‘Real News From The Blaze:’ Obamacare vs. Romneycare 2.0

Any second now we will learn the Supreme Court’s decision on the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare.) With anticipation growing ahead of that ruling, a new government report has taken some aback as it shows that regardless of how the Supreme Court comes down on this, healthcare costs will continue to rise. The president’s plan does very little to combat this and Mitt Romney has said that if elected, he will repeal Obamacare on day one.
That said, Romney has said he plans to implement a plan to replace what he plans to appeal. With his much dissected Massachusetts plan in the rearview window, what will Romneycare 2.0 look like should he make it to the oval office?
During a campaign stop in Orlando Tuesday, Romney outlined his plan that would make the health insurance system “consumer based,” and put the responsibility on the states to get the uninsured on the health care rolls.
To discuss the plan the “Real News” panel was joined by John Goodman author of “Priceless: Curing the Healthcare Crisis.”

Posted on June 20, 2012 at 11:06amThose of you who keep mindlessly repeating the lie that the current Massachusetts health care program is “Romney Care” should do a little fact checking. Romney presented a plan with the help of the Heritage foundation that was very conservative and free market oriented. It contained things like the requirement that freeloader pay for their medical care if they didn’t have insurance (not the same as a mandate but what conservatives say should be the rule), free access to all insurance companies, and more. The democrats made huge changes, including limiting insurance companies and inserting a mandate while allow freeloaders a free ride. The Democrats had a huge majority in the legislature and could easily override a veto. Romney issued numerous line item vetoes in hopes that it might be more difficult to override a bunch of vetoes rather than just one. The Democrats voted to override every veto.
Romney care isn‘t Romney Care it’s Democare. The question isn’t whether Romney supports Obama Care, he doesn’t. The question is, haw Romney learned the lesson that you can never ever trust a Democrat to do the right thing, especially when they have a veto proof majority? But if we vote the Democrats (and liberal Republicans) out of Congress, that question won’t be an issue.

Posted on June 14, 2012 at 11:23amAll I got from that panel was that he wants to put health care back in the hands of the states through block grants and that taxes and/or exemptions will be the same for everyone. I don’t see a problem with either of those ideas. But I need more info…. a lot more.

Posted on June 14, 2012 at 9:40amJUm could it be that the ada sets doctors fees?Could it be that the medical industry is micromanaged to the point of strangulation?The micromanagement coming from years of frauds and mistakes that no one anywhere seems willing to take responsibility for?Could it be years of the medical profession commiting atrocities to force this into place to kill all of us off[genocide]?Lets see maybe we can ask the jews who lived in the concentration camps.Oops no most were killed off right then and there.Those that weren’t are currently dieing at an alarming rate.How convienent the new genocide coincides with the die off from the last one,Don’t bother remembering history you will repeat it.Considering what this world holds today I’m beginning to think its a good idea.I think all of you need to suffer what I have and tried warning you about.

Posted on June 14, 2012 at 8:20amThe reason Obama and Romney got traction with their insurance programs was the HIGH COST OF MEDICINE. Why is the cost so high? Primarily because of Government regulations, but there are other causes, including frivolous lawsuits. If Romney wins, he needs to appoint a panel to find out why the cost is so high. Give them 30 days to file their report. He should then roll back whatever government regulations are, and campaign for tort reform and against silly rules that make medical care 5x higher than it should be.

==================================================
That’s a no-brainer….
When demand for a product or service rises at a faster pace than supply can meet, then the price will inevitably rise.
No need to appoint a panel to tell you that…

Posted on June 14, 2012 at 7:31amThe only thing I want the Federal Government to do with regard to healthcare is get out of the way. Remove the regulations that hinder private health insurance providers from competing across state lines. Deregulate and downsize the FDA to streamline the process of bringing new pharmaceuticals to market. And begin the process of transitioning Medicare/Medicade into a private market insurance venture.
The Federal Government has not proven to me that they can be efficient in their administration of anything. I don’t want to see any more reforms. I want to see them out of it altogether. Peace.
