    It was a good news show, much better than the 5 with all their talking over each other and talking about the same news over and over. Thumbs up!

      Can’t help but make the comparison to “the 5.”
      Thought this sounds like what “the 5” SHOULD’VE been !
      I like that there are differing opinions without all the anger that Bob Beckel puts out.
      I can even handle Juan Williams, but Beckel? Man, the dude needs to chill before he has a cardiac event on live television! LOL

      Way to go, GBTV ! !

      (one small note: a little less of the rotational camera, please. I like the effect, but, it felt like it was overused.)

      Make no mistake about it….I love GBTV. However, in regards to the news last night I thought it was terrible. I do not want to hear anyone arguing their point on why Che is so popular in culture these days. Just show the facts about Che and let the audience decide whether he was a jackass or not. People are starving for the truth (NOT ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSIONS). Simply lay out the truth (both good and bad) and let the American people decide. I don’t give a crap about some young adults opinion of who he was and why people wear shirts with Che on the front. If you need an example of how to do it go back and watch Glenn’s report on Che and Mao when he worked at FOX. He just stated the facts and nothing more. That is all I want!!!!!! Jimminy Crickets People !!!!

      GBTV is suppose to be about “TRUTH”. But on BSofA we have “LIES” being promoted under the guise of jokes. It is fine to make jokes directed towards conservatives, but those jokes should be based in fact that are true, otherwise it is just another smear campaign.

      Now we have a showed entitled “REAL NEWS” and yet is have very little news in the show. This is the problem I have with the New York Times; they are nothing but a left-wing organization pretending to be a news organization. I would be fine with the New York Times if they told the truth about their agenda, but they hide under the guise of “News”…

      If GBTV is going to promote an hour long opinion / discussion show then the title for the show should reflect what the show is about. At least “The Five” doesn’t lie about what they are doing. Concerning the “Real News” Glenn needs to either change the show to reflect the title or change the show to report real news.

      If your news was really important, it would be free. You will never compete with abc, nbc, cbs unless you are available to the free market. I love glenn beck and I am a subscriber to gbtv. But I refuse to pay extra for “real” news. I also refuse to pay for liberty tree house when oeta is free. If you really want to make a difference, bring your message to the masses. KEEP THE NEWS FREE. FREEDOM OF THE PRESS. PRESENT THE NEWS FOR FREE.

    I agree with a lot of these comments. The Real News show didn’t have enough news. Opinion is great, but there are too many voices trying to be heard. Individually, I like each of the participants, but collectively, it didn’t work smoothly. It’s the first show. I’m sure it will be fine tuned, as has been the case with GBTV from the start.

      Based on its name, I was expecting “the nightly news” (national news), which I still think would be a GREAT IDEA for GBTV !

      Lots more people can/will cut the cable when enough content is available.
      Nightly news (national news) is one of those basic things that everybody will consume from one source or another. Make it available online without the msm/lsm bias, and there will be angst at the cable company, imho.

      Like Alcoa used to say, “we can’t wait for tomorrow!”

    As it was the debut broadcast, it was easily 100 times better than I expected it to be and obviously a lot of time, effort and yes practice/rehearsals have gone into this ongoing process for GBTV to launch new shows and let them refine themselves from that point. Honestly, right out of the gate “Real News” made all such formats on the networks, including The Jive on fox which I can’t stand, look like idiot hour. Glenn has found some extraordinary folks who are risking much to make this journey with him.

I did nothing against the law. Just an opinion. The capitol police contacted whoever they do I forget, then the chief of police in this little town in Oklahoma (this town doesn’t even have a Stop light in it) told him to go have a chat with me. I was informed that I got their attention. He tried to tell them right off that I am harmless, since when is it a crime to have an opinion in USA? Well folks it is the end. I have 8GB of ram and a quad core. Is that enough? I am the only one on my home network. I have tried different pcs on different networks and isps and get the same problem. My DSL gets about 10MB down, which is ok, but it is well beyond the GBTV requirements. Each time I open a ticket with GBTV support, they tell me to clear my cache and ask if my computer is powered on. Then they tell me my network requirements, which mine always surpass. So when I respond to their response, they respond as if it is a brand new ticket. Come on. I will live with it if I have to, because I can get it to work for a couple of minutes at a time.

    Hated it. It was all opinion (and really ill-informed opinion at that). I am severely let down by the direction this took. Glenn promised that he would never waste my time. This “The Five” rework was terrible and wasted my time entirely. So, what I learned from the “experts” on last night’s debut:
    1. The economy isn’t facing any long-term issues
    2. The evil 1% are hoarding money, and as soon as they start spending, we’ll be fine
    3. (a la Bush 9/11) We need to go out and spend our way out of this on the consumer level

    Perhaps the folks at Currenttv put on masks and this was all just a big joke – with the overuse of the dizzying whirly camera, I guess that could have happened.

    Glenn said that one company puts out a faulty news story, and that other companies then just add on to that story without looking at the faulty premise. He said that “Real News” would expose that faulty premise and show the TRUTH and the REAL NEWS behind the story. None of this happened. What I saw was nothing more than opinion (and really bad opinion at that). I liked all these folks before watching the show, now I really am turned off by them.

    I guess I had high hopes of finding TRUTH and NEWS instead of ill-formed opinion. I am sad – Glenn promised one thing and theblaze delivered something entirely different. I was looking forward to this debut – we NEED a good news source. Unfortunately, we STILL need a good news source.

      @Dangandg -

      You DID watch the debut, right? The three items I listed are the opinions of the “experts” from “The Five” – er, I mean “Real News from The Blaze” – not mine. I might as well have gone and listened to the ramblings of the Occupy movement – they say the same things.

      Of course, when one of the “experts” says (with excitement, paraphrased) – “I actually spoke with a guy who has worked on wall street for 50 years, and he says…” Okay if you have so little experience/knowledge that all you can do is regurgitate what someone else told you – then I’d rather hear the guy who TOLD you that information. Youth doesn’t HAVE to equal ignorance, but it felt that way during last night’s debut.

      @TrollTrainer – Thanks. I do applaud all involved for the idea of the “Real News” – I just feel strongly that I was mislead about what “Real News” was going to be. We were told one thing, and received something entirely different. I’m still hopeful for the future of the program, but there are FUNDAMENTAL flaws with it (in my opinion), and it needs a foundational repair.

      @BlondeFrenzy -

      Thanks. You know – listening to Glenn today – he is either lying, or he fell off the bandwagon and started drinking again. I understand not wanting to throw your employees under the bus, but gushing over what a home-run they hit (while they are agreeing with the occupy movement’s view of the economy) simply cannot be genuine. The truth has no agenda, and maybe a lesson the youngsters (which -nearly- I’m one of) might have to learn is that sometimes the truth hurts.

      I want this show to succeed, because we really do need a good news show, but if this is the type of commentary we get when they are “on their own” – I’m not going to stick around long for the ride on this one. It needs fixed – and quickly. Hopefully the changes are coming.

      As I view more and more of these “reworked” shows (the “New” Liberty Treehouse and the “New” BSofA) I‘m really worried that Glenn isn’t being discerning enough when picking folks to head these programs, or perhaps he has surrounded himself with too many “yes” folks.

      All of these programs have fine points to them, but as a person backs away and sees the larger overview – these programs still miss the mark.
