Real News From The Blaze Fast and Furious Scandal Discussion on Smoking Gun Joined By Katie Pavlich

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa is once again poking the White House as a remindier that they are still at the center of his radar amidst the congressional investigation of the ATF gunwalking scandal Operation Fast and Furious. Rep. Issa sent a letter to the White House Monday night demanding answers as to why the president invoked executive privilege over documents requested from the Justice Department for the investigation.

In the letter Rep. Issa accuses that President Obama withheld documents for one of two reasons:

  • “Either you or your most senior advisors were involved in managing Operation Fast & Furious and the fallout from it, including the false February 4, 2011 letter provided by the Attorney General to the committee,
  • “Or you are asserting a presidential power that you know to be unjustified solely for the purpose of further obstructing a congressional investigation.”

Rep. Issa has demanded to see all communications between the White House and the DOJ from Feb 4, 2011 to June 18, 2012, the day before he says the Attorney General requested that President Obama assert executive privilege.

With this going on, The Daily Caller reported Monday that there may be one “smoking-gun” internal Department of Justice email that could document the scandal if it turns out to contain what congressional investigators say it does. The DC reports that the document would allegedly establish that wiretap application documents show senior DOJ officials knew about and approved the gunwalking tactic in the operation.

On Thursday, the full House is expected to vote whether to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over internal documents related to the Justice Department’s response to the Fast and Furious investigation.

What sort of damning scenario could potentially be out there if the administration is intentionally holding back investigators from a smoking gun? The “Real News” panel discussed this Tuesday, as well as broke down what Rep.Issa is hoping to achieve with this letter. Katie Pavlich, who has already written a bestselling book on Fast and Furious, phoned in to discuss Rep. Issa’s action and how far up the scandal could go. Pavlich also broke down how Operation Fast and Furious differs from Operation Wide Receiver. Watch:

    I want to thank the FBI, CIA, Secret Service, our Generals for standing by and watching the destruction of the United States of America by Obama, Holder and the socialist and communist. I thought you took an Oath to protect the USA, I gu8ess your intelligence level is below understanding along with being chicken sh–.

    How did they catch Al Capone? Be a man, Issa, and do your job. Just look at the hearings for yourself, and you will see that “Holder is holding out”!

      Issa cannot do it alone. They need to arrest Holder and put him in jail. That DOJ is not going to do anything. Congress is going to have to find a way to get Obama and Holder out of there. They are criminals.

    Thank you for your courage and perseverance in disclosing the corruption surrounding Operation Fast and Furious and its subsequent cover-up. In the event that Attorney General Eric Holder refuses to produce the requested docuuments, please take expeditious action to obtain them. Given the unrelenting and escalating abuse of power by this White House and Department of Justice, please take the necessary steps to defend our nation from tyranny and ensure that the executive branch recognizes and adheres to the powers vested in Congress by the Constitution of the United States.

      I applaud Issa on this, but where is the media on what’s really going on here. There is a great video that came out today that tells us exactly who knew what and when they knew it. Even Fox News is not showing this. You can see the administration in their own words telling us that Obama and Holder both lead this operation at a an unveiling as far back as March 24, 2009!       Actually, someone on FNC did question those statements a while back — I think it was Hannity. However, both Holder and Napolitano contend that those statements were made in re Project Gunrunner, and that DOES seem to be the case. The only thing the video proves is that Holder and Obama had authorized appropriate and effective measures to stop the Mexican cartels under Project Gunrunner.

    I like this guy he is at least asking tough questions . O bummer seems to be the Teflon president he has $hit all over this great nation and wiped his a$$ with our constitution while demeaning every one who disagrees with him. What will it take for the rest of our nation to wake up. Brian Terry and his family deserve the truth. O bummer knows he died for a BS agenda to get rid of guns.       Issa wouldn‘t be making such a bold attack on the the White House if he didn’t already know the content of the e-mail the investigators have just reported on and knows he now can to make such a public statement because he now holds all the cards.

      If so expect things to unfold rapidly against Obama. This particular little antichrist has been in office exactly 3.5 years. Sound familiar? The month of June is now closing rapidly.

    I have read somewhere that Obama is so much of a narcissis that he wouldnt even resign in disgrace like Nixon did.This man will see no fault in his actions only others not even related to the crime.Hence marshal law will be emposed just before his guilt is exposed.
