‘Real News From The Blaze’: Holder in Hot Water – Committee to Vote on Contempt

For only the fourth time in 30 years, Congress has launched a contempt action against a member of the Executive branch. The Los Angeles Times reports that the House Oversight And Government Reform Committee will vote on whether United States Attorney General Eric Holder is in contempt of Congress,on Wednesday June 20. Once the committee approves the contempt citation, it will likely move to the full House for a vote. The motion comes as House Republicans led by Oversight Committee Chairman Darryl Issa have pushed against the Justice Department and Holder for failing to turn over documents subpoenaed on October 12, 2011 regarding the Fast and Furious investigation.
The Justice Department claims they have cooperated with Congress throughout the investigation, having already turned over thousands of documents and having Holder testify to Congress on the topic already eight times. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney strongly defended the Attorney General’s cooperation while speaking with reporters Monday. Roll Call reports that Carney said Holder has taken the allegations “very seriously,” before adding that the Justice Department has handed over more than 7,600 pages of documents to the committee and has already appeared before Congress to discuss the scandal many times.
Rep. Issa still claims that the Justice Department has refused to turn over tens of thousands of pages of documents, including materials created after Feb. 4, 2011, when the Justice Department wrote a letter to Congress saying no gunwalking had occurred, which the department later retracted.
“Real News”opened Monday with guest Jordan Sekulow of the ACLJ to debate whether this situation is contempt, and how it compares to the only other instances when a member of the Executive Branch encountered this situation. Watch a clip from the segment below:

Congress is nothing but a cabal of cowards these days, with precious few exceptions. If these politicians want to impress upon me and other like minded people, they are serious about draining the swamp in DC, they should move straight to impeachment hearings and criminal charges. The integrity of the Constitution demands consequences for all those who would see it destroyed.

Eric Holder is not taking care of the citizens of this nation and is putting illegals over our citizens. This man needs to be taken out of his position and not allowed to interefere with Justice. He needs jail time for the acts against Americans and others he has committed. His job is to protect the American citizens and not put Florida in a position to have their votes stolen. This should be taken care of now before the vote happens. Americans are the ones who should be considered first. Our rights are not being protected. This is supposed to be justice for all. Everyone can get an ID if they want to. Mark down the ones who show ID and check the rest of those who do not for voter fraud and if they indicate they do not have an ID, then make sure they get one.

Posted on June 12, 2012 at 5:31amDuring last week’s hearing….Dems on the panel had ‘prepared questions’ for Holder…questions about ‘good’ things he has done that he could answer immediately and rattle off all the numbers involved. One Black Congressman had a very hard time readiing his question….wonder who wrote it for him ? Yet, when questioned about F&F Holder stalls and talks “around’ the answers. What was so sad…..was watching elected members of Congress ‘take up for him’ and shout Issa down. Members of Congress are not elected to ‘protect’ an “appointed” Atty. Gen. They should be worried about the country, but they were sooooo obviously playing the race game. Black members shouting down Issa and not letting him ask Holder his questions. It was disgraceful. This was a great example of Black Democrats standing against justice…..party and favortism is the only thing important to them.

He will not resign, he will ride out his job as long as Obama is in power and fade into the sunset with a book and a well paying job after that. He and his boss will get away with this, Congress knew but waited far to long to make their move.
