‘Real News From The Blaze’: Is Israel Trying to Force Obama’s Hand on Iran?

It appears that Israeli leaders are now speaking in more detail about their willingness to strike against Iran’s nuclear program. It was reported Thursday that Israel’s ambassador to the U.S., Michael Oren, has made it clear that Israel would be “willing to hit Iran, even to delay nuke program” if only by a few years. At the same time, Israel’s home defense minister has said that in the event of such a strike, Israel predicts missile attacks on Israeli cities in response that would trigger a 30-day.
The increase in candid talk from Israel regarding Iran’s nuclear program is leading some to suspect that Israel is planning a unilateral strike. Former Israeli national security advisor Uzi Dayan has told the New York Times that “The window is closing” for the United States to be much clearer and stronger about the sanctions to stop a unilateral strike.
The question was presented to the “Real News” panel Thursday, whether Israel is trying to force President Obama’s hand on Iran? And is Obama likely to give any kind of commitment or bend to the pressure? Watch a clip form Thursday’s show below:

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 11:20amSo Y’all want more American blood to soak the sands of the Middle East for nothing more than the benefit of those who would rather see us dead in the first place. Israel, Iran, Iraq and the “stans” are not our friend. Leave them alone so they can kill each other, not the best of our next generation.

Nobody is talking about putting American soldiers on the ground in Iran, NOBODY!
@Bonanza
If you don‘t know that Israel is one of America’s closest friends then better no post on this subject again until after you’ve done a whole lot of homework ;-)

Iranians through Mahmoud Ahmadinejad aka Lucifer, have stated that they was blood. They want infidel blood. Unless your a Muslim, your an infidel. Bonanza, are you a Muslim??? The Iranian people are very pro western for the most part but they are oppressed. Lucifer could careless how many people he kills, he is looking for chaotic reactions.
Ever read about EMPs? You might want to… EMPs take out computers and other electronic equipment. One nuclear device detonated over the USA would cause all computers to be rendered useless. Even though there wouldn’t be any deaths or fall out, the EMP would cause hings to stop working… Like the electrical grid, which powers pumps to supply water… How long can you live with out water???
OK so is it better to take the fight to the crazy mans house or fight in your house??? If we have to fight, i’d rather fight there…
Oh and just a word of advice: Its better to be thought of as a fool than to open your mouth (or reply) and prove it…
Later…

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 7:20amdoes anyone really believe that Israel will only delay Iran’s nuclear program?
delay? turning Iran into a sheet of glass will be the only effective delay…
the hopes of an Iranian civil war in lieu of an effective Israeli strike fade quickly

Posted on September 2, 2012 at 4:03pmOther than the glass thing, I like your thought process… Afghanistan was a waste of time and blood. Iran could be turned into a democracy easily given a chance… They actually know how to read there…

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 6:32amThe funny thing about politicians is that they take little decisive action to deal with employers who hire illegals, and little decisive action to stop government from financially assisting illegals. If they will take that lukewarm approach in the U.S, then in the Mid-east the approach will be lukewarm – blaming Israel. Mitt Romney seems pretty lukewarm on illegal immigration.

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 6:25amIt doesn’t seem to me that either Obama or Romney are going to do anything effective about Iran. If an American politician will not do anything effective regarding U.S borders, then they will not do anything effective regarding Israel’s borders. Then again, I’m sure Netanyahu already knows that.

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 3:50amWho really knows where Iran is with their nuclear enrichment program? Contrary to WH press secretary Carney’s “eyes on the ground”; which ha later said were the IAEA, that haven’t been allowed on any sites since February 2012. Israeli PM Netanyahu will act on his own inteligence to decide when and where to strike. The WH, DOD have not been very assuring to the Israeli with their statements that seem to go back and forth in what their position is, while it’s clear that the entire region is set to ignite. Turkey, on Wendesday night had four F-16 strike the north mountains of Iraq in its two decades fight with the PPK, kurdish rebels. U N peace monitors announced they’re pulling out of Syria, and there’s a report that Al-Qaeda is joining forces with the FSA, Syrian rebels; which will threaten Assad’s regime, but also the Kurds in noethern Syria. There’s kidnappins in Lebanon, Gaza’s is unstable, Egypt’s Sinai has some 4,500 radical Islamists striking at will. Libya has broken up into tribal, and regional control as it was some 50 years ago. Tunsia‘s Islamic government is waiting on international funds to run it’s country, and government. The ‘Friends of Syria’, P5+1, IAEA‘s ’diologues’, and President Obama’s sanctions were wothless. Everyone is waiting on Israel, but provocations have been from Gaza, Lebanon, the Siani, and Ahmadinejad’s mouth. Like 1967, I believe the action will be on multiple fronts, with or without the support of the United State

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 1:55amSomebody sure as heck needs too. All evidence points to the fact that Iran is much closer to acquiring a Nuke then we would like to believe and here is BO’s still pondering about helping the Syrian folk out after 18 months of patricide. Crazy folk we elected and hopfully can remedy that come November. :)

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 2:21amI wonder if the average American believes that if Mitt Romney was elected, Iran would back down? The Obama Admin. seems non-supportive of Israel.

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 2:50amDIANE TX Don’t know if i am an average American but I think Iran would be cautious about Romney he never claimed to be one of them like Barrack H O did and he probably will not give his first big address in cairo Egypt. Yes he‘s Mormon but if you aren’t muslim you are Infidel to them it’s all the same.I think we all know they will not back down no more than saddam did just keep stalling thats how they work the nuke is important to them it‘s the only way they think they can kill a bunch of Israeli’s.And that is what they must do to bring on the mahdi this is the year according to their prophecy and ahmadinijad says he talked to the mahdi in Syria earlier this year ..

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 6:33amI don‘t think they’ll back down if Romney is elected. I think they are so close now they can taste it. And remember, Israel wanted to take out those facilities in Dec, 2008 but GWB refused to allow them to fly through Iraqi airspace. Iran almost certainly believes that was a sign of fear.

Posted on September 2, 2012 at 4:12pmMitt sure isn’t Ronald Reagan… We know that, however we also know that the Imam in Chief (Obama) isn’t going to do anything… So the outcome if Obama is re-elected is know and is unacceptable. Therefore we need to elect the unknown quantity that might surprise us.
