‘Real News From The Blaze’: Are Newt Gingrich and the Media ‘Frenemies’?

Are Newt Gingrich and the mainstream media engaged in a love-hate relationship? Is Gingrich banking on his sophisticated debate skills, rather than on having a clear campaign platform, to secure him the nomination? That was the focus of the following segment from Monday night’s episode of Real News From the Blaze.
Watch the panel, along with guest Kerry Picket of the Washington Times, discuss the dynamics between Gingrich and the media he so often attacks. For her part, Picket believes Gingrich is merely filling a vacuum created by Mitt Romney.
Blaze host S.E. Cupp explains why she thinks it is difficult if not impossible to view Gingrich as a sympathetic character, while cohost Buck Sexton mocks the notion that Gingrich running as an anti-establishment candidate is akin to Charlie Sheen running for a position as head of a drug enforcement agency.
Watch the crew’s lively, engaging, and at times humorous exchange below:
In another segment, The Blaze’s Will Cain leads a thought-provoking panel discussion on Right to Work laws and what such legislation means to the union-employer relationship. Watch below:

Posted on January 24, 2012 at 3:06amBlaze Team I understand we disagree. To hear the words “Mitt Romney is a great candidate” puts a chill through my bones. You know who else was a great candidate? Barack Obama. He was a great candidate because he said whatever it took to win the race. He was a great candidate because the liberal news media pulled their punches which were weak to begin with. Take a look at those you stand with in supporting Mitt Romney and tell me sincerely that you feel comfortable with that group. To think that every one of you has fallen for the left’s head fake is so disappointing.
They start attacking Romney early to make us all think he’s the one they are scared of. Another moderate? that’s what worries them? After the 2008 election you have learned nothing. You follow the same path again and again expecting that things will be better or saying that he’s the best choice we have. South Carolina got it right. Iowa got it right but just barely. We don’t need Mitt Romney. He is a slimy fake. Put him up against Obama and he will fold like a card house.
It’s the same thing that happened to McCain. The media attacked him a few times and Obama’s team started floating the Bush nickname. He was the heir apparent and then as soon as he was chosen the full weight of the media fell upon him and he crumbled. Sarah did her best to pull him out of the fire, but it was too late. Please voters I beg of you don’t make this mistake again.

Ron Paul and a Constitutionally honest congress and and senate with the help of God and His Son Jesus are our only hope… will all of this have to take place before you have that ah ha moment.?.but by then it will be too late…I was on the band wagon for the progressives into Communism too..but I held Ron Paul on the back burner for an emergency..after I educated myself on the state of our country and after vetting these candidates…I realized..this is an emergency…EMERGENCY!!!

Or with a better mind? Or more fearless?
He’s the best candidate I can think of. Despite the personal life. Look at the evangelical vote from South Carolina — even they don’t care much about it. As Rush said today, “I don’t care if he had ten wives. I don’t care if he married a horse.”

Posted on January 24, 2012 at 12:46amOnce again, referring The Blaze, if you are going to put up rookies to commentate over a Republican Presidential candidate, they better do a better job on researching the candidates past, and not ascribe their findings, or in this case comments, for they did nominal research at best, to some ultra liberal whack job by the name of Bonior from Michigan, who trumped up the overwhelming majority of ethics charges against Newt, and I am not necessarily a Newt supporter, but I am not against him either.
Glenn better sit down and have a pow wow with his selection of “panelists” before he turns them loose from the reservation, and I would certainly hope Glenn has more going for him than just giving them free reign, particularly when they did not have the facts and made half-a$$ed statements while joking about some of their absurdities.

Seems you are not only a bigot but a moron. Do you have any idea what would be required as far as manpower and capital, in order to round up and deport 22 million people ? IF he came out and said that, you would smear him for breaking up family’s, if he says just give them Amnesty, which actually might be what he would decide to do after the border was secure, but can’t say it beforehand because all of Mexico would try to cross the border, but he would get bashed by the right. I think it is a great idea that Santorum tends to believe is happening right now. So maybe get a new name bigot, because I read your other comments, so I know you are bigot. Probably a racist too , huh ?? Don’t need nor want your kind in the party .
Report Post »Voice_ofFreedom
Posted on January 24, 2012 at 2:54am@Hobbs. Santorum was speaking simply about how bad it has gotten in this country when he spoke of self deportation happening now. He was making a point about the sorry state of things not saying that this is an actual solution the way Romney posed it. First of all he made no mention of how to get everyone to sign up for their “card”. Are we going to round everyone up and not just the illegals to go get our “card”s? Are we going to be pulling random people over asking for their “card”? Will random raids be conducted on every place of business to find illegals? Will this just be another step towards full government control of business?
That’s a lot of questions I know, but the fact remains that it’s not going to be nearly as easy as you and Romney make it sound. He’s proposing a special ID in order to work. Which may be a solution if it is done properly, but he also failed to mention if this special ID would be necessary for government assistance. Furthermore, he fails to mention the fact of what paperwork and information is required now to do such things as, get a job, obtain a driver’s license, or buy a home. There are illegal immigrants currently who manage to do these things without a proper birth certificate or a valid SS number. Kind of makes you wonder if creating another ID and another bureaucracy to administer and monitor them is really the kind of solution we should be pursuing.

It is one of a very few differences of opinion I have had with him and I cannot follow his logic. It is as if he is blinded by something that he does not even recognize as a bias. It is getting so repetitive and weak that I find myself changing the channel when he goes on his anti-Paul or Newt tirades. His reasoning for his disdaine for Paul is based on an incorrect understanding of his, Paul’s , foreign policy. A misunderstanding that a child could reason as flawed. Wake up Glenn, you’re slipping.

Glenn has plainly said why he is “anti Newt” for President. Some may not agree with him or like what he says or his reasons–but he’s been REALLY clear about it!
If you still don’t understand, I suggest listening again – or maybe reading some of the articles on The Blaze which has explained his position. Maybe Glenn could try to write a piece on just this topic: “___ Reasons I am “Anti-Newt.” MAYBE that would help. But maybe not, too. Maybe some still wouldn’t understand his position.
