An official with Israel’s governing Likud Party has said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will announce Sunday that Israel will move up its scheduled national elections from October 2013 to September 4. The move comes as dissent has grown among top political and military figures in Israel in regards to the handling of Iran’s nuclear activities.
According to a recent poll from the Jerusalem Post, less than half of Israelis support a unilateral Israeli strike on Iran without the U.S., but an overwhelming majority – 72 percent – would support an international strike.
During “Real News” Thursday the panel debated the strategic and political effects that Iran, Israel and the U.S. all have on one another.

Posted on May 6, 2012 at 7:55pmThese conversations of Israel vs Iran and what role will the US play forgets some additional aces Iran still holds in its hand: their surrogates in Lebanon, Gaza, and now in the Sinai. Let’s not forget Syria looking to divert attention from their bloodshed. If Iran felt that an Israeli attack were imminent, I would expect a missile barrage from the north, south, and possibly the east.
From a Biblical point of view, there will be several wars in this region before a final peace is established. Iran won’t attack Israel until it thinks it has sufficient weaponry to initiate the Jews; they probably have several nukes in their arsenal but I suspect that they are few and precious, being held as defensive weapons rather than offensive at this time. (Remember the missing Soviet nukes that reportedly went on the black market when the USSR fell, and the number of unemployed Soviet scientists that found work in Iran?)
There is also the issue of suitcase nukes repositioned in the US… expect retaliation if the US is involved in a strike.

Posted on May 4, 2012 at 6:15pmGod is not aloof or absent and I do believe has His hand on Israel. The Idea that the Jewish state is some how at fault is ridiculous!!! Days after she became a nation the ENTIRE Arab world together and tried to destroy her!!!! They are at it to this day!!!
Report Post »All you who defend these Islamic murdering monsters need to go live under the daily threat the small Jewish state lives under. Your ignorant positions would quickly change.
…….I say Israel has a right to exist and defend herself! If Iran gets the bomb That tiny nation will be a sea of glass. Israel has a duty to prevent that.
To all of you who think Iran has a right to defend itself…. I would agree … WITHOUT NUKES!!!!! Their nuke program is not for “peaceful” purposes and I think deep down even you commie, ignorant and naive morons know that I think you guys are just antisemitic bigots!!!
Prove me wrong please………

Posted on May 4, 2012 at 12:25amI am glad there is a reluctance to go to war. Israel can and will protect themselves if needed. If the threat is real I am sure we will also help. What I am against is the sanctions(which are a act of war) and the build up like war is unavoidable.
The 911 commission and the CIA both concluded that 911 was a result of “blowback”. This isnt a theory this is a fact. In 1998 Osama bin Laden declared war on the United States on CBS. His reasons were we killed 100k kids in Iraq and we were occupying Saudi Arabia. If we continue to be at war with these Muslim countries we are just inviting more attacks on us. Put yourself in a Iraq father shoes. Your child has been killed by a American bomb. Who do you blame and what do you do. Now think about that we have killed over 500 thousand kids now in Iraq. Do we really think they are just going to say ok you built roads, bridges, hospitals here its ok my child is dead? I know what I would do.

Posted on May 4, 2012 at 5:31pmIf I am not mistaken your premise is that we started the war on Islam. Islam has been at war with us since this countries founding and all who are not Muslim for OVER 2 thousand years… we did not start this war.
Report Post »911 was not our fault.
What is our fault is that we are fighting this war like we did in Vietnam…we are not fighting to win we are fighting so that both sides don’t hate our leaders. Obama first of all is one of them he told them so in Arabic. Second we are far more worried about a dead child on CNN then we are about getting the job done and getting out. We can‘t win a war if we don’t roll in with everything we have (except nukes) wipe out their ability to make war for the next decade or more and then bring them home and let them rebuild on their own what is left of their country.
I have never understood why we spend millions or billions on the fight and the blood of OUR children then spend billions more rebuilding what THEY made us destroy in the war!!!! That is the height of idiocy!!!!
I will also say this… If I were king of America ALL of the enemy’s of Israel would be either dead or to afraid to move against her. That is the position this country should be taking IMHO.

Posted on May 3, 2012 at 10:12pmIsrael has, and still does, extend every olive branch possible, including releasing convicted murderers who go home to huge celebrations. How many times do you think they should get burned?

Report Post »Yes it was an olive branch! There are a few things you are choosing to ignore … First the UN is vehemently anti Israel and would say that when Israel gets attacked and Israelis die it is Israel that is at fault!… Second Israel has given land for peace,Food, money and released Jehadist murderers!!!!
Israel tells the Muslim world … “you leave us alone we leave you alone….” The Islamist rats then say sure … and the next sound you hear is ” ALAH AKBAR!!!” BANG!!!!!! A school bus full of CHILDREN are turned to ashes!!!!….Israel then counter attacks and the world yells at them and accuses them of human rights violations!
You and the rest of the antisemitic BIGOTS need to look at what is happening as if we were the ones living at the doorstep of the devil and not the Jewish state and your mind would change a little….
You guys disgust me.

Posted on May 6, 2012 at 6:06pmChristians are grafted into the Olive tree, which represent Israel. Christ came for HIS people, the Jews. There is NO covenant with ANY gentiles Replacement, and covenant is FALSE and a lie of satan. Christians, of which I am one, should be thankful to HIS chosen people. HE is not done with Israel, by far. Many Jews are now recognizing Jesus WAS their Messiah, as THEIR Scriptures clearly state, coming as the Suffering Messiah re Isaiah Ch 53 Meshiach ben Joseph, and will return as Mechiach ben David the conquering Messiah as per Zech Ch 12 V 8-12.

Report Post »Israel offered peace to all its neighbors. Those that accepted that peace offering have experienced no aggression from Israel. Israel and Egypt even cooperated in blockading Hamas in Gaza to prevent them from acquiring weapons. Jordan has been quiet ever since its treaty with Israel. Israel has never attacked a neighbor without provocation and has never attempted to destroy them. Try using facts instead of rhetoric if your going to try and make a point.

Posted on May 3, 2012 at 9:49pmGood people of the world get your leaders to not get involved in war with iran, maybe if we all reject, Israel will let Iran have their nukes to defend themselves, than maybe Iran and Israel can become freinds if they just talk to each other instead of threatening to bomb each other.

Posted on May 3, 2012 at 10:16pmIndividualism- “maybe Israel and Iran will become friends”. Uh yeah, and maybe Kanye is talented, or maybe the president will join the NRA. Better yet, maybe Ron Paul will get elected.
Report Post »tzion
Posted on May 3, 2012 at 11:41pmAnd maybe Hezbollah will disband, the MB will collapse and all Muslims will begin acting peaceful for once. Iran doesn’t recognize Israel as having any legitimacy despite Israel having never attacked Iran in its entire history. In fact, Israel bombed Iran‘s enemy Iraq and yet Iran still doesn’t consider Israel a friend. Israel has never threatened Iran yet Iran continually funds Hezbollah to attack Israel. Sounds like the perfect friendship, right?
You Paul-bots are all the same. You take Paul’s every word without question and never bother to actually come up with your own opinions. I have yet to find a single politician with whom I can agree 100% on every single issue yet somehow you all have found the “perfect” candidate. I don’t even believe in the concept of a perfect candidate. The only way I could see a candidate agreeing with me on every single issue would be if that candidate was me. If you want to support Paul I’m not going to stop you, but at least be willing to admit that he has his faults like any other human being. You people practically worship the guy. It’s sickening.

Posted on May 4, 2012 at 9:23amthe third one is highly like actually, but Ron Paul is good but not the best, ill admit Gary Johnson would be better, he has the great record and experience to back himself up and I know US foreign policy has made things worse in the middle east and created the situations we have today. Israel talking about pre emptive strikes is threatening Iran. USA is a greater threat to Israel than Iran because USA has funded these groups more than anybody else in payments of foreign aid including hezzbollah and hamas.

Posted on May 4, 2012 at 6:00pmYou are right … America has funded our enemy’s though I think it was in the same naive hope that Israel has … Maybe if we pay them enough they will leave us alone right???
Report Post »That is the ONLY thing right in your posts here today that have even a shred of reality in them. Israel is the victim not the aggressor and we have ALWAYS been her friend and I would die to defend her as I would America (If I had the chance). Ron Paul had GREAT domestic policy ideas but was a fool in his ideas that we caused the war with Islam and his idea that we should leave Israel to destruction.
This is beyond foolish …. If we just got out and left Israel to her fate how long do you think it would take Islam to come and either convert us or take our heads? I would MUCH rather fight them there then fight them here.
what a foolish couple of posts you have there … please re-think your position on this one God is watching.
