‘Real News From The Blaze’ Discusses U.S. Military Expunging ‘Anti-Islam’ References From Training Manuals

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has ordered the entire U.S. military to scour its training material to ensure it does not contain “anti-Islam content,” Wired Magazine reported Tuesday. General Martin Dempsey, the highest-ranking military officer in the U.S. armed forces, reportedly delivered the order after content was revealed in a course titled “Perspectives on Islam and Islamic Radicalism” that was presented as an elective at the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia. Wired reports that the course instructed captains, commanders, lieutenant colonels and colonels that “Islam had already declared war on the West,” according Lt. Gen. George Flynn.
Lt. Gen. Flynn told the magazine Tuesday that instructions were “inflammatory.”
“We said, ‘Wait a second, that’s really not what we’re talking about.’ That is not how we view this problem or the challenges we have in the world today.”
But is that the reality of the situation?
GBTV’s “Rumors of War III” that aired Wednesday night, reported extensively on the growing threats and activity of radial Islamist groups in America, from building relationships with Mexican drug cartels to mouthpieces of the Muslim Brotherhood infiltrating in the western media.
On “Real News” Wednesday, The Blaze’s National Security Editor Buck Sexton agreed that from some of the excerpts he has seen, its seems that the materials would be beyond the pale and unacceptable. That said, Sexton commented that it’s worth examining who makes the calls on whether the material is inappropriate.
“The moment you bring in organizations like the Council on American Islamic Relations…these groups that have literally had ties to terrorism in the past, to help you try to sift through these complicated political issues, I think you are inviting a lot more criticism,” Sexton said. “And criticism that is well founded.”

What military officials are trying to do is to ensure that military manuals aren’t bashing an entire religion, or promoting one religion over any other. Are there some evil Muslims out there? Absolutely. But the ones we are fighting comprise such a small percentage of the world Muslim population that it is just plain ignorant to call all Muslims “evil” or “anti-American.”
Christians are responsible for dozens of abortion clinic bombings, but I can guarantee you people would throw a fit if police manuals proclaimed Christianity as a whole to be dangerous or violent. Some of you really need to cut it out with this “war on Christianity” crap. You’re not always going to get your way, especially when it comes to matters within government and military. Deal with it.

We had orders from the commander in chief that other than the corps of chaplains nobody could mention religion in manuals. Military personnel were not allowed to have a bible on their desks. Dependent spouses that formed day care gatherings in on post housing were not allowed to be involved in religious studies when gathered. Have put most of that out of my mind since I retired, but Clinton had his little war on religion too.
