The tracking names for google are “googleadservices” and “google analytics”. You can disable them by installing an add-on in your browser called no-script. Learn it, use it. It might help combat their tracking abilities, not to mention all the crap that loads on a webpage.

Did anyone think for one moment that that their personal data on computers or smart phones is private? Eschlon has been monitoring phone calls and even conversations within your home for years. I agree, it may just be time to go off the grid. When you’re “searching” for a specific product, don’t you start seeing those items on the side of your home page? It also pops up on any new’s programs that you blog on, like Fox. Scary!

I have resisted tweeting and facebook because of my growing concern over privacy. When I last googled my name, I could see my private address/phone, my photos, where I work/address, what I do, who I voted for and how much money I donated (along with my neighbors), and an old resume. It’s scary.

Don‘t you find it interesting that our own gov’t is so into their own power, that they need to spy on us to see if we are conforming to their ideology or not? To make sure that Obama’s little groupies are watching over us to see where we visit on line or what we say on line? Just like them building his private little army to go against the patriots of America. This is what happens in countries like Iran and China. Welcome to the beginning of our end, if we don’t make crucial changes in the next election. Our elected reps quit working for us decades ago. Obama has just furthered their and his ajenda. I guess next to come will be the concentration camps and “rehab” facilities for brainwashing. Come on America, isn’t it time WE STOOD UP FOR AMERICA AND OUR OWN CITIZENS AGAINST THE TYRANNY THAT OBAMANATION IS BRINGING UPON US AND OUR CHILDREN? What kind of future will they have if we don’t stop this now? Don’t we owe them the same liberty, freedoms and rights that we’ve enjoyed up to now? Unless we stand, no one will. This is the only country we have, and we are acting like there’s nothing we can do about this. We have one tool and one tool only, and that is our vote. And God gave us free will. So, armed with our free will, and a vote, we should be able to fire this dictator and his minions and start rebuilding America again. Otherwise all we are really doing is complaining. And that gets us NO WHERE.

Agreed! But by the time the rest become unplugged it will be to late for them. The key for us now isn’t getting any one particular in there, it’s surviving! The debates alone have shown their intentions on undermining us. There is no FREE press they are all bought and paid. Romney can’t beat Obama. Newts in LALA LAND. Pelosi and others congress doing inside trading,.some thing any one of us including Martha Stewart would be jailed for. Fed workers owe over 3 billion in taxes. OBAMA Thinks were sheep. It’s A lose lose situation. And unfortunate for us it is to late to many people still believing the ********.

Google is a private enterprise that finances massive infrastructure that you get to use with little or no cost. If you want to live off the grid, that’s fine, and good luck with it. I don’t. If you think you have privacy in today’s world WITHOUT Google services, fine. Enjoy the delusion while you can. You can opt out of these privacy policies by extinguishing Google products from your life. Feel free. Don‘t worry that Google knows where you are and who you’re talking to; worry that FBI agents can write their own search warrants while they stand on your porch; that you can be put into prison for divulging that such a warrant was served upon you; that American soldiers can now be directed to arrest you in your home and waft you off to Gitmo; that habeas corpus is in America’s dustbin; that you have no longer have a right to legal counsel in this circumstance; that every podunk village and township in America has a SWAT team and an armored car; that when the government has all these hammers, everything (and everyone) starts to look like a nail. Want to go back to passing notes like we did in school? Not me. This wheel has turned. It can’t be rolled back.

Odd to stick it in our face when their whole business model depends on a ‘click’….so we just use another search engine, i.e. or firefox instead of chrome, yahoo or bing instead of google.. Lot’s of GNU s/w out there that works just as well.

Well, this should be great. Why did they cut out the last question asked? If we get down to it, this will be how we pry into the personal lives of future candidates. It’s just scary.

    NOMINATION INQUIRY:

CONGRESSMAN 1: I see that in 2013 you made a purchase of a dozen roses? Is this true?

    NOMINEE: Maybe. I don’t remember.

CON 1: What do you mean you don’t remember? It’s all right here. Did you buy the flowers or not?

    NOM: I guess so.

CON 2: Who were they for?

NOM: That’s none of your business.

    CON2: Everything is our business.

Where does this end? A private company has the right to do this, but when this company is so deeply connected to our government and our gov. is the one benefitting from our info, then yes, it becomes way too scary.

An easy way is to not use google AT ALL. Use other browsers that are just as good. I use Startpage.com as my browser and I use my provider’s email, not GMail. I also have no friends who use GMail. I also don’t use Facebook, LinkedIn, or any other social media as it only perpetuates this constant eavesdropping on anything you do. Reduce your footprint in the electronic auditorium and you will have less about which to be concerned.

Ummmm, first off, startpage.com is NOT browser, it is a website. Secondly, this is posted on the startpage.com home page: ” the world’s most private search engine “, followed by ” enhanced by

So, to summarize, you are using Google anyway!!!!

“When you search with Startpage, we remove all identifying information from your query and submit it anonymously to Google ourselves. We get the results and return them to you in total privacy.

Your IP address is never recorded, your visit is not logged, and no tracking cookies are placed on your browser. When it comes to protecting your privacy, Startpage runs the tightest ship on the Internet. Our outstanding privacy policy and thoughtful engineering give you great search results in total anonymity. The sky is falling!!” If they get PWND then they do and will get used. There’s plenty to do to make this “information” not pointed to you — and, yes PLENTY of ways to make it point to you if you want it to! Like a business. The rest of this panel are admitting they are lazy enough to do nothing and wait for some savior. Ridiculous. Not new NEWS anyway, just a new flavor of what has already been apparent. Not news, just talking heads on a different venue. Blaze! Please.

This all only applies if you are logged in right? Thats the impression I got when I read one of their notices.

Google is everywhere if you have a web business like some of us it becomes a necessary evil. There are things they offer that are invaluable at no cost!

Until someone comes up with a for example a video site that matches all the functionality of Youtube your kinda stuck. There are tons of video sites but the things you can do on YT you cannot do on those other sites. If you‘ve been to my site you know what I’m talking about.

Don’t do anything on YT or Google you dont want others to know about OR.. invest in stealth software!!! There are plenty of ways to mask you surfing and many are free that actually work! I know this as fact ( I have had to use them on occasion:) ) some browsers even have ways to surf maintaining your privacy.

GMail: switch it out or only use it for a specific purpose. I have one for my job search (which I have pretty much given up on at this point) I have started using Yahoo for some things.

There are plenty of search engines available if you are spooked by Google and all its properties. You just have to be smart on what you do. Most importantly is dont put your whole life out there either. Surf smart!

A lot of the Internet companies are out to grab information. Google is just the king of them. I use Google sometimes but I also use other search engines. I clean Google, Yahoo, etc cookies out of my browser often and use Firefox addons such as NoScript in an attempt to hobble what sites can do. I have a cheap, dumb cell phone that is too old to have a GPS in it. It is also almost always off since I am not a “phone person”.
