More news and questions are coming out of Damascus following the devastating bombing carried out by the opposition Wednesday against the Syrian regime, killing three top military and security leaders including the brother-in-law of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, whose whereabouts were in dispute following the attack. While Assad was seen on Syrian T.V. Thursday swearing in his new defense minister after predecessor Dauoud Rajha was killed in the bombing, many have speculated that the attack marks the accelerating path to the regime’s the end and a new phase in the 18-month conflict.
As rebels are torching police headquarters in Damascus and seizing control of Syria’s international borders, rumors are spreading that Assad’s Britain-born wife has fled to Russia and Syrian troops had been issued gas masks; raising fears that chemical weapon use could be on the horizon. Earlier in the day Thursday the government’s last major allies, Russia and China, vetoed a U.N. Security Council resolution that would have threatened sanctions against Syria’s leadership.
If this is in fact the beginning of the end for the government, yesterday’s attacks have more than just a strategic significance, as they indicate the possible high profile participation of Jihadi elements within the resistance.
On “Real News” Thursday the panel discussed the latest developments in Syira, and what scenarios could unfold should Assad be ousted:

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 8:46pmComrades this is a lose lose situation for America. Neither side is Americas friend, although the Muslim Brotherhood appears to be Dear Leaders best buddy!
Report Post »We need to get our fleets (plural is correct) out of the bathtub known as the Straits of Hormuz before Iran can begin swapping pawns for major pieces.
Somehow, I truly believe that our “chessmaster”, Dear Leader, has put the queen forward so mere pawns can destroy her with impunity!
Can’t follow my chess analogy, well then the traitorous SOB in the White House is trying to generate an American Defeat that will make Pearl Harbor seem puny! It’s part of his trying to turn us into a third world country!
Other than that, everything is wonderful!

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 11:14pmI have to agree, this is a no win situation for the US, Obama has put us in a position for check mate. Iran and Russia will use this to attack or draw Israel into a conflict thus bringing the US into a losing battle. Smooth move Obama, should have gotten someone on your cabinet that have some brains.

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 8:41pmCome on Blaze. You know Karen Kwaitkowski told everyone what was going to happen years ago. After Syria, it’s Iran. It was supposed to happen 5 years after we invaded Iraq. Why do you keep supporting these hawkish Democrats that infiltrated the Republican Party anyway?

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 9:54pmThe same Ron Paul endorsing, Israel hating Karen Kwaitkowski that has aligned herself with Code-Pink (the Pinko ladies speak very highly of Ron Paul too), who apologized for Julian Asange and the traitorous Bradley Manning (like Ron Paul), favors Russia TV (like Ron Paul), has a kinship with disgraced Vet and former KGB paid Russia TV showman Adam Kokesh (Ron Paul endorser extraordinaire)? That Karen Kwiatkowski?

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 11:28pmYou’re fighting awful hard for authoritarian rule, global socialism and Keynesian economics to be calling anyone a pinko. I never heard she was against Israel, however I’m not exactly comfortable with our relationship either. I have no spiritual connection, and believe our State Dept. is violating the establishment clause with our policies. I’m not anti-Israel, I‘m just indifferent because I don’t know what’s going on over there. However, if she is, I’m sure she has her reasons based on her credentials and would like to hear them. Soldiers are supposed to report war crimes, which presents a delema with Bradley Manning with his duty to protect intelligence. I mean I know the gig and I would have handled it differently. I would have reported the war crimes to my superiors I knew had the clearance and the need to know, but now that the cat’s out of the bag… can’t really put it back in there. I still don’t know what Kokesh did to make you so upset, other than not allowing himself to be subordinated by anyone. I know he thinks weed is the best remedy for PTSD (which even the VA is comming around to) and something about a gun charge which is BS since it our god-given rights. The clips I see from RT are much better than the MSM which is just pushing state propaganda. Finally, not everyone who doesn’t want to abandon the Just War theory of Christianity is a code pink operative.

Posted on July 20, 2012 at 6:16amJUST…. you guys will dig only far enough to know that if the person IS Ron Paul or supports Ron Paul, well….. they can’t be all bad.
I tend to dig JUST a wee bit further and look into the content of their character when and where I can. WHAT motivates them, WHY they support Paul, and I usually come up with very common denominators (hate for Israel, extreme anti-war activism, racism, anti-Semitism, anarchist tendancies, anti-authority or law enforcement, drugs, paranoia, or complete idiocy as a few examples…).
A paul supporter will either IGNORE, or attempt to spin the dark side of any individual as long as they are, or were… in the tank for Ron Paul.
Anyone from our Military past and present who supports Ron Paul has to have their heads examined (or may have had their heads examined and found to have issues). I have NEVER seen a bigger bunch of whiney bass-turds than the Veterans for Paul.
While Adam Kokesh is an absolute POS (a miscreant and malcontent to the extreme), Kwiatkowski has shown me that she is no better than John Kerry, John Murtha from the Military side of things… or even Jane Fonda in the civilian realm.

Posted on July 20, 2012 at 8:05amI mean if you have evidence that what you say is true, I’ll listen, but you’re just throwing out accusations without any evidence. You know I support Ron Paul because…
I like his voting record
I desperately want to retain our sovereignty
I’m tired of the Govt. taking away my rights from both sides of the isle
As I’m learning more about economics, I believe the Austrians have it right
I believe our rights come from a higher authority than man.
I don’t trust our foreign policy and want it discussed in Congress rather than in closed-door meetings of secret societies.
I’m an originalist who believes we should do our best to follow the constitution as they intended
I believe he’s honest and trust him
Think he‘s the only modern politician that doesn’t think people like you and I are “dumb animals to be used as pawns in our foreign policy”
The lobbyist don’t even bother talking to him.
He’s principled
He actually tries to teach his supporters instead of talking down to them
My gut tells me he’s different than the rest of the politicians
He‘s the best one to fix the economy because he understands Washington can’t fix a free market
He’s the only true capitalist running not just another central planner
He says what he means and means what he says
The establishment and lying ass media hate him so he must be doing something right
…off the top of my head

Posted on July 20, 2012 at 8:33amNow you throw out anti-Semitism and anti-Israel A LOT. I don’t group people and love or hate them. I make my judgements based soley on the individual as much as humanly possible, realizing as humans we do make mistakes. I do my best to keep the predudices all humans are guilty of in check and believe I do very well at that because I recognize I’m not perfect and actively question myself and preconceived notions. The Jewish folks I’ve met leave me with the same oppinion as any other ethnic and/or religious groups. Most of them are fine people with a few scattered jerks.
I don’t agree with Tech and The_Jerk, however I’m unable to prove their claims wrong with my limited recourses. I think there’s a globalist conspiracy more than a Jewish conspiracy. I don’t think the Mosaad set up 9/11. I don’t believe the Liberty was attacked on purpose. etc.
I’m interested in the stuff Ashes says for one simple reason. Israeli immigration policy, which is just flat out racist. And that came from a PRIMARY source. Which says any ethnic Jew can immigrate there and converted religous Jews can immigrate there. If I rediscovered my faith and it moved me to want to live in the Holy Land, I would be ineligible. If a ethnic Eastern European or Russian athiest communist wanted to move there that’s fine. You can’t tell me God wants us to bless athiest communists.

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 8:22pmI hope Assad gases the rebs and causes Israel to invade just before he gets caught and stick-raped like Qaddafi. That should be all the justification the middle east needs to go to war.
