‘Real News From The Blaze’: Planned Parenthood and Obama Administration Clash With the State of Texas

Planned Parenthood has found itself in a tussle with the Lone Star state.
Texas was set to begin blocking state funds from going to health clinics affiliated with abortion providers Tuesday, an act that would have blocked funds from Planned Parenthood. Feeling that their constitutional rights to free speech and organization were being violated, the organization sued the state. A judge in Austin yesterday ruled that (for now) the funds will continue to flow to the clinics while he weighs the complexity of the entire case.
The majority of Texas legislators want to go ahead with the ban despite a threat from the federal government that would cut-off healthcare funds to the state, which is the grounds for a separate lawsuit with Texas suing the Obama administration.
Another episode in a growing political debate surrounding issues that opposing sides dub as “life” or “women’s health,“ Will Cain broke down the Texas case during ”Real News” Tuesday.

Posted on May 13, 2012 at 4:02pmI am a Texan, born and raise here. this issue is more than just about abortion, and the people who provide that particular service. It is about the people who provide the service claiming they have a ‘right’ to public tax dollars’. I am part of that public that knows they no not have the right to take our tax moneys for this vile process. Abortion is the law of the land, and any woman who wishes to avail herself of that service is free to do so. Even in the state of Texas. Do not however, ask tax payers to pay for your choice. particularly since the majority of texas voters have said time and again, we oppose this practice.

Posted on May 2, 2012 at 11:58amThe issue, Pax, is not whether a woman can get an abortion. The issue is whether taxpayer funds should be used to pay for abortions. PP has not demonstrated that they keep abortion funding separate from public money. This is an incredibly emotional issue and as such the government has an obligation to ensure that taxpayer money is prevented from being spent towards it. Organizations that receive outside funding from any source should be accustomed to accounting for funds separately. It is common fund accounting practice and should be a no-brainer for Planned Parenthood.

Posted on May 2, 2012 at 10:31amYa’ll really need to wake the f¤¤k up! Your personal or religious viewpoints wont change laws, with this issue or any other. Face it, a woman has the right to abort her child until birth. you and I may not like it, but then again, there are many rights of others that I disagree with. For instance, I don’t like the fact that the majority of people on the blaze have the right to vote, as misinformed as you all are, but I can’t take that right from you, no matter how I feel. Face it, no matter how many people you get to think like you do, America is protected from your, and other types of, extremism. we are not a , democracy we are republic, and I thank God Almighty daily for this fact. TTFN!

Posted on May 2, 2012 at 5:57amI think we should start a campaign ad about the Democratic war on babies.
Report Post »We can highlight all of the disgusting things the democratic party, ACLU, Planned Parenthood, radical progressives and rich abortion doctors do in the name of “reproductive rights”. We need this to be front and center in Obama’s face. We need to put a big bright spotlight on his support of late term abortions and get this whole thing before the supreme court.

Posted on May 2, 2012 at 6:28amYou are so right, COLORADO MAVERICK! If people only knew the inside horrors that go on in these clinics, the aborted babies torn from their mothers and then they lay body parts piece by piece on cold, steel tray to ensure they “got everything”…Hitler laughs from hell. God forgive our nation.

Posted on May 2, 2012 at 9:51amA few days ago after reading that here in Montana there are “42” abortions A WEEK being done, I admit I was shocked! It just blows me away that I thought Montana was alittle more conservative than most states “out-west”.

Posted on May 1, 2012 at 11:23pmLook, you make it very simple for these clinics, you can provide legitimate “health services” but if you also offer abortions, then you loose your funding. Put it into their laps, they have to choose, so when anyone screams and cries foul “how will I get my womens health services” then you turn the spotlight on Planned Parenthood and turn the people on them by simply saying “we gave them a choice to continue receiving funding if they would provide health services, and not include abortions, they choose to continue abortions knowing that their health services funding would be cut, it is their fault and they are to blame.”

Many people trying to flee the cesspools they lived in – California and many other liberal states have come here to live. Unfortunately they have brought their liberal philosophies that ruined their former states with them, starting to screw up this state.

Posted on May 12, 2012 at 7:30pmcongrats on your victory! Women’s clinics are actually rarely funded by anything BUT the government, and organizations that don‘t have nearly what it costs to pay for women’s health care. These clinics will be forced to stop providing abortions or shut down all-together, and desperate teenage rape victims will need to resort to mutilating their genitals with a coat-hanger, they way women in Africa have to do because they never had the freedoms and access to health care that we once had.

Posted on May 1, 2012 at 10:24pmWant to get the country in order? Get your state house in order…..Nullify, nullify, nullify.
We the People have the power though this has been obfuscated and our states have been complicite. Take back the State Governments via the State Legislator and we can (regardless of the President and Congress) restore this country. This is how is it designed to be.
All Gov’t is to be local.
Here is a clue to those who think the Tea Party is dead….. We are not dead and we do not sleep, we have been “infiltrating” our local and state governments.
We are These United States….not The United States
Be “afraid”, be very “afraid” We are working from the bottom up and are ready to meet your top down – inside out.
And the real thing is this….we work, we pay the taxes and we are sick and tired of supporting losers like the occupoopers.
We are sick and tired of supporting those of you who can work but will not work (not to be confused with those who want to work but can’t find jobs) And still to those who want to work and can’t find work (because you have all this education that makes you superior to “menial” labor)…
I was born in 1960. At one point in my early life, my dad was laid off. He had to paint buildings in our town to get cheese and rice (that is what you had to do to get “welfare” then). When push came to shove, there was no job “beneath” him. He took the first “real” job that he was offered because he knew that nothing in

Posted on May 1, 2012 at 10:17pmFree speech? Of all the things I have heard including that abortion is “women’s health”, now it’s free speech too?? PP is so full of crap and they are a privately run abortion mill that makes ENOUGH money that they should never get any public funding. As for healthcare being cut off—I bet they are all saying–”go for it, so we don’t have to kick your a out the door”.

Still say it is not right to tell a woman what she can or cant do with her body. BUT bottom line OBAMA was a mistake , is a mistake and needs to go.Another term spells disaster for USA and will be so far Fked up we will never come out of it. Posted on May 1, 2012 at 11:56pmI don’t think I ever had a bad time in Austin. Make the tour of Guadalupe Street and eat at the Steak and Egg restaurant. Then 6th street and the rest of the joints on hwy 35. Stay at the “Quarters” motel because they had jacuzzis in every room. But the decisions coming out of the capitol would reflect the seeping, corrosive, progressive mentality as far back as 1985.
