Read the Memo That Killed Bin Laden

Time Magazine has obtained a copy of the final memo Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta sent before Osama bin Laden died. The original text is illegible, but we’ve reproduced it below anyway, with a translated transcript after it:

Time Magazine Showcases Final Memo Sent Before Osama Bin Ladens Death by Defense Secretary Leon Panetta

 MEMO FOR THE RECORD Apr. 29, 2011, 10:35 a.m.

Received phone call from Tom Donilon who stated that the President made a decision with regard to AC1 [Abbottabad Compound 1]. The decision is to proceed with the assault. The timing, operational decision making and control are in Admiral McRaven’s hands. The approval is provided on the risk profile presented to the President. Any additional risks are to be brought back to the President for his consideration. The direction is to go in and get bin Laden and if he is not there, to get out. Those instructions were conveyed to Admiral McRaven at approximately 10:45 am.

    My only problem with this story is that I can’t read most of that memo… the copy is small and the handwriting is atrocious.

      MONACNE/SLEAZY HIPPO….when I asked you recently about what policies Obama had SOLELY implemented that led to the kiling of OBL you offered the recent propaganda film commissioned by the Obama campaign and told me (with a straight face) that Obama actually trained the pilots that flew in the SEAL team. It appears from this memo that all Obama did was say “yes” to the operation and all the details, logistics and timing were handled by Admiral McRaven. MONACNE/SLEAZY HIPPO…I’m calling you a liar..not that I believed you in the first place but this memo vindicates me….you’re a liar.

      I was obviously joking. (LOL) Our duly elected President of the United States could not have been “training the Air Force pilots” who transported the SEAL team, since everyone knows he was at the time making fun of Donald Trump and then scuba diving to the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico to personally cap the oil spill. Besides, those elite pilots are expertly trained to begin with and only needed to conduct team Mission Familiarization drills at Ft. AP Hill to prepare for the eventual direct order to proceed.

      Off topic, (smile) It’s interesting to see how many folks only post during office hours. Sometimes bored and underemployed young males become enraged and lash out at their fantasy foes, which they first dehumanize by assigning special mystical powers. It’s almost as interesting as Naruto Shippuden episode 258. Or taking a ramen noodle break.

      An interesting aspect of using water boarding-derived information is that it contains so much disinformation and fake information (just to stop the interrogators) that using it puts the agency on a series of wild goose chases. Some say these can rack up many person-years of costly wasted effort that puts our side at unnecessary risk.

      Much nicer to collect trusted HUMINT in the field and augment it with discreetly collected ISR that can be independently verified, create fact-based scenarios and then send in professionals with actionable intelligence.

      But the problem for you MONACNE is that KSM INDEED gave us the first clues about Obama’s courier AFTER waterboarding broke him. That”s the key isn’t sweeite? His will was broken and he talked and he talked alot and he wasn’t doing that before we started waterboarding him. And his information about this courier was later confimed by his successor al-Libi in 2006 (but according to your post further down..this never took place at all and only in the two years obama was in office at the time did we have any leads on OBL). The facts as they stand today tell us MONANCE/SLEAZY HIPPO that the first intel we had on the courier who led us to OBL was from KSM talking after waterboarding broke him. Then years of eliminating and confirming leads led us to the compounnd in Pakistan.
      But let’s not mire ourselves in your lies and half-truths and obfuscations MONACNE/SLEAZY HIPPO. You still run like a lefty cur and refuse to tell me why you need so many screennames here. I just dont’ get it? Why should a self professed happily married woman to a successful man with children (as you’ve created for your MONACNE persona) need to do this curious and duplictous thing?       I believe that because we went in with cameras blazing, making a spectacle of the whole things

      According to the official photo released (obama and his staff huddled in the basement) our feckless leader was not sitting in the Presidents chair… no barry was sitting in the corner (a sideboy chair) to the right of an Officer sitting at the “head” of the table (with hillary gasping in horror as “real men” took down AC1. That picture said it all… no one in that administration knew what they were getting into, until it happened as they watched (in horror and amazement) via satellite.

      Achievement? Obama implement no policy of his own that led to the killing of OBL..NONE..NOTHING! The policies were all G W Bush’s. Heck…the first knowledge we had of the courier that led us to OBL was through the waterboarding of Khalid Sheik Mohammed who began singing like bird after he was waterboarded and Obama outlawed that practice.       Somehow, Osama Bin Laden eluded detection for almost a decade of GWOT tactics.

      By focusing on factual evidence that could be visually recorded using covert ISR means, the national team of civilian and military professionals completed the mission successfully in less than 2 years.

This courier used nicknames and aliases making him very difficult to confirm and track and it was much later in 2006 that a seperate source from KSM gave us the confirmation of this courier’s existence. It was then a tedious and lengthy process of intelligence gathering and monitoring him that led us to OBL. What I find particularly laughable about you MONACNE/SLEAZY HIPPO is that you pretend to know a lot about a lot of stuff..and you actually know nothing at all….clownshoes.

    Questions:

    The memo and not Obama made the assault?
    If the memo is illegable then how could you obtain a translation of it? Unless you can read Doctor?

    Personally for me, with the death of my fiance on 9/11 the death of UBL was long overdue; I give the thanks for it to the SEAL team and those who supported, among all military forces, their entry, strike and exit.

    They are the heros, all of the armed forces involved; NOT Obama or Panetta.

    Ah, the media. You can always tell when a Lefty is in the White House: the media purrs praise and totally excuses their failures while acting as a conduit for all of the Left’s agenda. Time, NYT, NPR, MSNBC…the propaganda arm of the so-called Democrats. Reminds me of the “news” in the New York Times: all the “ news ” that the Obama Administration and their International Left allies want publicized. One of the hardest thing for conservatives to overcome is the Media control of the Left. Witness the Murdoch “ tabloid” witch hunt ( as if all tabloids don’t use sleazy methods to produce sleazy material ). Murdoch’s biggest mistake was to buy a tabloid. That was a huge error in judgement. And the sleazy Left has made him pay dearly for that mistake. They are “crucifying” him for that error as they like to do with their ” enemies.”

    Bin Laden is alive! His terror network is intact. It resides in the filthy un-American regime. Poised and ready to pat down old grandmas and infant children at the whim of a nazi thug. Poised and ready to murder pigs at a farm near you. Terror is very much alive in the USA.

      True. Very true. However, the real Bin Laden may actually be alive. In my opinion, they probably captured him alive and then planted the phony story about the sea burial so that no one would ever question it. The whole sea burial thing was so far fetched it never did make sense. Bin Laden is more than likely tucked away in some secret CIA hole.
