‘Real News From The Blaze:’ Green On Blue Attacks Contribute to Uptick of Violence in Afghanistan

July was the deadliest month in 2012 for U.S. troops in Afghanistan in 2012. Part of this uptick in violence can be attributed to so-called “green on blue” attacks: uniformed Afghans trained by the U.S. who then attack Americans.

On Friday, a uniformed Afghan killed three American servicemen in Afghanistan, pushing the green on blue death toll to seven this month. It appears that green on blue attacks have become part of a deliberate strategy on the part of the Afghan opposition, as Taliban leader Mullah Omar announced Thursday that the Taliban has infiltrated the Afghan Security forces.

This troubling development poses the question that as the U.S. attempts to exit, how can the men and women in uniform trust the very people they‘re training to take command of Afghanistan’s nation’s defense? Are we simply training the next generation of Taliban loyal security forces?

Peter Hegseth of the Minnesota National Guard and Concerned Veterans For America  has trained security forces in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and joined “Real News From The Blaze” Friday to try and answer these questions:

Honestly, I’ve written a few posts on this story and never did send them. I have not been able to convey my thoughts into words. So here goes…

The Middle East is NOT Africa. By now, most of us have realized that Africa, as a whole, is a huge cesspool of need and want. Millions of people who have basically held fast to tribal & warlord feudal standards. Mogadishu was my 1st wake-up call. For over 100years. NOT an exaggeration-the World HAS been sending aid/food/$/teachers to Africa for over a hundred years…and they STILL hack each other to death with machetes?!?

The Middle East is an entirely different World. Need & Want are NOT what drives them. Islam drives them. As a Christian, I realize that this is not a War of Nations-it really IS a Religious War. They SELL their OWN CHILDREN to be suicide bombers. We can not “win” this.
Bring our soldiers home. I do not want our men/women to face people who claim to be our friend and then {at the friggin award ceremony when he gets the gun} turn upon us and kill us. It IS about oil. We need to drill baby drill/frack away/light up my life solar it/heck-we should build power stations at every river!!!!!
The Middle East is about to implode and WE should NOT be there when it happens!

In the 1984 movie entitled ‘Red Dawn’, Soviet troops invaded the heartland of America and put it under occupation. It didn’t take long before Americans formed resistance groups to battle the Soviets in order to force their withdrawal.

Why would you somehow expect a different reaction out of the folks in Afghanistan?

Just goes to show ya… Islam is the religion of fanatics. Not all people want, need, or are capable of handling God given freedom. We need to send in Barack to apply his community organizer philosophy and bring these people into communism so that Islamic fanaticism is diluted and centralized government that BHO is so fond of can actually have a practical application.

Nine years ago I was given a copy of a translated terrorist training manual that was an exhibit in a criminal trial in the 1990′s.

To paraphrase the first instruction for terrorist wannabes:

Don’t come to us for initial training. Join your country’s millitary service and have them train you. After you are a trained fighter, then we might be interested in you, don’t contact us before then.

We should not be surprised by any turncoats among the people who sign up for training by NATO or US forces in Iraq or Afganistan. That is exactly what is expected of terrorist wannabes–having the enemy get them in battle ready shape and train them in the use of weapons and anti-insurgency tactics – - then they know their enemy, the enemy’s weapons and tactics.

Withdraw all, and nerve gas the entire place. The Middle East is a Black Hole for Western blood and treasure.

This all happened because American leaders failed to learn from history. Russia invaded Afghanistan in the 1980s and the left without achieving their goal. We will end the same way. It is even worse now due to we have the stupid Political Correct rules to operate under while the enemy has no moral code or values. We need to pull our troops out. If they want to live in the stone age, let them. We are not the world police. Our troops are now dying for no reason and that is thanks to Obama broadcasting a withdrawal date. If we had told the Japanese or Germans that we would be sending our troops home on X date in WWII, they never would have stopped fighting.

This situation is the very definition of untenable. Our boys go out on patrol now and have to keep a closer eye on their Afghan “colleagues” than anyone else – the very guys who are supposed to have their back. The Afghans are biding their time, waiting for these Americans, the latest in a long line of occupiers who think they can rebuild Afghanistan in their image, to finally leave. As soon as we leave, it goes back to the way it has been there for centuries. We are no longer serving any useful purpose there. It is time to bring our kids home. Untenable.

It’s time to get the h**l out of Afghanistan. Don‘t know why we’ve stayed this long. We’re not going to change this culture. They will have to do that from within. I’m tired of hearing that another of our beloved children/spouses/parents have lost their lives to this band of savages. Bring them HOME!

So Green on Blue attacks means Mario vs Luigi has finally spilled over to the middle east. So sad, we are in real trouble if the Mario side gets a hold of mushrooms and hammers. at this point, hopefully the Donky Kong faction doesn’t fully develop Barrel technology, or it will be curtains for us.
