‘Real News From The Blaze’ Discusses if Sanctions on Iran Are Working

Mitt Romney‘s trip overseas and comments in Israel have sparked up debate and criticism regarding the Republican presidential candidate’s aggressive language as it concerns to steps to block Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons, and Romney’s grasp on longstanding conflicts in the Middle East. Romney’s comments about the Iranian nuclear program and ongoing conflict over the Israeli land infuriated Palestinians, and drew criticism from China’s state-run Xinhua news agency.

But are Romney’s strong comments on dissolving the Iranian nuclear program and supporting Israel’s right to defend itself indeed inappropriate?

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has even said that while the sanctions on Iran are having an economic impact, questions are growing on whether they will work to stop the Iranian nuclear program as the regime uses various methods to circumvent measures to slow them down.

Joined by Benjamin Domenech of the Heartland Institute and Patrick Clawson of the Washington Institute, the ‘Real News‘ panel discussed how the Iranians are undermining sanctions, what’s working, what’s not working, and what can be done to reinforce measures aimed at halting nuclear development.

If you want to sanction them don’t buy their oil and take away their buyers buy drilling our own oil and shale and selling it for cheaper since we have more of it than any other country in the world.

Sanctions will not work. They are acts of war which have little effect. China and Russia have both said they could care less about our sanctions.

Romney and Obama are clones on this situation. Nuclear weapons are very hard to build and extremely expensive. The missile tech needed for nuclear tipped weapons is much more advanced. Iran is years and years away from being a actual threat to anyone from a nuclear standpoint. Lets also not forget Israel has 300 + nukes. Anyone one launching on Israel will have to deal with total destruction.

Comrades historically sanctions have worked well. We have had sanctions on Cuba since 1960 and we still can’t purchase a Cuban cigar in this coutry, although you can in Canada, and then you can smuggle it over the borders. What fun!
Of course except for the cigars, Fidel was still in power until he installed his brother, and they are still in the Soviet sphere. Of course Fidel was able to empty his prisons and send them to us.
So lets get serious, if you truly believe that sanctions can work, then you are correct! In late 1940 FDR refused to sell scrap metal or oil to Japan. That worked so well that they attacked us in Dec. 1941!
Ergo, the only sanctions that will work, will start a war. Has Dear Leader surrendered yet?
