‘Real News From The Blaze:’ Left Attacks Paul Ryan for Discussing Natural Rights

Mitt Romney’s pick of Paul Ryan to be his running mate launched speculation that the campaign would shift to a real debate on policy, and there has been indication that it still will, but at the first announcement of the pick some opponents of the Wisconsin congressman immediately began their campaign to discredit and demagogue Ryan’s philosophy.
During coverage of Ryan’s first speech as the vice presidential candidate, MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry added to her resume of controversial on-air remarks when she criticized Ryan for daring to quote the Declaration of Independence in his speech when declaring rights come from God and nature, and not from government.
“The thing I really have against him is actually how he and Gov. Romney have misused the Declaration of Independence,” said Harris-Perry Saturday. “I’m deeply irritated by their notion that the ‘pursuit of happiness’ means money for the richest and that we extricate the capacity of ordinary people to pursue happiness. When they say ‘God and nature give us our rights, not government,’ that is a lovely thing to say as a wealthy white man.”
Harris-Perry’s race-related criticism of Ryan for quoting a fundamental idea, upon which the entire nature of the U.S. government rests, has been met with media and public disapproval.
On “Real News From The Blaze” Tuesday, the panel was joined by Dr. Joseph Laconte of Kings College to explain why debate around this idea, that our rights are from God and nature, could spell trouble for the future of the nation should people ever see Government as the ultimate dispensor of rights. Posted on August 16, 2012 at 5:21pmWe have a Bill of Rights…..given by God to our fore fathers that they could put them out in public for the world to see…Be aware this is not a bill of pretty good ideas government is letting us enjoy till they take them. These are God given rights worth dieing for, or worth overthrowing the government for…government ought to be mindful of just how thin the ice they walk on is

Posted on August 15, 2012 at 12:19pmRemember, the liberal/left government wants to give you everything so they will have the power to take it back or ration, if needbe. This whole thing is about power. The liberal mantra is defeated if that power is assigned to God. That’s why the very concept of a living God is anathema to the whoring liberal left. It’s gotten so bad actually, they shouldn’t be called democrats anymore. It’s a much more sinister organization now. They need a new name.

Mrs. Perry (I dont use hyphenated names, her last name is Perry PERIOD), probably never read the constitution! ALL laws come from GOD, that is called FREEDOM. If you go by mans laws eventually it will lead to tyranny, as we are seeing right before our eyes.

Posted on August 15, 2012 at 4:08amWeather you are atheist or religious, both groups agree in the existence of natural laws. (exampled would be: for every action is an opposite and equal re-action) The argument between the two is how were natural laws created.
Report Post »People will always fight over this because natural laws dictate that a person has the right to “choose or make a choice” and they choose to fight over this.

Posted on August 15, 2012 at 2:19amI am convinced that the primary reason the Left would be offended by the idea of undeniable natural rights given by God is because they have always wanted the power to deny rights. That is what happened with the old Southern Democrats, that’s how it is with Liberalism, that’s how it is with Socialism, and that’s how it is with Communism. They want the ability to say “You earn too much, so give some back to us.” By doing so, they acquire the ability to guide every aspect of one’s life. The Right pointing out natural rights says “No, you cannot take what is mine because it is mine and I have power over my own life.”

The dead Ted Kennedy did the same to Clarence Thomas, on top of smearing Thomas’ good name for being Black and Conservative. Slo-Joe biden came out of his racist closet today and implored Blacks in his audience to vote Gaybama or Romney would put them “back in chains”.

Our rights do and will come from nature and nature’s God.
It’s called the law of sowing and reaping. Sow to the wind and reap the whirlwind.
The whirlwind is headed our way.
We don’t need “rights” now. What is our “right”, now, is judgment. We need mercy.

Posted on August 14, 2012 at 11:06pmAll rights exist. The only question is whether the government will honor the rights of all people, or trample on the rights of some people. We do not need the government, as the Left would say, to insure that everyone’s rights are respected. We need the government to stop disrespecting our rights. The more government we have to enforce rights, the fewer rights we all share.
It‘s said that the right to swing my fist ends at the tip of the other man’s nose. The only question of natural rights and individual sovereignty is where do those boundaries, a la fist and nose, lie? It is only in the exploration of the boundaries of our rights that government has a legitimate role. When the government creates a “right” of one person which is founded on the services and goods of another, then they have just trampled on the rights of the provider of those services and goods.
A right to health care is the right to enslave health care workers and benefit from their medical labour without their engagement in the process of negotiating the terms of their labour. The right to home ownership is the right to enslave home builders and benefit from their manual labour without their engagement in the process of negotiating the terms of their labour.

Do we not still pay medical workers? Do we not still pay home builders? Is the right to peace and security and enslavement of police officers and the military? I don’t think so…

Posted on August 15, 2012 at 9:02amIt’s not a question of pay or not pay. It’s a question of the right to decide for themselves the terms of their labour. If someone else has a right to that labour, then they have no right to determine its terms.
We have no right to police protection. Numerous court cases, most of the SCOTUS, has said so. The police have absolutely no affirmative duty to protect any specific individual. They are there for the security of society as a whole/in general. We are an all-volunteer military, and even in wartime like now, anyone can get out at any time by simply being a bad soldier. They knew the job was dangerous when they took it.

Posted on August 15, 2012 at 11:46am“We have no right to police protection.”
Regardless, the police remain publicly-run and whose service is free at the point of delivery. It is functionally identical to any other publicly provided service.
“We are an all-volunteer military, and even in wartime like now, anyone can get out at any time by simply being a bad soldier.”
And what? If we had a public healthcare system, you wouldn’t ever be able to get out of being a doctor? Nonsense, you would still choose whether or not you wanted to be a medical professional, and you could change your mind at any time.
“It’s a question of the right to decide for themselves the terms of their labour.”
Well frankly, that’s what unions are for.

Posted on August 14, 2012 at 10:25pmHe is 100% right about natural rights. The Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution to ensure the government adhered to natural law. Progressives on both sides of the isle want to remove this limitation on their power. If Ryan’s actions matched his rhetoric (specifically voting away our rights with those evil post 9/11 bills) I’d be hammering away at the message boards supporting him too.
