‘Real Journalists Are Apologists for Corrupt-ocracy’: Michelle Malkin Takes on Juan Williams in Tense Live TV Segment

Things got a little more heated than usual on tonight’s Hannity in a debate between noted conservative blogger Michelle Malkin and liberal Fox News contributor Juan Williams over the nature of the recent White House leaks.

Williams had tried to argue that there was nothing particularly special about the leaks regarding national security currently emanating from the White House, claiming that every administration had done the same thing. Malkin fired back by raising the point that the liberal press had excoriated former President Bush over the leaks regarding CIA agent Valerie Plame, which were seen as an attack on the country’s intelligence community and, by extension, on national security.

Williams’ response was to pull rank on Malkin. “I’m a real reporter, I’m not a blogger out on the blogosphere,” Williams said dismissively, before launching into a lecture about how reporters talk to officials, something he apparently didn’t believe Malkin had any experience with.

Malkin was visibly offended at Williams’ ad hominem response, but did not call attention to it until Sean Hannity allowed her the last word. At that point, Malkin opened fire.

“The American people are sick of the kind of snotty condescension from liberal elite journalists like Juan Williams who tell us that the rest of us are not doing our jobs, when the point is that when Eric Holder was shamefully approved and nominated and approved to be Attorney General, he had already had a long record of bastardizing national security and the rule of law,” Malkin said. “People like Joseph Connor, whose father was murdered by an FALN terrorist said at the time, and I quote, before this nomination, warning Republicans, that Eric Holder did not have the judgment, values or character to hold that office. We have been proven right, even though we are non-professional journalists.”

Williams must have sensed he was bleeding this point, and interrupted, accusing Malkin of going off-topic before launching into an extended repeat of his original arguments, virtually unaltered. It was at this point that Hannity interrupted to tell Williams that he was going to have to accept that “Holder is finished” before closing the segment. Williams tried to protest, at which point Malkin got in her killing blow.

“So real journalists are apologists for corrupt-ocracy, we got it,” Malkin said drippingly.

Malkin then thanked Williams in a voice that would have chilled liquid nitrogen. Williams, meanwhile, put his hands to his face.

    Saw this. On Fox a few days ago, in reference to the results of the Wisconsin recall election results, Juan Williams was defending the labor unions saying they‘ve been around since the 20’s, and America wouldn’t be what it is without them. But then on other days he’ll argue that America is flawed because of our history with Blacks. So which is it?

      You are 100% right about Juan Williams being a not so good reporter. I will still take a not so good reporter over a couple of opinion gossipers like Hannity and Malkin. Though are three of them are bright individuals, one of them deserves a little more credit for “news” than the others.

      I love Michelle Malkin, she and several others are in my daily prayers for being Patriots, speaking up for America. I am disgusted with Juan Williams! He and people like Bob Beckel, Kirsten Powers, etc. either have so much pressure put on them to lie or they haven’t got the sense God gave a mule!

      HERE IT IS PLAIN AND SIMPLE: 2006 Dems took over Congress; Barney Frank/Chris Dodd pressured banks to make Sub-prime loans; 2007 Dems were vote-buying with our tax money/Unions had ruined the auto industry in USA. 2008 Soros pulled the WS flooding act he had done in other countries to wreck our Stock Market (in Sept 2008 we were still fine but Obama was losing -Soros acts/ WS almost crashes – Obama gets in). Obama gives 2 B to Soros the second he moves into WH. And on and on and on.
      THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH CAPITALISM. there is EVERYTHING wrong with GOV. BAIL-OUTS and INTERFERENCE. Had the housing bust been left alone, we’d have our equity in our homes coming back.       You certainly have the wrong side of history,. When unions were first started the working conditions were apalling for many, many people.
      The caveat here is we have moved well passed the conditions that existed. Private unions still hold some place, but public sector unions are leeches on society, plain and simple. take teachers unions
      I have watched them cross picket lines and laugh about it, but try to cross theirs.Or get rid of a piece of crap!
      Private sector fight for conditions and wages and also have to compete with non union, best one wins.
      Public we all loose cause we all pay for being held hostage! No graduation?

      Here’s something to consider, why can’t America not be the country that it is without unions, but also have a poor record on race relations? One doesn’t negate the other. If you know anything about labor history, it wasn‘t welcoming to Blacks until it’s recent history. However, it was union workers in the manufacturing trades that built the Middle Class and most of the economy after WWII. Oh, and it was seeing the rise of the Middle Class that gave Black people the idea for Civil Rights.

      Good read & post. Rush L mentioned on his radio program a joke from Don Rickles that has been “scrubbed”. That reminded me of the classic-skit of Richard Pryor as the 1st black president and what happened towards the end of the skit. Richard Pryor had “colorful” language but he had such a big heart and just darn-right truthful and funny. He had a tough start in life and he did have a self-destroying personality, but what a human being. I like Juan Williams and he has “mellowed” alittle but lately I have been seeing & hearing alittle “stress” in his physical manner and his deliverance of his liberal speeches & answers to questions. Juan is acting more like a “skin-tag”. He hangs on “the-host” (Fox News) but seems he has a fear of being snipped by the left. Just saying. Bob B, I still like him and he is “the-snappying-turtle” for the liberals and Kirsten, I really like & always have..don’t really agree with her all the time but she is just a neat lady.

      My belief is that unions did have their usefulness a while back. When companies were abusing employees they did some real good. But we now have laws that have taken care of almost 100% of that abuse.

      Unions today are nothing more than blood suckers. They suck money from their membership to pay outrageous salaries to their leaders and buy political favor from DC, state and local politicians.

      Of all the unions the public sectors ones are the worst because we the taxpayers have to pay for what our ELECTED officials hand to them

      As a black man (who happens to be an Independent), Juan Williams is a profound embarrassment. He is completely incapable of engaging in a coherent, concise and cogent debate with someone of the intellectual stature and character of Michelle Malkin. In a word, he’s out of his league (to say the least). When he claimed to be a “reporter,” my mouth fell wide open!

      While I disagree with him, about almost everything, once she opened fire on him I actually felt sorry for him…It was ugly! But, he got exactly what he deserved! He wrote a check (with his mouth) that his intellect could not cash! He’d be very wise to distance himself (as far as he can) from any further debate with Michelle Malkin. She makes him look bad whenever they debate.

      What made matters worse, in the very next segment the brilliant economist and investor Charles Payne (another black man), made his appearance. What a stark contrast between Williams and Payne!

      I can, easily, listen to intellectually honest and lucid commentary from persons such as Malkin and Payne.

      However, I actually cringe (with utter disgust and disappointment) whenever people like Juan Williams and Jemu Greene attempt to engage conservatives with their dismissive and demeaning attempts at public discourse-using the same tired, liberal talking points that purposely and substantively fail to address virtually any issue that undermines the health, sanctity and survival of our culture. Independents are waking up…

      I saw this yesterday on Hannity, and could not believe the words coming out of Juan’s mouth. I always thought he was a very reasonable democrat that actually used his brain, not just his mouth. But lately, I think he sounds like all of the other paulparroting (sp) dems that refuse to take responsibility for what they have done. He really turns me off now, and everytime I hear him open his mouth, out comes lies, distortions, and half truths, and the inablility to face the truth is now blatent. Too bad, I used to think he was a true thinker, not an aper.

      Juan William’s voice is beyond irratating. I find it impossible to even listen to him because of his presentation style. Mrs Malkin is way out of his league.       I used to work for a company in the private sector that was unionized. I saw the way the union took someone just wanting to work hard for a company and transformed them into a slug that worked just hard enough to not get fired. I worked the company for 16 years before I had enough. The backside of the equation was that I was one of the hard-headed ones that kept up my pace despite the union telling me to “slow down by doing the methods”. I got harassed constantly by the slug rank & file because I actually took pride in my work as opposed to just working for a paycheck. The company, seeing I was an ass-buster, took advantage of me just the same. It was a total F-myself paradox.

      The unions (from my experience) turned the work environment into an “us versus them” situation and totally changed my attitude about loyalty to a company.

      The unions may have started with good intentions, but they gained too much control for the good of the nation (in my opinion).

      I think it is rather hard to say that she went of topic, when Juan Williams directly attacked her credibility as a journalist as a part of his argument. You can’t suddenly rewrite the argument for your sake then forbid others from doing it.

      At least she was polite enough to wait her turn to make her case. I did not see the same tolerance shown towards her.

      Your response is the very reason liberals are destined to self emplode, one because she wasn’t off topic, had you not drank the liberal sauce you’d realize she was on topic by referencing an event in which the reporting was better served not by any one official credited to do so but by a common citizen with enough skill to report the information not covered by some inept journalist.

      Her point, which was very on topic, demostrated that great and factual reporting doesn’t require some degree but does require passion and some objective integrity. Something liberals lack consideribly and more so by liberal “journalist”. Michelle Malkin is an intelligent women whom not only shows bravado when facing liberal hypocrites but has the ability to reach many people nationwide. Considering the huge bias represented by the MSM with a liberal majority and the abysmal viewer rating that is falling daily, proves “real journalist” like Juan Williams, aren’t in touch with “real” Americans who have grown disgusted with liberal journalism only reporting one-sided heavingly fabricated liberal narratives.

      Liberal media has become a liberal propaganda spin machine that refuses to be objective and more discriminatory in what they claim is fair.       Juan doesn’t believe his own BS. He‘s hosted The O’Reilly Factor and has been almost reasonable in that format. Juan is paid to be a resident idiot. Michelle is always on point and resolved. I love her. My wife of 25 years is from the Philippines and I never have to wonder where she stands either!!     Michelle Malkin is one of the brightest women I have seen and heard. She is informed, smart and will tell it like it is. If you do not want to hear it, you better not ask her.     Watching Hannity is a waste of time.

    He gangs up with his conservative guest against the liberal and they all yell at each other.
    You can never hear what they are saying.

    Michelle Malkin had some good points, but she never got them out.

    Hannity would be better served by being a moderator and keeping them on topic. Then when they are finished, making his comments.

    I just hope Fox pays Juan very well to be insulted, interrupted, and ganged up on like that.

      None of those people ever get a complete though out. Even on “The Five” the cut each other off. Bob Beckle has yet to finish a sentence on there, not that it is a fact, but he believes it is. The rest are into stopping conversation of one another so much, it is had to watch it. They should allow so much time for an answer and go to another. They need some way to keep those quiet while the others are talking. It is almost embarrassing. Same on O’Rielly, he never lets anyone finish a sentence. They all need to have some kind of timing and cut off on answers. I am getting disgusted at times trying to listen to all of them. Bob and Juan are mixed up people and Juan should not have said that to Michelle because Fox rescued him from obscurity and he is showing his big head and insecurities when he treats others the way he was treated. He does need to get his ducks in a row. He is not going to fly on the I am black and can get away with this or that. Fox will fire his azz just as quick as anyone else. He and Bob Beckle do need a place to talk and it shows how the leftis are thinking (or not thinking, more likely) and they are sort of repulsive to me, but they need a place to talk too. Fox gives it to them and they should be treated with respect, but they need to respect others too. I think Bob Beckle is pretty cool if he was not on the left.     I watched this earlier on O’Reilly, and I was laughing so hard that I missed some of it. It was good to at least watch this part again. Juan can be a real jerk from time to time, but it’s good that we see what the left actually is even when on Fox. I do like to watch The Five when I get the chance, but really get ticked off when Juan fills in for Beckle. Never thought that I would say something like this, but I really do prefer Beckle over Williams.

      I love some of the conservative folks and enjoy listening and seeing them on tv. I have lately given up watching some shows because of the talking over each other and voices going up and up and up. It becomes vocal babbel, and impossible to track. More like a bunch of yelling teenagers. That said, Michelle Malkin is one of my favorite commentators, she is like Glenn, she does her homework. She made a true statement and was spot on, if Juan was run over he surely had it coming.

    What security clearance has Juan ever held? I’m sure he is an expert on National Security and the impact of these kinds of leaks on our national interests and the risks to the lives of the people at the point of the spear.

    The liberal elitists will not say anything bad on the administration; due to having cast their lot in with the absolute corruption within. In the matter of Obama, and the White House leaks, the firmest evidence of the matter is this – the investigators appointed by Holder answer to him and Obama, plus one is a donator to Obama.

    In such manner, Obama and Holder can ensure this investigation will go exactly nowhere or will indict some low level peon offered up as a scape goat. The desperation of Obama and his admin will only grow from here on out, as will the measures, by coersion and force, they will undertake to stay in power.
