‘Real News From The Blaze’: Can ObamaCare Self-Destruct?

Republicans in the House dedicated the political focus Tuesday to ObamaCare, spending 5 hours of debate on the president’s signature health care reform law before a repeal vote scheduled for Wednesday. CNN notes that the vote will be the latest of more than 30 House GOP efforts to undermine or repeal the 2010 Affordable Care Act. Efforts that will all fall on deaf ears in a Democratic-led Senate.

With little chance of derailing the law on Capitol Hill as the political make-up stands now despite vocal outcry from House Republicans, and the Supreme Court now standing behind the law, some analysts have begun to question whether self-inflicted wounds at the hands of poor writing and toothlessness in enforcement can be what erodes the health care reform law.

Specifically, the individual mandate is devoid of an effective enforcement mechanism. The law severely limits the ability of the IRS to collect civil or criminal penalties for refusing to pay the tax and the IRS cannot seize bank accounts or dock wages to collect it. No interest accumulates for unpaid penalties. Adding insult to injury, a growing number of Republican Governors have begun opting out of the medicaid expansion, the most recent being Texas Governor Rick Perry who announced on Monday that his state would not participate.

    Here is one example of why Obamacare won’t work. If there are doctors not taking medicare and medicaid and now this… not taking Blue Cross Blue Shield! How will someone with Obamacare find a doctor that will take it?     What needs to self-destruct is Obama, but since he most likely will not. He must be voted out.

      My guess is the election is not going to be close at all. When we all cast our votes and the majority of United States citizens show what we really think of obama, he packs up and quietly goes back to Chicago. It never has been about being black – why? Because he is also white but that fact is never or rarely mentioned so race is Not a factor but they sure try to say whatever it takes to fool those they need to have a one-up but fortunately my black friends are on to this and actually have a good laugh at how ridiculous it is. God bless our country and thank you Lord for giving us good sense this time around.

    This is wishful thinking. They’ll just pass new laws and regulations to plug the holes in the existing legislation. Repeal is the only answer.

    The thing is, even if it does self-destruct, the damage it will inflict from now until then shall be immense for the country. This blatant taxation needs to be gutted and uprooted in the entirity.
