Famous Conjoined Twins Getting Their Own Reality Show

Abigail and Brittany Hensel are conjoined twins who have been in the media spotlight for years.

Abby controls the left side and while Brittany controls the right side. When they were younger, it may have been just that simple — figuring out how to do everyday things in cooperation with each other while not feeling the other side of their body — but as they age differing personalities and desires will be affecting monumental life decisions that have to be made together. Things like getting a job and getting married.

With such a fascination on how issues like this will be handled, the 22-year-olds decided to put it all out in the open with a reality TV show on TLC. The show will cover the dicephatic parapagus twins and how they handle everyday life activities, like driving and riding a bike, as well as the trickier situations.

A friend in the promo clip says she doesn’t know how the girls handle the constant stares they receive everyday. To this, the girls respond saying they are going to “throw it out there and let it go.”

With their condition, the girls technically share a body, but they have their own sets of lungs, hearts and spines. They only have one set of genitals, which you can imagine could pose a challenge later down the road. The Huffington Post reported the girls saying they want to become moms someday but haven’t quite figured out how they will work out that situation yet.

“Abby and Brittany” airs August 28 at 10 p.m. EST.

    And here I thought polygamy was a bad idea. At least with polygamy you could temporarily get away from the ‘other’ women. Could you imagine marrying conjoined twins? One body with two personalities constantly plotting and conspiring against you. The only men who would think that this is a good idea is men who have never been married.

      I have to agree .. could you imagine the mood swings. Try having an argument with them .. who do you address ? And sex .. good googily moogily … why are you kissing her and not me ? Kinda cool in a freaky way .. but no thanks. One woman is WAY to much to handle .. let alone two … or 1 1/2 … or .. yea .. no.

    Ok, if they have one set of “genitals” who feels the orgasm? Both? How will a marriage work out? And, in the eyes of the law, are they considered one person, or two? This would impact a marriage, as polygamy is unlawful. Just curious. I wish the girl’s the best.

Just a little bit of normally functioning brain with IQ at least slightly above sea level would be enough to understand that a creature with one body that accommodates two heads, two pairs of lungs, two hearts, one genital organ,to say nothing of unknown condition of liver, kidneys, spleen, stomach, pancreas, gall, intestines, and thousands of other details, cannot have great life.
      Glory to them! Praise be the girls for their staunchness, firmness, courage, moral fortitude.
      But only a heartless, insensible individual can assume that the girls have great life.

      After I inhaled the dust of 9/11, I am 24-7 on oxygen suffering the last stage of emphysema.
      But I feel that my suffering is nothing in comparison with what they experience.
      So, keep “envying my abilities”

      I also wish these young girls a long and happy life, they must have gone through so much growing up. They deserve our kindness.
      On the other hand, if I were in their situation, and had to look at my brothers ugly face first thing in the morning, believe me, I would go hacksaw shopping ASAP!

    Funny, out of all the post here not one about god; not one “god bless them” , not one “they are gods children” nothing. Makes you wonder why, maybe all the bible banger’s that have a quote for this and a quote for that, you know the ones that post here on the blaze every day have nothing to say about this?

    Anyway, good for these girls and I hope they make money off this show and have great life.

      Hats off to them for their courage, for their spirit power, for their bright mindset. But they do realize that they’ve got a miserable life absolutely undeservedly, wrongly, unfairly.
      And you say they are God’s children?
      If you are right, then God is a monster to create such children.
      Just imagine one of them having a lung or heart or stomach problem…

      GOD has blessed them, they will have a place in his kingdom. Our God is full of mercy and grace and those with special needs, those that were born with birth defects will not suffer a judgement that is critical of them. Let us all be thankful that he judges us from the mercy seat.

      A person is only a child of God if they choose to be His, otherwise, even though He is the light of life that lights every man that comes into the world, they are just the same as regular individuals that make good or bad choices.
      The reason why they turned out with that defect is not because of God. It goes all the way back after the fall of man and why God used the flood to kill off mankind. Only Noah was pure in his generations. One of Noah‘s son’s wife must have carried the defective genetics from the sons of God and the daughters of man that has continued to plague mankind.

      He definitely was “with faith” and “turned to it”.

    WHY? TV stations are to cheap or lazy to create quality programming, instead we get a never ending cavalcade of contrived “Reality TV”. The shame is I’m having a hard time telling the difference between supposed news and Reality TV. It’s brain sucking garbage.

      The writers of Hollyweird have burned out their creativity with drugs and partying. It’s no wonder the crap that comes out of Hollyweird. They have to defer to comics writers to come up with original material, ie. The Avengers, Iron Man, etc, or have to ruin old shows by doing crappy re-makes of those shows. Pixar and DreamWorks are also creative and making money.

      Oh come on now, there is some wonderful new programing coming out. Like the one where folks are using bows and arrows along with swords after an EMP. Now that really looks fascinating, especially since I’ll use my rifles and pistols to protect my stuff. Then theres the one where a soldier returns home from the service and finds out that the evil local tea party has taken over his town and is raping and killing people. Kind of like a brain dead persons version of “Walking Tall” (vastly preferred the first time that came out over the second one). Now I could be wrong but I think all this wonderful, new, programming is on Dear Leaders favorite channel, Pravda, oh I meant to say ABC!
      No wonder their viewing numbers are up so much. They had a 100% gain, from 1 person, to 2.
      This is almost as stupid as the BBC survival epic series where a group of people take over an empty warehouse, without weapons or food, but every week they develop wonderful new technologies, such as, but not limited to, an electric car. This one was so patently stupid that it was fascinating to watch the gyrations the writers went through to justify their pay.

      Quality programming doesn’t sell advertising. This is akin to the “freak show” in days gone by and is a proven towork. People’s curiosity, be it morbid or otherwise, will compel them to watch it.
