After opening the show Monday on the pick itself and what Rep. Paul Ryan brings to the 2012 Republican presidential ticket for conservatives, the “Real News” panel next discussed how Democrats are reacting and whether some should “be careful what you wish for.”
Monday’s POLITICO/GWU Battleground Poll (surveyed prior to the Ryan announcement) shows the race in a virtual dead heat, giving a blank slate to see how America will react to the Romney pick and the left’s immediate attacks in response this weekend.
Democrats have made clear that they will attack on Ryan’s budget–specifically its attempt to reform medicare–and the socially conservative positions now across the GOP ticket. Leaders in the Democratic Party and Progressive movement have shown the propensity to go over-the-top in their criticisms of the young conservative star, standing behind ads from liberal groups featuring a Ryan caricature pushing granny off a cliff, calling his medicare plan a “death trap for seniors,” and labeling Ryan as “bad for women” and “extremely anti-choice.”
Watch the “Real News” panel Monday discuss how the Ryan choice will reshape the issues focused on this presidential campaign, how the left will attack Romney’s running mate, and whether this is a road that either side really wants to go down:

You all are much to smart for me.
Why don’t you guys just keep your opinions to yourselves and offer some constructive thoughts?
Oh yeah – I know why – because you don’t HAVE any.

Posted on August 13, 2012 at 10:21pmWhat will be funny is to see how many times they use the word “extreme”. The only thing extreme about Ryan‘s plan is that it doesn’t fix it until 2050.
It all really doesn’t matter anyway. The 2013 recession is going to be a doozy. No way that a budget survives 30+ years. And there will be riots in the streets before anything truly gets cut.
This doesn’t get fixed by the stroke of a pen. This doesn’t get fixed by an election. There is a storm coming folks. Economic armagedon is real close. We MUST remember who we are. I know many of you wish I’d shut up about the constitution…but when this all comes down, that will be the only thing saving grace. If we don’t keep it front and center then we will be swooned by the politician of the day for any “solution” that will make it all go away.

Posted on August 13, 2012 at 10:27pmDid you watch the CBS interview? Romney and Ryan had a powwow regarding this 6 months ago; Ryan stated his plan, and Romney responded that they need to start fixing things within 100 days. Looks good – they’re talking and planning together, unlike Obammy and Slo-Joe. But realistically, we have no other recourse but to trust in these two, because we KNOW that a re-election would be devastating.

Posted on August 13, 2012 at 10:30pmWhat’s your “Survival Plan”, DUNGEON MASTER? Do you own eight or ten weapons, a couple thousand rounds of ammunition, a pantry full of canned goods and water and a few ounces of gold? Or is it an “Immunity From Armageddon Spell”? Either way, if you’re right, you’re screwed and you deserve it.

Wow. You need to go back on your meds. Did you have some sort of stroke or something?
Be sure to wipe your feet on the constitution when you leave.

Now granted it is a Fox News article therefore I doubt anything stated in it has credibility according to your position on the issue. I on the other hand believe it has merit. So exactly who and what is your remedy to our current state of affairs in this current Kangaroo Court of an administration???

Posted on August 14, 2012 at 6:58amAnd Roth, I have to add that if Ryan thought the GM bailout vote that you want addressed was going to evolve into the abusive debacle that it has I am certain he and others would have not supported it.

Posted on August 13, 2012 at 10:17pmAt least Romney/Ryan have plans and solutions. It does absolutely no good for the left to keep attacking and name calling. What is Obama’s plan? Where is their budget? Where are the jobs? We need solutions to America’s problems, not more talking points and lying. Romney/Ryan also believe in America and they believe in business; Obama has made very clear that he does not. Unless we elect a majority of Republicans in the House, Senate and White House, nothing will get done for the next 4 years-except to make things worse. Romney/Ryan 2012!!

Posted on August 13, 2012 at 10:25pmI understand what you are saying. BUT, recent history shows that the GOP has squandered that chance. The 108th and 109th congress were all GOP run with GWB in the WH. Government grew. Deficits grew. We didn’t cut.
We nearly shut down the govt over a 40B cut a while back. We need to cut 1T. Do the republicans and the GOP have the backbone to honestly cut 1T out of federal spending. If I believed that the GOP and Romney/Ryan would stick to their guns and honestly cut government without petty games…and not 50B either…I would leave the libertarian party and vote for them on that basis alone.
Now, they have 2.5 months to try and convince me that they have that plan and that resolve.

Posted on August 13, 2012 at 10:03pmWe already know from experience how they will “come at Paul Ryan” here on The Blaze. They will cite all of his Congressional votes for bills that they, themselves have always supported.
Report Post »MODEL82A1
Posted on August 13, 2012 at 10:12pmOh, and by also citing his votes for all the bills that they, themselves have always abhorred (which are the vast majority). You see, to the Left, including Paulbots, any Tea Party Conservative is, by definition, their most despised enemy to be destroyed by any means necessary.

Posted on August 13, 2012 at 10:13pmDude, we actually agree on something. Guess that was the 7th sign of the apocolypse or something.
Seriously though, I know you’re ticked at me but I wish you no ill will and for that matter Romney or Ryan. I’m a libertarian. We aren’t going to win. Fine. But I always looked at conservatives as sort of brothers in arms. We don’t agree on everything but we do on most things. What I appreciated about the right is that there was intellectual honesty to what they do. (not as much as the libertarians btw)
It is really scary to see the right look no different than the left when it comes to pretending like facts aren’t facts. Sweep them away, shout down opposition, remove debate, and the constitution is secondary to winning the election. Those aren’t traits that I had associated with the right until this go round.
If you all lose the truth then we are all totally lost.
