Can you not do the same?
