Speaker of the House John Boehner is done playing small ball on debt.
During a speech at the Peter G. Peterson Foundation fiscal summit on Tuesday, Boehner said that the president lacked courage to deal with the looming fiscal crisis, pledging to bring the debt ceiling fight to the foreground before the election – citing that it was time to deal with the fiscal cliff now, before we go over it. That mantra clashed with the Administration during a bi-partisan showdown at the White House yesterday that the president had planned on for gathering support for his economic “to-do list.” The Hill reports:
Boehner asked Obama if he was proposing that Congress increase the debt limit without corresponding spending cuts, according to a readout of the meeting from the Speaker’s office. The president replied, “Yes.” At that point, Boehner told Obama, “As long as I’m around here, I’m not going to allow a debt-ceiling increase without doing something serious about the debt.”
Is Boehner right to want to deal with an integral facet of the looming Taxmegeddon, or is the Speaker playing politics for the sake of playing politics at a time of global economic uncertainty?
The Speaker’s action was the fist topic of discussion on “Real News” Tuesday, where not everyone on the panel was in agreement on whether dealing with the debt now is a responsible course of action. Watch a clip:

Posted on May 17, 2012 at 11:05pmSpending is our biggest problem. What is the GOP answer? Mitt Romney with a budget that doesnt cut current spending. Basically Romney endorsed Obama’s ridiculous spend.

Posted on May 18, 2012 at 9:04amuhhh, obama hasnt even presented a budget to the Senate and Mitt Romney isnt even in office yet. So who is willing to blow more money here, someone who has a stance on what should be done, or someone that cant quit looking at himself in the mirror long enough to even get a budget?

Posted on May 17, 2012 at 10:44pmBoehner is as useless as teats on a boar hog; for some reason he is absolutely incapable of explaining a position with clarity and conviction. The reason? He has been in office for too long and needs to join several other DC clowns and get booted out of office, he sold his soul to the DC devil.
Nancy Pelosi has more balls in her purse than Boehner ever had.

Report Post »Since there is no chance they will do anything like this all I have to say is; Have a happy landing when we fall off the cliff!
This will not end well. With luck thirty to forty percent of us will survive the coming fall. Not me, I’m insulin dependent.
