Janet Napolitano Run Homeland Security Routinely Humiliated Male Staffers, James Hays Jr. Alleges in Suit

The Department of Homeland Security is being slapped with a scathing federal discrimination suit, which accuses DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano of turning the agency into a woman-run “frat house” where male employees were regularly humiliated and even exiled to the bathrooms, the New York Daily News reports.

The suit was filed by James Hayes Jr., who is now the top Homeland Security official in the New York division. He argues Napolitano gave two of her female friends top positions in Washington, D.C. who then went on to torment male employees.

The women are identified as Dora Schriro, now head of the Department of Corrections in Washington, D.C., and Suzanne Barr, chief of staff for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The New York Daily News has more details:

Soon after Schriro and Barr were hired in January 2009, male staffers were treated like lapdogs, Hayes claims.

Barr “moved the entire contents of the offices of three employees, including name plates, computers and telephones, to the men’s bathroom at ICE headquarters,” the suit says.

Barr also stole a male staffer’s BlackBerry and fired off a message to his female supervisor indicating that he “had a crush on [her] and fantasized about her,” Hayes claims.

Sometimes, Barr took a more direct approach. In one case, she called a male colleague in his hotel room and screamed at him using sexually humiliating language, the suit says.

Hayes claims that after he reported the abuse to the Equal Employment Opportunity office, Napolitano launched a series of misconduct investigations against him.

Addtionally, Hayes argues he was deprived of a deserved promotion and was marginalized while working in ICE’s Washington office. Meanwhile, Schriro was named the special advisor to Napolitano on Detention and Removal Operations and began to replace Hayes at meetings despite having no “experience in managing a federal law enforcement department,” according to the lawsuit.

Napolitano and Schriro have a “long standing relationship,” the suit says.

Brian Hale, director of public affairs at ICE, says the suit, filed in May and first reported on the blog, debbieschlussel.com, is comprised of “unfounded claims” and believes the court system will determine Hayes’ allegations are “inappropriate.”

The lawsuit further elucidates several stories reported on this site about discrimination against straight male Homeland Security officials in favor gay officials, including Napolitano’s girlfriend, Dora Schriro. As I noted, Schriro had zero experience in law enforcement, and yet, she was appointed ICE Policy Director and set the current Obama immigration enforcement policy of not enforcing immigration laws. (Schriro, who made a mess of Arizona’s prisons and empowered violent prisoners against prison guards, is now making a mess of New York’s prisons, a cushy job Napolitano got her so she could be close to a sick relative in New York.)

A spokesperson with the Department of Correction denies that her relationship with Napolitano played a role in her hiring.

“Commissioner Schriro’s selection and service at DHS was based on the merits. Any suggestion to the contrary is false,” spokesman Robin Campbell said.

    Is anyone really surprised by this ? L e s b o s hate straight men ,I‘ve had the misfortune of being around them on more than one job and of the dozens that I’ve had interactions with ,they all seem to have a seething hatred of men, maybe it’s p e n i s envy. They are also very good about pulling each other up the ladder ,so wherever you have a den of them they will quickly multiply.

      Yes .. .my son had a “female” teacher (also gym teacher and coach) who treated the boys in the class horribly .. after one year of this cr*p I told the school I didn’t want him in anymore of her classes (health and government type classes that she taught) .. I was told they couldn’t do that and put him in HER class the next year … I pulled him out of the public school and sent him to a private (Christian) school. They couldn’t believe I actually did this!

      This is typical conduct from Lesbians and homosexuals, because they literally loathe most straight people, especially if they hear them talking about their wives or husbands.

      This entire administration shows us quite clearly what this country would be like if the flakes, oddballs and misfits were in constant control.

      Racism, Heterophobia, deceit, manipulations, lies, anti-Christian hatred, and mayhem would be the order of the day, and eventually the country would look like Detroit, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Zimbabwe or South Africa.

      They must be stopped at all costs even if it means all out war.

      Anyone who thinks Janet Napolitano is actually a woman is nuts. However, I hope the men win a big money payout in the lawsuit. I’m a woman, but I’m sick to death of them acting like, well, men. They *itched about it for a 100 years and now when they get a little power they act just like what they were *itching about.

      This sounds familiar, but my experience was in the private sector at a famous corporation. Where I worked, men were rarely hired and rarely received promotions. There was typically 8 men and about 120 women at any given time. Isn’t this obvious discrimination, but no one says anything? The boss was straight as far as I know. It had nothing to do with sexual preference, but I thought, if it had only 8 women and 120 men, someone would certainly be suing this company. Men didn’t last very long there. I was there for about 8 years before our section was sold to Asia at about the time of the housing bubble’s collapse. Most men didn’t last 2 years before someone would accuse them of sexual harassment and they were fired irregardless of proof. Men were allowed up to 3 months off for medical reasons; women could take a year off.
      The company broke laws all the time. Once, they had us put “Made in USA” labels over “Made in Mexico” printed on thousands of prepackaged boxes.
      I know I’m off topic, but I‘m just pointing out that reverse discrimination and disregard for law isn’t only in the public sector. If you’re a massive political donor and have connections, you too can get away with anything.

      Moved office furniture to the bathroom? Is there a picture. Then you have to prove who did it. I figure that the women did not do it themselves. you have to depose the custodial staff & get sworn statements.

      If harassment by phone is expected than, I say do not answer a hotel phone. You cannot record it. The perpetrator knew this so she called the hotel phone instead of his.

      This looks bad. They are giving us no quarter. Record them. Sue them. Marginalize them. Reciprocity is key. They give us no quarter; give them no quarter.

      There is no corroboration of allegations against Barry. No RINO would ever look at all or very hard. Larry you made the original allegation is a very shady character. It isn’t worth pursuing unless we have more people willing to give sworn statements. The thing that got me thinking that we should look more into it is the number of literally flamboyant gay men in Rev Wright’s church that ended up dead before 2008 (3 of them). Possibly it is just a coincidence given Chicago’s murder rate.

I kinda went back to elementary school girls didnt talk to us because she would get pissed at them and we didnt talk to the females because we couldnt ever know who was a snitch or not.       BTW, this type of preferential treatment also occurs in police departments that are led by “alternate lifestyle” female chiefs. Most often it involves bringing in cohorts from outside, to fill upper level command staff. It is often blatant and since the positions are not guild or union represented there is seldom recourse for anyone passed over by these appointments.

      It’s on tape, recorded at the ceremony & he was caught off mic, live,
      saying those exact words loud & clear.
      This is not about justice for America, this is ALL about justice for Obama.
      The tag line for whole administration & agenda
      is, “Just let them TRY to stop us”.
      He’s a despicable creature of NO concern but his OWN.

      I agree with you about the Obama admin. but i wanted to correct you on one point though… there is no such thing as reverse racism/discrimination. To say that implies that only whites can be racist. Its time to stop using all of this made up PC crap designed by the left and call things what they are. The definition of racism is hating another because of his/her race thats it. So if we are screwed over by anyone else based on our race then it’s racism/discrimination.       I have seen and been aware of this kind corruption since I was ten years old, maybe before, I would even include this kind of garbage in my make-believe stories and games. I’ll be writing a novel that displays the absolute tyranny that occurs behind closed doors – it’s sickening.

      Some of these people need to be shot, as they have had people murdered for their whims. (I know of two and one attempted 3+ times)
