The European Union began the application of oil embargo sanctions against Iran Sunday as a part of diplomatic efforts of the West to halt Tehran’s nuclear program. The Middle-Eastern nation responded with the announcement that they will begin war games involving firing missiles at models of foreign air bases. With increased tensions, Iranian military officials have threatened to “wipe [Israel] off the face of the Earth” if they are attacked.
On “Real News” Monday the panel discussed whether these sanctions can be effective, as Iran claims Europe only accounts for 18 percent of oil exports for the country. If the sanctions fail to reverse the regime’s course of action or support, could the embargo backfire by turning what is largely a pro-west civilian population against us? Stephan Yates of D.C. International Advisory joined The Blaze to break down the sanctions’ potential for regime change, how the Iranian people may react, and what we could compare the Iranian “war games” to:

Posted on July 4, 2012 at 11:44amIran is allowed under the terms of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treat to develop nuclear fuels for the purposes of medical isotopes, power plants, etc. Under Article 4 of the NNPT, the U.S. is in violation of that treaty by not assisting Iran in that development. What better what to monitor Iran than to assist in such development and abiding by the treaty? Israel, on the other hand, has nuclear weapons (they attempted to sell them to South Africa years ago which proved they had such weapons)…an estimated 400 to 800 such weapons. They refuse to join in and sign the NNPT. WHY?
Report Post »To wage yet another war (we’re already involved in 10 wars on two continentns) is egregious and warmongering on our part! Obviously, we are NOT responding to any invasions of our nation…we are simply explanding our empire and risking nuclear war with Russia and/or China in the process.
Romney, Obama, et al are serving two masters and placing the US as subservient master to israel and their radical, apartheid, racist, theistic government.
Bring ALL of our troops home from the over 900+ military bases abroad in over 110 nations and garrison them on BOTH of our national borders. Peace would break-out worldwide…but that would really upset the Wall Street Banksters and money-junkies that profit on both sides of any war. They want war…they need war…and it will be a cover when the Euro collapses bringing the Dollar down with it. Reflex patriotism, illegal, unconstitutional, murderous

Y’mean the political entity that cannot help urinating on itself is going to stand up to anyone? Really? Do tell. Since when have they done anything without being assured that we (with our military and economic might) are going to cover their sorry, inadequate, Euro “Alpha’s”? Exactly my point!!!

Posted on July 3, 2012 at 7:38amThe only thing an oil embargo will do is push the Iran regime closer to war or nuclear program.
Iran’s economy is in shambles and the people are restless. Their economy has been wrecked by embargos and sanctions. The people know it is because of the international community. You think they are going to play nice?
When an animal is backed into a corner, they become extremely UNPREDICTABLE and the last thing you want to do is provoke it.

Posted on July 3, 2012 at 6:27amWell this is probably not going to end well.
Report Post »1. Only an idiot doesn’t believe that Iran has nukes. They purchased some from Russia and our ally Pakistan several years ago, along with their home made stuff.
2. This is the seventh year of the reign of the Prince of Persia. In order to fulfil the prophecy the war must start this year, probably by August 6.
3. We are preceived, and rightly so, as weak, especially our dictator.
4. There’s nothing like a war to whip up public support and as a reason to suspend the elections “for the duration”.
This is really like I’m watching a slow motion shipwreck! It’s bound to happen and there is nothing you can do to stop it.
Be prepared for whats coming.

Posted on July 3, 2012 at 10:56amYou got that right, a slow shipwreck because the ship has lost its rudder (GOD) and we’re drifting onto the rocks of WWIII. It was predicted nearly 2000 years ago by a man named John of the Church of Ephesus while imprisoned by the Romans on the Isle of Patmos. He had a dream and wrote it in a scroll (book) and it was translated and included by the 16th Century Catholic Church. We call it the Book of Revelation!
It refers to the Satanic individual that will start war and then claim peace in the middle since he has devastated the Nation of Israel and he will temporarily attempt to take over the Temple in Jerusalem and then the Apocalyptic Horseman named WAR will come and plunge the Middle East into the largest military battle since WWII in a valley in the north of Israel between Jaffa and Galilee called Megiddo, in english that battle is refered to the Battle of Armageddon. It will not end the world even with all the nukes that will go off at the time but it will be so devastating that the floor of the valley will be soaked in human and animal blood so deep that the earth can’t handle the rate of soak and it will run off into the streams and Mediterranean so as to discolor and make survival harsher than normal.

Posted on July 3, 2012 at 1:30amThis nonsense has been going on for decades, the Iranians are fanatics, they will stop at nothing to get a nuke and weld control against the other OPEC members in the region, use it as a threat against Europe to get all sanctions and controls lifted and perhaps once they have multiple nukes, use one or more against Israel and claim they had intelligence showing that Israel planned a full scale attack against them, Syria and Palestine, it’ll all be used as an excuse, all unfounded, but whats done will be done, then Iran will prepare its other nukes to launch at Europe and possibly even Saudi Arabia as a threat to the US and anyone else that any move of aggression will be met with them launching. They will then force other OPEC states to cut their production, while Iran increases theirs, generates more profit to buy more missile launch systems from China, and Russia.
What the US needs to do is stage a string of “accidents” at Iran’s facilities, have the Bashir reactor SCRAM and go into a meltdown, cause a massive explosion at a nuke assembly plant causing their nuke to detonate. these “accidents’ will look like Iranian bumbling mistakes and mishandling, and their country will end up being irradiated and toxic, they won’t be able to ever sell another drop of oil and their nuclear program will become their blight… its a crummy way to handle things, but its that or several 10 megaton warheads leveling everything completely.

No.
Hillary (it takes a jihad) Clinton has already said the purpose of the oil embargo is to bring Iran to the table for talks. Talks never work with these people and they use talks for delaying tactics only.
Two words;
12th Imam or should I just say The Madhi?
Report Post »Mutiny
Posted on July 3, 2012 at 2:53amThe problem with the 12 Imam thing is Iran really has no real way to pull it off. They have weak army. Numbers do not mean anything anymore. They have weak technology. They dont have a nuke. If they did you know we would have already attacked or they would have used it. They dont have a deployment system. The technology to fire a missile with a nuclear warhead is very advanced. The North Koreans who are much farther along in missile tech just completely failed. Iran’s current scud missile cannot even hit Israel with a non nuclear warhead.
Now you will say well it doesnt have to be a missile. Very true, but why would a terrorist go to Iran for a bomb. They would have to know its under watch from both the US and Israeli intel groups. It would be silly to risk the operation using Iran.
As far as the standard military Israel has enough firepower(not even including nuclear) to take out the entire middle east solo. They use our equipment. Their pilots train here. Guys with Ak-47s have a hard time shooting down f-16s and f-15s. As you can tell in our past few wars we only lose troops when we put them on the ground.
So yes I understand what the idea behind the 12th Imam is, its just not possible any time in the near future.

Update. One the Russian have sold them air defense artillery & missiles.
Two massed fire of any calibre has a good chance of bring down air craft once the go low to avoid missiles. Air defense in Vietnam had 3 levels. the lowest level was the smallest calibre.
I bet if we looked at Janes Defense Weekly or Aviation Week & searched archives we can see what they have bought or developed since 1979.

NO!
War is what the Soviet Union did…….
Peace and liberty is what America’s Founding Fathers wished for more than anything:
————————————-
“Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. In war, too, the discretionary power of the Executive is extended; its influence in dealing out offices, honors, and emoluments is multiplied; and all the means of seducing the minds, are added to those of subduing the force, of the people. The same malignant aspect in republicanism may be traced in the inequality of fortunes, and the opportunities of fraud, growing out of a state of war, and in the degeneracy of manners and of morals engendered by both. No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.”

Posted on July 3, 2012 at 2:38amI have no problems with war if we are under a real threat. The problem is the wars we are fighting right now are for one purpose. They are being used to bankrupt us. Once the dollar is off oil(bankruptcy would cause this) the IMF can put in the SDR global currency. Once in place a globe government is put into place for stability.
Now lets look at our last couple of wars and see who has actually been a threat to our nation and people like the Barbary pirates.
Iran
Syria
Iraq
Pakistan
Afghanistan
Libya
Yemen
Korea
Somalia
Yugoslavia
None of these nations actually attacked us or were of any real threat to us.
