Birds of a Feather: Chuck Schumer Backs Reid on Romney Tax Slur, Blames Tea Party for Everything That’s Wrong in D.C.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Friday defended Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-NV) tax slur against Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney and attacked Sen. Tom Coburn’s (R-OK) recent defense of the Tea Party.
But let’s start with the New York senator’s defense of Reid, shall we?
Senators Harry Reid (D-NV) & Chuck Schumer (D-NY)
The Nevada senator on Tuesday told the Huffington Post that “a credible source” told him Mitt Romney went 10 years without paying any taxes. He even repeated this unsubstantiated claim on Thursday from the floor of the Senate.
But despite the fact that Reid has yet to elaborate on his sources and the fact that the president’s own deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter admitted there’s nothing to back up his claim, Sen. Schumer believes the Senate Majority Leader is on to something.
“Every day Mitt Romney has to talk about tax returns is a bad day for him and a good day for the Democrats,” Sen. Schumer said during a panel discussion on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “You know, they’re trying to focus this on Harry Reid. There’s an 800-pound elephant in the room. It’s called unreleased taxes.”
“Guess what? The few things we know about Mitt Romney’s taxes — Cayman Islands, Swiss bank accounts — raise more questions than they answer,” the New York senator added.

Now let’s go back for a moment and review what Sen. Schumer had to say about Sen. Coburn’s defense of the Tea Party. As Blaze readers may recall, the Oklahoma senator on Thursday did battle with an entire “Morning Joe” panel over the constitution and the real spirit behind the Tea Party.
“The Tea Party is every person in America who really is fed up with Washington and recognizes the way we got there was abandoning the core principles of our country but also abandoning the Constitution,” Sen. Coburn said.
What did Sen. Schumer have to say to this?
“I like Tom Coburn but, you know, if the Tea Party gains strength, it means two things … number one, the Republican Party will be the minority party for a long period of time,” he said, explaining that the “radicalized far-right” fringe group, if heeded, will lead to the eventual obsolescence of the Republican Party.
“Second, guess who’s the most unhappy man in Washington this week? [Senate Minority Leader] Mitch McConnell. He has got another articulate, smart person whose job it will be, if he follows the Tea Party line, to obstruct the Senate,” he added, referring to the possibility of Texas senate candidate and Tea Party favorite Ted Cruz eventually becoming a state senator.
Sen. Schumer went on to explain why nothing is getting done in the Democrat-controlled Senate: It’s because of obstructionist Tea Partiers!
“It’ll be like the House of Representatives and McConnell will have as many headaches as [Speaker of the House] John Boehner does. This is not good for the country and it’s certainly not good for the Republican Party but also not where American electorate is at,” he added.
Watch Sen. Schumer explain how the Tea Party is responsible for all that is wrong in Washington, D.C. [via MSNBC]:

Oh and Mr. Reid let me be the first to say that each and every day you bring up Mitt Romneys Tax returns is a better day for those of us who are going to boot you out. You hav lied about Mitt Romney and you continually do it. Mitt Romney is under no lawful obligation to show his tax returns, and your blantant lie about Mitt Romneys’ savings accounts in the Caymans and Switzerland that it was a secrety? Again the lie, as this is clearly disclosed on his income tax returms that were made public. Mr. Reid would have the dumb and dumber crowd that he crows to that some how having money in banks no in America is illegal, far from it Mr. Reid. No Obama is going to lose because you are known for what you are and your tactics are clear. Lie all you want but since you have no facts continue to beat that strawman in public and that is the most incredibly funny thing I have ever seen, and old has been politician attempting to take the focus away from an inept administration. TEA PARTY is the VAST POPULATION of AMERICANS, you dopes…. What these dopey Dems don’t get is that many of THEIR OWN PARTY REGISTRANTS consider themselves TEA PARTY people.
It’s like PEOPLE who like BASEBALL/FOOTBALL…we come in all ages, sizes, party affiliations, races,… what we have ‘in common’ is we love Baseball/football…..well then: TEA PARTY people love AMERICA. NOT Socialized, Communized America, but the AMERICA that IS America.
WHAT PART OF THAT can’t these dopes get?? They think it’s all far right wing. No it’s not. It’s every thinking man and woman and children who LOVE AMERICA. DUH Schummer/Reid…you guys need to get some fresh air once in a while…you’re card-carrying NUTS!

Put on our Sons of Liberty outfits
Grab all of liberals in Congress
Put them in boxes that say “Tea from the East India Company” on the outside

Then the symbolism would be complete. I bet we could get boxes from the nearest U-Haul store (less than 3-miles from Boston Harbor).

“Obama – COMPULSORY, collectivist, UNAMERICAN “healthcare.” (Obamacare)
Romney – COMPULSORY, collectivist, UNAMERICAN “healthcare.” (Romneycare)”
You forget two little things. Show me where under Article 1, Section 8 Obamacare was authorized. No? So Dear Leader had to go to the Commerce Clause to implement his not tax. However the Head Wizard decided that the not tax was actually a TAX so was authorized.
But if we go with Obamacare is NOT a tax then the whole thing IS Unconstitutional under Artilce 1 section 8 which means that the 10th Amdendment rules. Anyting not authorized for the federal government to do or prohibited the States from doing is a STATE Right. So, if the STATES want to implement health care they can and The People are free to get rid of it if they so wish. They can actually petition to get things on the ballet. Congress has, in its all seeing wisdom, deemed this verboten at the federal level.
So don’t try and compare the two. Implementing Obamacare as a not tax is not authorized under Article 1, section 8 so is authorized the STATES to do so under the 10th.

Coburn Tangles With MSBNC Panel Over Tea Party & Constitution”. The good senator gives a dress down of those on that Morning Joe panel, explaining just what you said, the Tea Party is US! Sadly, that so many believe otherwise is because of the left’s propaganda machine which some refer to as the Main Street Media. If they can make We The People seem to be the enemy, doesn’t that show how dangerous they are? That evil empire needs to be toppled.

Thus, gathering and providing his returns is more difficult that its is for you or me (I keep mine in an old shoe-box). Setting those factors aside, maybe he just doesn‘t want to release them because he knows that the primary weapon of liberals is class warfare and he doesn’t want to provide democrats with ammunition to attack him because he is rich. They don‘t have them now and they are lying about what’s in them – do you really think they want to examine them for an open and honest debate?
They also want them to further their class warfare. Romney doesn’t have a job, so he pays taxes on investment incoe – 15%. They want to demagoge the issue and clamor for the ridiclous “Buffett Rule”.

That is what you liberals are from Barack H.Obuttstain down to the sniveling little turd level that you occupy.
Twenty-one years, five tours to Iraq and Afghanistan which isn’t including the first Gulf War and three other trips to the region on ship as a active duty Marine. That is what gives me the right to say anything I please about or too you wastes of human cell tissues. Maybe if you libs were born with a set you could be one of the “Few Good Men” the Marines are looking for.
Keep the Illegals, deport the liberals!

Posted on August 3, 2012 at 4:52pmHey wasn’t it GE, Obama’s golden corporation who paid no CORPORATE TAXES IN 2010. WHY YES IT WAS.
I also think if Romney paid NO taxes for the last 10 years, the IRS would have known. He was too known.
Harry Reid is just being his usual ***** self and projection his own failings on a winning Romney. If I didn’t know any better, the Democrats are purposely trying to sabotage the elections.

Posted on August 3, 2012 at 4:51pmChuck U Schumer speaking of Tea Party:“radicalized far-right” fringe group
_____________________________________________________________________
Hey Chuckie, this country is founded on LIMITED government. We Tea partiers support the founding government and you don’t…which was lying under oath to support the Constitution. So in reality limited government is balanced between the people and the government so the Tea partiers are Centrists. Right wingers are Anarchists and you ( the enemy ) are a left leaning Marxist that is destroying this great nation. You are the RADICAL!!!

Posted on August 3, 2012 at 5:15pmHey Rebel – you are right – he should get Life without parole for not passing a budget for 1000 days and counting.
We need to amend the constitution to require the house and senate pass a two year budget within the first 90 days of their term or be arrested by US Marshall’s and sequestered until it is passed. Plus no pay for anyone in the govt till they get er done..

Posted on August 4, 2012 at 9:22pm@REBELROUSER – Yeah, our own Washington State Congressman Norm Dicks was the guy who “brought home the bacon”, but it turned out it was for his own family and himself, and is now “retiring” in disgrace.
I hope the same thing happens to Chuckie. Of course, these guys will NEVER be prosecuted for their crimes; our legal system is as corrupt as they are.

Posted on August 3, 2012 at 4:50pmI’m all for obstruction in DC. It means nothing gets done and that’s a good thing. Well, unless we’re repealing nearly everything CONgress has done for the last, oh, say, 100 years.
And how can you tell Schumer is a moron? He’s talking.

Posted on August 3, 2012 at 4:49pmWhy are Democrats in complete denial. They are the problem in Washington along with a few of the Republicans. The Tea Party is our best hope in getting rid of the riff raff. When will they take responsibility for their failures and quit blaming others. FOR GOD’s SAKE MAN – MAN UP!

We’ve seen what happens when Dems control the House and Senate – lie, cheat, bribe, change the rules, Obamacare.
If the House/Senate never do another thing – GOOD!
